It's about time we show pyro a bit more love. In this tutorial I'll cover all of the basic things you need to know about airblasting, as well as a few advanced things that more experienced players can try. Hope you enjoy!

i once (accidentally) reflected a rocket into a medic that just popped uber. he ended up falling infront of a huntsman sniper who was taunting for whatever reason. so i got a reflect taunt kill wich is nice.

How to be the worst Pyro ever
Step 1: Damage self so that you have a minor amount of hp missing
Step 2: Find health kit and wait
Step 3: When medic is about to die from after burn near said health kit take it
Step 4: Spam medic while holding out flamethrower or manmelter
Step 5: Immediately die in a way so the medic will see you do so in his kill cam
Step 6: Call vote to kick medic for not healing you.

I was playing 2fort yesterday on tf2, And i walked up the enemy stairs, And there was a sniper with the huntsman and an engineer making a teleporter right. And then i airblasted the snipers' arrow, and KILLED the engineer. It was like, a complete fluke, But it was so cool!
Lmao I remember back on 2fort too when there was a hunstman on the balcony randomly shooting arrows at the other snipers. I decided I should go counter those arrows, and when he shot one at me, I reflected it back to the shooter and got a headshot. That was rly cool considering he just peaked at me to shoot me again but he died before he got me. It's just one of those tf2 things that seem to go on forever in your mind.
I once did something similar and pulled a "get down Mr president" and airblasted a direct hit rocket away from our very vulnerable med who had saved my life earlier in the game with a clutch crossbow. Tf2 can have some wacky and cool moments, sometimes feeling pulled straight from an sfm or movie

@@burritocat5076 I have a similar experience but with the axextinguisher and the dragons fury. It's pretty satisfying to chop down and entire push with many pings of damage.
Some weeks ago, also on 2Fort, I successfully reflected all rockets back at a Soldier and killed him. For first time ever since I started playing TF2 in 2016. Completely accidentally!

HEY! Phlog pyros can extinguish teamates to. Using the man melter we can extinguish teamates and get cries for the weapon for doing so.
But... the MannMelter is so... bad? Every weapon is effective in some way, but the phlog and MannMelter are just not so good compared to stock, degreaser, flare guns, etc.

I honestly never knew air blast existed after playing the game half a year so every time I used demo man or soldier I would be confused why it came back to me and I always thought I just suck so much at aiming that it somehow came back to me

If you notice at 1:15 the rocket goes in the completely wrong direction. That's because the friendly engineer walking in front of the crosshair while reflecting causes the aiming program to go a bit wonky.

Imagine being a spy and ur hatred of pyro has already peaked but you unlock a new fear when a soldier shoots a crit rock at a pyro and he goes flying behind you like he one punch man
Idk if it's changed but if you have crits (random or otherwise) the reflected projectile will reflect as a crit. You can also reflect from behind the enemy if you're close enough. I'd say backstab range and you can reflect whatever the enemy is firing in front of them. Prediction reflects aren't a good habit to get into as it may end up making you beef the first and panic the next but if you're super confident and can read players like a book then go for it. Unless the enemy is a god tier soldier or demo, lots of times their first instinct after seeing an enemy is "shoot first" so predictions there won't be too wrong. Soldiers will tend to learn to look out for you if you can reflect so they'll time their rockets weird but sometimes they wait a bit too long so if you can see a pause coming it's not a bad idea to chip away with your secondary if they're far or fire them if they're close enough. Demos will tend to sticky spam but you can still reflect them. I'd say reflect them slightly up so they travel closer to the demo and have a better chance at hitting him or making him hesitate his dets (if you reflect low there's a good chance it'll just stick to the ground, not travel far, or get caught in weird geometry and still hit you).
A tip for huntsman is to pressure them since they have less bulk than soldier or demo and have less options to really hit you outside melee or smg if they miss. If you're close enough flame them and force them to panic and just spam an arrow, which if you know how long it takes to draw and loose one will be an easy reflect. If they have one drawn already it'll be best to pressure them since they're just let it loose or risk you gaining on them. Engies tend to feel safe and stick with their nests so rescue rangers will be easy to learn as engies will tend to not know the bolts can be reflects and just hold m1 at you. If they do know and have the wrangler then just leave them be. Jarate and Milk are easy to see coming as they're slow but if you know the sniper or scout has it and you're close enough where you light them up, get closer and when you see them take out their jars reflect a slight second after since it'll end up reflecting onto them.

I like being a team player. When my teammates are pushing the cart, I help them, when the point has been captured by my team, I stand on the point and defend it, and when a teammate is on fire, I defend them. Thanks for the vid. I know how to air blast, but I'm not the best at deflecting.

I mean, it’s all based on your computer, and WiFi. A good computer, even some laptops, can run the game well. However, most computers, cannot run a high graphics multiplayer game with bad WiFi. If it’s the computer causing your graphics to be slowed down, that’s hard to fix. But if it’s the WiFi, sometimes having multiple sources using the WiFi at the same time can slow it down. Gl with ur graphics problem.

I just love getting airblasts off cliffs, once on Upward I found an enemy Engie's tele right next to a cliff that no one destroyed, so I crouched next to it and airblasted any enemies that came through it until the Engie finally decided to destroy the tele after I had already gotten 8 kills
Airblasts are a godsend to me, and MAKES the Pyro fun to play.
Honestly, it makes the Pyro the best utility class- stop ubers, guard sentry nests, last second reflects...
Combine that with the Scorch Shot (knockback can often throw people off their game, especially Sniper's, who counter the Pyro well) and it's large hitbox and you can take out pretty much every class.

I knew I could rocket jump from a enemy's rocket as I play Medic so its a must if you want to live but I didn't realize you could do it with Pyro reflect and I remembered when there was a Demo shooting pipes around a corner and I launched myself into the air and got a kill while I was flying through the air with the flare on a sniper and the killed a medic and scout when I landed. I felt like a god and like three guys in the server just went 'OOOHHHHHHHHHH-' into the Voice Chat. Thank you for helping me make that memory. :)

+GeT_PySioR-A-RekT Sad, but true. The tough break update made it so pyros get rewarded for being lazy and the pyros that actually try to do it the good way (like me) get punished. However, other flamethrowers can surpass the phlog if the pyro using them know how to use them correctly.

why such hate towards the phlog nate? have you ever seen a full team wipe with a flamethrower? not to toot my own horn but my 33 killstreak, literally destroying the enemy team says otherwise. which in turn makes it easyier for the team to advance to point/cart. the flamethower does so much and now you even get HEALTH for putting out people! how does that even seem remotely fair to people that use the now completely broken phlog? yet you make wise cracks like babies crying.... which reminds me what the "community" sounded like when the phlog got "buffed". get a grip man people use this gun ( I mained it )because it WAS fun to use.... now its garbage because not enough people will back it. you guys (youtuners) have a VOICE for this community, be careful what you say the next time you want to bash someone elses favorite weapon.... =[

The Phlog was slightly overpowered when the update happened (focus fire and the pyro dies no matter the uber/full health pop). The Phlog before the update was fine. But your telling me to get over myself now the flamethrower can now even heal the user, extinguish players, airblast about 10 weapons, make the player FLY. Totally balanced. The phlog is broken, you give me an Uber yet with low health ill die and wont even be able to use it. Ill get over it when they completely redo the Phlog from the ground up but I wont count on it because their isnt enough babies crying to make the change. BabyFortress2. =/

Honestly, the fact that pyro flies farther than soldier when reflect jumping with his rockets is probably a programming quirk more than anything(This becomes even more apparent when your playing randomizer and you get the rocket jumper on any class other than soldier, you just go flying XD).

Nothing more satisfying then smacking a direct hit soldier with their own rocket. After 100’s of hours in tf2 it still doesn’t get old.
Basically, you can reflect any projectile, BUT you cannot reflect Lasers(besides Cow Mangler), nor bullets(as that is hit scan, there is no object to reflect).
Also, tip for soldiers- If you don't have a shotgun to switch to when up against pyro, assuming you're on even ground, fire the rocket a little bit IN FRONT of the pyro's feet, this way, no matter what pyro does, if he doesn't turn around he gets hit, as even if reflected the rocket simply hits the ground directly in front of him. This does not work on slopes as the reflected rocket can still be aimed.
Nate, I might have come up with a new type of jump: The combo jump! This requires you to be demoman. You shoot a sticky bomb at the ground, and shoot an iron bomber pipe near the sticky. As soon as the iron bomber pipe explodes, detonate the sticky. You will take a ton of damage, but you will go flying! I think you should try it out and make a video on it. Have fun!
On Ubers, I've found it incredibly useful to intercept a medic and push him out of range of the Heavy/Soldier/Demo/Pyro that is being Ubered, wasting the Uber and leaving the Heavy/Soldier/Demo/Pyro vulnerable to my team.
This is a year late but sense you called air blasting someone off a cliff a douche move, then what do you think of air blasting an uber target off a cliff... because I did that earlier and it was so satisfying watching the Ubered soldier fall to his doom while the hopeless medic stares on, regretting all of the decisions he has made up to that point.
Airblasting people off the cliff is very fun on upward. When blue team is on the ramp to capture the point on the left of first red spawn room, you can throw them all into the pith under

What confuses me about this video is the fact the axtinguisher does minicrits, but that change was made in blue moon, which was way after this video came out...
Shots that you CAN airblast: Rockets, Stickys, Pipes, LVL 3 sentry rockets (tell me if there’s anymore alright)
Shots that CANNOT be airblasted: Lvl 1 or lvl 2 or lvl 3 sentry shots, shotguns, pistol, guillotine, sandman, wrap assassin, scattergun shots, revolver shots, minigun shots, syringegun shots, sniper shots, SMG shots (and yeah, that’s pretty much all I know)
Here is something to know: A demo can fire both his pipes and stickies faster than you can airblast. That is not by skill, just that the airblast has a cooldown that is longer then the one from stickys and longer then the granade launcher reload time.So in a 1v1 with a demo,, don't try to reflect all the pipes, dodge some. And for stickes, If the fight hasn't started yet and is waiting for you to come throught the door, bash at the wall to "dodge" them, But if you just misunderstand me, then there is more change of you dying really
