The Man in the Video is my father. He just passed away December 11th. Came back here to see him one last time and saw that Mimi had passed away recently as well. I can only imagine they're having a blast in Heaven singing and dancing.
So sorry for your loss *hugs*
😢
its been 5 years that im addicted to this song and your father performance. i didnt knew... god bless him. so sorry to hear that. love and respect from iran.
🐏
Thank you for sharing that ❤️
May the memory of you and the legacy of your music be a blessing. RIP Mimi
Whoa. He’s dead 😭
Double negative was an omen, a promise of salvation and at the same time of death. I listened to it four years ago when I was ill with pneumonia and dyspnoea prevented me from speaking or doing anything else. I used to cling to Mimi Parker's voice reciting those crucial phrases as if they were a shadowy vaticinium addressed to me.
Taken aback
All that you gave
Wasn't enough
I thought it was an unveiling of a terrible pain that was soon to come. The foretelling of a fatal illness. Instead, Mimi plumbed her future, like a shaman rummaging through the guts of a freshly killed animal in search of an ominous sign. In the blood the intestinal response, divulged to the world with a solemnity that now sends shivers down my spine.
All that you gave was not enough. All that beauty, all that love lavished over a 28-year career, was not enough to save you. A sudden evil took you unawares, stabbed you in the back, before you could do anything. Anything at all.
What an enormous, unfathomable sense of emptiness.
This is beautiful writing that touched my soul. Thank you.
RIP Mimi - thank you for it all.
I found this by listening to Robert Plant's pod cast called Digging Deep. That introduced me to the album Band of Joy released in 2010. The Silver Rider song helped me find Low. Now, I am running down that rabbit hole. This is exactly what I love about listening to music. Finding new music is so much fun.
13 reasons why thanks for introducing me into the world of fantastic music
why is this piece so beautiful??
This is a very scientific song.. it tunes you to frequency of calmness.. it resets you
It really does 😂 have been literally listening to this on a loop
Just an incredible, unreal song through and through. They really did save the best for last.
I never comment on UA-cam videos. But this is Low. Been with them from since I Could Live in Hope. My absolute favorite band. For all of my years.
Low is constantly adapting and changing to the culture, reflecting our darkness. Mimi reminds us of the beauty of loss and sadness and melancholy and anger. Drums and Guns showed us Low drawing blood, coming at us with a surprising fierceness. The Great Destroyer showed us melancholy in catchy hooks from a typical alternative sound. But subverted it. Mimi again bringing that deep sadness and conviction.
Double Negative shows us the surreality of our lives in after 2016. How the world shifted into chaos and instability.
And here we have Alan and Mimi giving us the art and the soundtrack of our times. Surreal, dark, touching on madness. But guiding us through into something new and different.
Thank you again Low.
What about Things We Lost In The Fire?
You couldn't say it better!
Wow, greatly put
I heard this song on a loop while reading all the final sequence in the book Requiem (final book of Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver) and it fits perfectly. I love the saga and this song enhances the beauty in it.
i LOVE this. The deep and dark feelings of being a human being drip from this track.
I can only imagine what the artist might have gone through to create this masterpiece..
I'm happy to listen to something like this.
I am here... because I'm here. So... "what could I say...?" Grinding... creepy visuals, in a way. Love it.
I'm absolutely loving this direction.
Me too. Just saw.them again
Incredible.
Having loved your music since 'I can live in hope', and listening to this new album, I have to tell you that your art is out of this world! 'Double Negative' leaves a strong wanting for more new music from you. Bless you!
I cry to this song all the time now. Whenever it plays it hits me in the feelings. I am a calm collected individual at work, and I can say I am a unique person who under any type of stress I could outperform my peers. But... This... Just Breaks me down. I literally break down into tears every time I hear this song. the 3 song music video this has with the other two accompanying songs are perfect because it takes you up, down and gets you out of this depressive state, but... I just listened to this song, and I need to listen to the other one to feel right about myself again. It's like Joy Division, what it has done to people. People have killed themselves to moving music that is too real for our own reality. It is beyond truth. It is past all hope. It is genuinely beyond words.
I don't know if I should thank or scramble to get out of this state of mind. Goodnight, though.
the same. i'm crying also...
YES this music is quite surreal kind of reminds me of enigma in some ways..
heart beating life.. haunting sound. Thanks for this provocative artistic freedom !
Does anyone else see the resemblance between this man and Henry Miller? It's almost like this video is a video of him in his last moments before he died, knowing that its coming, and embracing the inevitable in a bizarre display of happiness and grief.
well that makes me kinda sad because this is my dad
I can see it a bit. What about Clint Eastwood?
Thank you for helping me let go of the illusory idealization of my youth.
Soulvigilante on point, feel the same!
Yes, that’s it
Irraggiungibili, eterni, immortali.
After 10 or 20 years the next generation will be obsessed about LOW just like we listen to Pink Floyd
Guess and hope your very right.
What could I say?
Taken aback
All that you gave
Wasn't enough
What could I say?
Taken aback
All that you gave
Chasing the line
Tear in the coat
Pierced in the side
Keep in the know
Throw in the earth
Dancing and blood
What could I say?
Taken aback
All that you gave
Wasn't enough
impressive. Original. Well crafted video. Not easy to get such mood in video making. really congratulations to director, editor, and musicians. Adorable song.
Someone's been watching lots of Twin Peaks. Lynch + Low = awesome weird heaven. Love it when my two favourites overlap. Mimi Parker's voice still the greatest weapon in Low's arsenal. Love the new darker experimental turn. Would love to hear a Low + NIN album. Imagine what that would be like.
The old guy dancing is also in the Chelsea Wolfe - American Darkness video.
waow i didn't realize
I was late to this party. Beautiful, haunting and strange. I have to look deeper into this band....
What a bold new sound from Low! I love how haunting it sounds.
Always in search for another direction or sound and still you will hear Low. Love it. Looking forward to hear the album !
13 reasons why.. Thank you guys for this masterpiece..❤
The way this was playing in the background shifting between Bryce's funeral and Tony's police interrogation and leading to the transition was beautiful and haunting. A true masterpiece.
Experimental rock, this a masterpiece
Aphex Twin played this in Paris. beautiful song! nice movie clip
Mesmerizing. Beautiful. Horrifying.
This is such an amazing mesmerizing song, as great as their old classic Low stuff, although a somewhat totally different direction. After releasing a couple of albums I didn't care much about they came out with Ones and Sixes, which in my opinion is one of their best albums, and this new stuff seem to take that direction a step further. Great stuff!
Aphex Twin played this at Rock en Seine, magical moment
one word, BASS.
Reveals new depths every time I listen to it.

THANK YOU 13 REASONS WHY TO HELP ME FIND THIS MASTERPIECE ❤❤
No idea how my random playlist of trap and rap got me here but I like
In art you really never know what will take what will be remembered what will be influential what will resonate with people to take action or not what will just pass by.
Very special band. Very sad she’s passed. The music remains.
art. provacative. (Video has that david lynch look😍) and the song, well its art. total fan now. thank you!
I was just thinking the same thing, very Lynch like.
Agree. For a second i thought the old man is the Giant from Twin Peaks. He moves kinda like him.
ohmaygah 3000 - if you ever want to cry listen to Things We Lost in the Fire
This really is some next level stuff. Obsessed with this record.
What beauty they bring us.
It definitely bears repeated listening.
I was listening to I Could Live in Hope days ago, and now i discover that a new album is about to be released, SATISFACTION!
This song is just blast. Please, become popular.
I like the bit were she raises her hand for a high five but he goes down down and then she does a twirl, the whole things right there.
2:48
Always nice to come across real art.
Lynchian is the only way I can describe these new singles
This soothes my depressed soul 🖤
Ces beaux artistes savent se renouveler avec intelligence et sensibilité. Vraiment superbe et très excitant!
I can’t take this eerie music seriously when there’s an old man trying to pole dance and just boogying like he’s listening to polka
I applaud him though, reminds me of me
AARP-Aging is changing. No limits...No labels!
Iris Van Herpen brought me here.
same
@@nomini_nom me too!
And i came from 13 reasons why
Same.
Ahh me too
4 people don't understand the magic that is Low.
the more the better. not too many partitions, please
1 person doesn't understand 4 people don't understand the magic that is Low.
I do. Most wholeheartedly.
💕Much Respect & love to our friends in band..Low..Thank you!!..☆ Opal
I am absolutely in love with this.
I came here after watching 13 Reasons Why since this song was playing when Tony was being interrogated and it got stuck in my head.
Donte D. Morant same
Sameee
Me too
Sumptuous album in my collection, thanks for vid
This entire song gives me anxiety except the part where he sings but it’s still fire tho
Legend...RIP Mimi
This is Low's Kid A or Amnesiac... A total change of structure yet it's still Low as we have always loved them.
Music is great, thanks for creating this
13 reasons why ✌🏼
simply beautiful
Kurła ale to dobre, zakochałem się
This is something I am looking for.
Apocalyptic masterpiece
Me at concerts these days.
LMAO
LOL
mood
Iris Can Heroen led me here as well. Great fashion show and choice of music😁 Check out Lullaby by Low as well. Amazing music
Intriguingly Lynchian. The only thing is, Low for me, is music for the dark, cold winter months so hearing this in the summer seems wrong to me. I'll return in a few months.
yep.... same..
time to come back Sir.
coops1234 oh, I'm already here, my friend.
Welcome back.
I’ll see you again in 25 years (I had the same thought while watching the video)
I’m obsessed
Simply Amazing
welcome this summer in Belgium!!!
Obviously, you've never been to a Duluth strip club, as this would be known as 'Tuesday'.
oloololllol
Hahahahaha! I just nearly laughed myself inside out!
people "go" to Duluth? ........or maybe they just end up there.........where the fuck is it hehe
@@jaypeckay5898 dissing on Duluth. real tacky
coolio, apologies for my rudeness - out of order!
For some reason Mike Myers' "Sprockets" sketch comes to mind.
This sounds like a recent undisclosed love affair in a motel between Martin L. Gore and Alan Wilder. And that's amazing.
With Little 15 on background
To jest przepiękne.
Its good to see Jean Luc-Picarde getting high
Still a banger.
4:00 onwards legit meditation
fascinating new music from Low
😢RIP Mimi
I guess you can say there’s 13 reasons why I’m here.
"Por 13 razões" 😍
So who all witnessed Bryce's funeral?
Man I was desperate to hear this after watching 13 reason why
02:31 - 02:59 i'm dying
me too .. 10000.. repeat times
13 Reasons Why, Season 3 Ep 6. Tony's interrogation.
Yes
Zachary B yes 😩
Took me forever to find this
Oh you know it man ;)
I used shazam
"13 Reasons Why" bought me here S3E6
It occured to me that Low has to be the negative of Beach House, as a kind of other side of the mirror, being Beach House for the happy and standard people and Low for the damaged ones. I belong to the second group of people. Absolutely brilliant piece of work.
mauricio sanchez Beach House is poppy but I wouldn't describe their music as happy...Depression Cherry (as the name suggests) isn't exactly a summer jam, nor is their new 7 album lol.
They are both great and are both playing in Amsterdam (Holland) tonight! I have chosen to see Low ;)
I like both.
beautiful. it‘s so atmospheric, reminds me of some earlier moderat stuff
Oh I’m so glad that people have to explain their credibility
it's all coming down
This is how I dance, which is why I don't dance
but you write so eloquently..........you must come to Europe......we're lacking that "edge" ahem..........:)
When did David Lynch start directing music videos?
this insane beautiful strange
13 reasons why and Shazam brought me here. For those who likes this like i do, i definitely recommend “Sevdaliza”. She’s a goddess among humans. Trust me
