@@NinjaMaster-og8ti Yahtzee doesn't have a PS5 yet. Sony isn't sending us a review unit, so the only way he and many of our team can get it is by pre-ordering like everyone else. We're not holding back any content, just the current state of things.

Yeah IIRC there is a comic short or was just a passing mention where would be thugs and goons would only be initiated into the inner circle of thugs and goons only after they fight against Spidey. As it is general knowledge around the goons that Spidey is the "nicest" hero to fight against despite his quips. With Spidey, most they would get out of is getting webbed and beat-up. Avengers, getting blownup by Iron Man's rockets and/or repulsor blasts. Thor's Thunder, Thrashed by The Hulk. Fantastic Four, Burned by The Human Torch or crushed by The Thing.
@@jled787 Then there's the X-Men where you keep getting calls afterwards by supremacist groups, assuming you survive Wolverine, or Storm or Cyclops isn't having one of his "episodes".
You know how a game could take advantage of that web traversal ? They would need some big enemies, with a few weakspot very high, so that you would need to sling around them to find and hit them. @@youngodonkor6595 I don't understand this question. Are you asking where you could buy the games? Because online. Online is where you would.get the games. All games have digital download versions
Miles has much more of a defined personality in the comics at this point and of course the movie gave him charisma and his own struggles, while this game really just makes him a more boring version of Peter.
@@sarafontanini7051 You know you're actually right. It was something he struggled with far more because he believes he could have helped Peter and doesn't know if he could live up to a literal legend.
I would like to mention that the "If you punch dudes a load of times, you build up your enthusiasm for punches meter which enables you to do the super spicy punch, which is like a punch but more so." is the greatest line to describe an ability of all time. Thank you.
It was roughly the length of all 3 DLCs combined with a few more mechanics and additions that helped to cover some of the more annoying issues in the original. Most notably, you can now call on specific crimes to be committed, making some of JJJ's criticisms seem oddly on point.
4:50 Wow, that sounds awful... Screw taking my own fun route to try and cut the bad guy off, no no no... You follow the game's path or you LOSE. Thanks game.
Well of course! Everybody knows that the point of playing a video game is to recreate exactly how the developers want you to play it! They made the game so they get to tell you how to enjoy the thing YOU bought!
To be fair, if you're doing a chase scene there needs to be some penalty for getting too far away from the target. Does sound like they took it too far though.
@@nonuvurbeeznus795 Having that option to have your plan fail is what makes it fun. If you don't give your player the chance to screw up, then you're holding their hand and it's boring. That's why (for example) Subnautica's hook shot system is so fun to move with. Long story short, you shoot a hook and it connects to surfaces for you to swing with. But you HAVE to aim it, and missing the shot will cause it to just flop and leave you mid-air and falling (since the mech walker can't really swim, it needs the hook for good mobility.) - Giving the player the option to try things and fail is fun. Also, here's a quick and easy fix for, "what if u get lost." Initiate an auto-save at the start of the chase, and give the player the option to load that save from the menu real quick. Boom, ez.
@@DetectiveMekova you should be bro its a great game, just a little steep when compared to the original, gameplay wise its great, even better since you got it for 30

Peter is Spiderman. I don't get why these companies think we want to invest in a racially/gender altered version of something we already know. Its just Ghostbusters again
2:45 'So now you know, it's me.' 'Riiiight, um, who are you again?' 'You put me away!' 'Oh, did I? Cool!' 'Don't pretend you've forgotten, I was the Chameleon's right hand man!'
Why can't we have the moments in PS2/GameCube's Spiderman2 where you chased black cat or had to traverse the floating platforms to get to the top of the statue of liberty to use the web swinging in proper game play
It's funny he mentioned the "Spider-Man unmasks the villain and has no clue who they are" because that's exactly what they did back when Electro debuted (and pretty much never again, mind you)
Most diligent employee remark... it’s sad, but true. People who do their best are worked harder, and kept in their positions. The talent rarely advances.
I just came to this video after watching a China Uncensored episode on how wall street have sold out to China. And the first thing I see is "will destroy the galaxy for cash" poster. It's little things like that in life that make me chuckle with childlike warmth and joy.
The next game should let you play as both Peter and Miles. Imagine you and a friend racing through the skies together, bopping bad guys in the nose like, Batman and Robin. I'd buy it. lol
"Like how a retail manager rewards their most diligent employe by giving them the night shift every fucking night" damn that hit close to home, even before the crazy busy Christmas rush.
The cloak aspect reminds me I think of either a cheat or special Spiderman costume in the old original "Spiderman 2000" game for PC and PS1 that allowed you to cloak as well, making you invisible to enemies. Though I always liked that Spiderman game because of the "unique" aspects of the plot and gameplay mechanics (at least as far as 2000 games go) and of course the "What If" mode that changed some aspects of the game to be more ridiculous and funny (Black Cat can't stop dancing, go up to a blimp and fight a police helicopter, Scorpion's "Here's Johnny!" and Marco Polo between him and JJJ, Mysterio's head bowl has a golden fish, fog producers become GIANT BANANAS etc.)
One small correction, you don't have to go find someone to punch to fill up your "punch meter" while swinging. You can do point jumps or tricks to fill the bar as well. Venom powers was a seriously stupid name for them though.

Well, this is going to sound really nerdy, but the whole reason Miles has the "Spider-man" title in the comics is due to the fact that, sigh, he comes from a different universe where Peter Parker died and he took up the mantle, and not really because Peter is a total narcissist. In fact it's only really due to Miles' popularity that the two of them came to have the whole "teacher/student" relationship at all, since there's been practically half a dozen people to get spider powers over the years that Peter has barely exchanged a few words with, despite them actively naming themselves "Spider-_____" directly because of him and his influence.
Also, yeah, Miles character in this franchise has been essentially neutered to "Peter Parker for people who think that liking Peter Parker has gotten to mainstream", and they're practically the same character. In the comics it's a bit less so, but he's at his best in "Into the Spider-Verse" where he's portrayed as artsy and emotionally intelligent in contrast to Peter's bookworm persona. But you can't make a combat mechanic out of a graffiti habit, so in the bin it goes.
I hope the inevitable sequel-proper makes the web-swinging and parkour a little more skill-based. The game is so pre-occupied with looking pretty that it doesn't give players much first-hand access to mess around. It doesn't have to be super-difficult, just make it more interactive
0:23 This is how I feel about every console generation now. The Sixth Generation was the last time most of the consoles were innovative in some way, and the Seventh was the start of Nintendo including some new gimmick (but just a gimmick) and everyone else just upgrades the old hardware with as few changes as possible. Gens 7-9 are basically the same thing over and over going on fifteen years now.
But they have SSDs now! ... Seriously though, it's all about graphical fidelity these days sadly. At least Nintendo making a home-handheld console was a smart move for the Japanese market, where people were spending the bulk of their non-working hours commuting and not at home.
If one wants a game where you traverse a city like Spider-Man, try Swing Rider on mobile. You can download it, disable cellular data usage and have a little fun swinging about a city, although it’s in a fixed linear path.

Lowpyde They should call him "Brown Recluse"
@@sarafontanini7051 You know you're actually right. It was something he struggled with far more because he believes he could have helped Peter and doesn't know if he could live up to a literal legend.
I would like to mention that the "If you punch dudes a load of times, you build up your enthusiasm for punches meter which enables you to do the super spicy punch, which is like a punch but more so." is the greatest line to describe an ability of all time. Thank you.
It's so weird hearing him make all of these British references, since...well...how often has he been to Britain in the last fifteen years?
The real question is how often has Britain been in him.
I'm sensing some suppressed themes in this review. Even more so than usual, I mean.
It was roughly the length of all 3 DLCs combined with a few more mechanics and additions that helped to cover some of the more annoying issues in the original.
Most notably, you can now call on specific crimes to be committed, making some of JJJ's criticisms seem oddly on point.
As someone from Cardiff, I'd love to see spiderman pissing about there
"Hitting a bad guy into a drumkit with a howler monkey" 😆
Seeing this for the first time while holidaying in Cardiff gave me whiplash lol
I wouldnt mind seeing a welsh spiderman for some reason. Would be interesting to see Marvels take on such a spinoff.
They would need to be able to pronounce any of the names for that
not many skyscrapers here sorry pal
Gives Noire Spider-Man voiced Nichols Cage
Wouldn't be 'diverse' enough.... apparently.....
I mean there was the Captain Britain Spider-Man
Imagining the nutty professor swinging through new york is a visual I didn't know I needed.
Until now.
As a resident of South Wales, about 45 minutes drive from Cardiff, I would be 100% up for Spider-taff.
@@Em_B Ah yes, how foolish of me. Thanks, lol.
To be fair, if you're doing a chase scene there needs to be some penalty for getting too far away from the target. Does sound like they took it too far though.
Can't really cut the bad guy off if you don't know where they're going, can you? If you didn't insta fail you would just be lost.
But you HAVE to aim it, and missing the shot will cause it to just flop and leave you mid-air and falling (since the mech walker can't really swim, it needs the hook for good mobility.)
-
Giving the player the option to try things and fail is fun.
Also, here's a quick and easy fix for, "what if u get lost."
Initiate an auto-save at the start of the chase, and give the player the option to load that save from the menu real quick.
Boom, ez.
...argh, thar she blows, Jenny Agutter is back, been wondering why the lack of jokes around her
It’s good but everyone got ripped of paying full price, should have been the final £25-30 dlc for the original PS4 game
What are you talking about? Ripping people off is literally the entire reason for the "triple-AEYYY" gaming industry's existence.
I got it for $30 at Gamestop new.
I haven't even touched the game since i bought it since tbh I'm not super psyched for it.
@@DetectiveMekova you should be bro its a great game, just a little steep when compared to the original, gameplay wise its great, even better since you got it for 30
The very idea of £25 DLC seems abominable to me.
@@DayOldMeat I completely agree but that price to me does justify this content, full price is ridiculous for a standalone expansion which this is, but its definitely got more content than 90/100 other games dlc's, infamous and uncharted are the only 2 i can think of which come close to it
1:17 Yo, it's Opposing Force!
...I miss my Waifu, Adrian R. Shephard.
Can I like this video 5 times? Finally, someone being up front about the whole this is the least next gen of the next gens.
Things must be really confusing "Hey spiderman! Wait, which one? Y'know, the black one! Maybe he needs a different superhero name..."
I love how Yahtzee manages to make games sound like such utter wastes of time and not fun at all and then compliments them just a very little 😂
Holidaying in Cardiff! 😂😂😂
I'll have you know Spidey would be very welcome! 😅
I don't suppose it matters that Miles begged to be trained by Peter.
Peter is Spiderman. I don't get why these companies think we want to invest in a racially/gender altered version of something we already know. Its just Ghostbusters again
@@AkinNath But Miles is into making music and graffiti whereas Peter isn't. Isn't that plus the skin colour enough?
@@AkinNath Whatever loser, lol. You forgot the hyphen between Spider and Man.
A missed chance to call this format a "DLsequel" .
Was literally thinking that as soon as it said it.
Facebones beat you to it.
2:45 'So now you know, it's me.'
'Riiiight, um, who are you again?'
'You put me away!'
'Oh, did I? Cool!'
'Don't pretend you've forgotten, I was the Chameleon's right hand man!'
I'm sure this was good video but zoned out in awe of my home home city getting a mention at 1:35
3:12 you dont have to call me out like that 🤣
Why can't we have the moments in PS2/GameCube's Spiderman2 where you chased black cat or had to traverse the floating platforms to get to the top of the statue of liberty to use the web swinging in proper game play
It's funny he mentioned the "Spider-Man unmasks the villain and has no clue who they are" because that's exactly what they did back when Electro debuted (and pretty much never again, mind you)
He didn't know kraven or mysterio
3:20
I feel so fucking seen rn
1:19 wasted the opportunity to call it "DLCequel"
Cmon Yahtzee they changed some things, they exaggerated the swagger a lot
Most diligent employee remark... it’s sad, but true. People who do their best are worked harder, and kept in their positions. The talent rarely advances.
Yahtzee has the exaggerated swagger of a black teen, and it gives me goosebumps every time I see it.
I just came to this video after watching a China Uncensored episode on how wall street have sold out to China.
And the first thing I see is "will destroy the galaxy for cash" poster.
It's little things like that in life that make me chuckle with childlike warmth and joy.
God Yahtzee you hurt me with that employee of the month joke but damn was it good hahahaha :,)
The next game should let you play as both Peter and Miles. Imagine you and a friend racing through the skies together, bopping bad guys in the nose like, Batman and Robin. I'd buy it. lol
LOLed at the way Miles does to imps and the "Supah Biff" punch! Also LOLed at the end credits with Jenny Agutter, and the ending too! XD
ahahahah the two nutty professors. Genius, absolutely genius

These post credit jokes are starting to feel like confessions
This seriously should have been a dlc SERIOUSLY
Nah, they can charge more for "full" games.
@@deusexvesania1702 I understand why the company would want to do it. But it just feels like a dlc
@@jlev1028 my main grip is it is just too short. Also the powers are too different.
@@jlev1028 sorry I meant not too different. And also I don't want to argue with a stranger online. You are entitled to your opinion and i an entitled to mine. PEACE ✌️
@@jlev1028 If it smells like DLC, feels like DLC, it probably is DLC. The game feels like something Sony tasked the devs to do midway into production so that they can have something to release on the console. After all, it's not even a sequel. His character and abilities being different don't prove much at all, except that they benefitted a bit by making this standalone.

The joke about Cardiff not having enough buildings elicited a bitter laugh - we can barely move for high-rise student accommodation these days.
But you can't make a combat mechanic out of a graffiti habit, so in the bin it goes.
at 3:07 that was a good one i laughed real hard
You forgot about Bugsnax, the greatest game ever created
Someone has not heard about the One More Day backlash 2:09
You know shit’s hit rock bottom when Yahtzee has an analogy about hot and ugly daughters and the PS4 is the HOT one
That was one of your best reviews. I am getting the feeling you have not been getting your leg over since the baby has brighten your world ;)

I love how he jabbed at hackers. Best strategy is to not care and wait for store stock to come back.
Woo! Shout out to Cardiff 🏴
If one wants a game where you traverse a city like Spider-Man, try Swing Rider on mobile. You can download it, disable cellular data usage and have a little fun swinging about a city, although it’s in a fixed linear path.
This is like a how many smilies can you make in under five minutes and win a lama competition.
Considering what the Venom Strike does, it may as well be rechristened the Super Spicy Punch for the sake of relative name accuracy.
3:48 - Reminds me of AC Brotherhood
This review is full of the exaggerated swagger of a 30-something British game reviewer.
Exaggerated swagger.
No
Of a black teen.

0:35 - I call bullshit on that, Yatz, you didn't give a shit when the PissPour and the XBone launched either :P
Oh man that Cyberpunk review is gonna be insane.
Cloaking definitely makes for a very lackluster stealth mechanic. It's not really stealth if you don't have to, you know, be stealthy.
2 years later, still nearly impossible to get a ps5 -.-
So basically Infamous: Festival of Blood but Spider-Man instead of Cole?
