    I am a self taught mechanic of over 30 years in the field. Helping people save money and stay safe on the road is what I am here for. If I can pass that along in my videos, that would make me feel even more accomplished. I am rather old school and do not really do things by the book, for this reason, I do not claim to make "Instructional" videos. My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Please use safety and knowledge when doing your own repairs. ~ Ben - MegaMiles

    Another great video! I agree 100% with using torque wrench when reassembling fasteners with torque specs. Towards the end of the video the screen goes blank, still can hear you talking then picture comes back on 🤷. ✌🏻

    Regarding the crankshaft bolt, torque to the 47 ft-lbs. Mark one corner on the crankshaft pulley bolt, then mark the crankshaft pulley at the next corner of the bolt, that's right about 60 degrees. You actually mentioned that distance in the video. Tighten to match the mark on the bolt to the one on the pulley. Definitely need the tool to do it. Lots of parts stores will lend you one, about $20 to buy.

    Great video! At the 7:30 mark you mention finding a leak and we’re gonna check out what was causing that leak. Did you find out what the leak was coming from?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  5 місяців тому +1

      I believe we ended up doing the oil filter housing gasket. That and the oil pressure sensor right there too are common for leaks.

      Besides the Ultra Torque? No, I havent.
      I have both the regular gun and the Ultra Torque. The Ultra has up to 1400ft-lbs breakaway torque.
      Thats what I used in the video for the crank pulley. That and the weighted socket has only worked for me this one time out of 5 different honda crankshaft bolts.

    Is it safe to go with aftermarket timing belt kit, like Continental or other?

      @@MegaMilesBen that's not too shabby I suppose. Seems like they can be done in 2-3 hours after you're familiar with the routine

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  5 місяців тому +1

      @ImReelySuqi Im sure if youre just looking to knock em out, you could figure ways to make it faster.
      I put a little extra time in often with cleaning and making sure on proper torque specs and such.
      Youve also got initial time of getting the car set up and finding the right tools. Then theres clean up afterward, coolant burping, test drive and/or unexpected struggles durring the job.

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  5 місяців тому +2

      @ImReelySuqi if youre just looking at the money side of mechanics, its definately not the way to be looking.
      Mechanics dont really make that much (even with your own shop) for what they go through and put their body through. The amount of tools and special tools that have to be continually purchased. Surgeries arnt cheap either. Ive had 2 back surgeries, 4 hernia surgeries and need another hernia surgery.
      To me, mechanics is about helping others be safe, stay safe and keep others on the road safe. I like to try to help my community with low cost labor and allow them to provide their own parts which helps them save more while still getting quality, experienced labor and bringing back a good name to mechanics. Too many mechanics these days are just giving all mechanics bad names.
      I was born to be a mechanic and I will spread that gift to my community.

      @@MegaMilesBen I totally get that. I used to be a mechanic working flat rate for Volvo. I was the same way, ended up being a little on the slow side according to my managers. But everything left clean and inspected. I only ask because a friend of mine asked me if I can help replace his water pump and I had no idea what the job paid. Thank you for the information
