Thanks Captain. I have a 2016 Yamaha F175, appears to be the same filter and process, is that correct??? Also, I was told that you need a "special tool" to remove the filter cover. Obviously you completed the task by hand.

Thanks, you sure you don't need to prime it? On the main gas filter, you do or it can be a bear to start the engine.

he didn't clean any of the dirt out of the fuel filter assembly .... that catches water also.

You will in the end break the water alarm wire in the bottom of the filter bowl if it is turned without disconnecting the connector and let the wire turn together with the bowl.

Thanks Drew. When you run the engine, does air enter the top of the fuel cup; eventually causing a 1 inch air pocket at the top of the cup. I can use the primer bulb to eliminate the air pocket, but if I let the engine run the fuel level sits at about the bottom of the filter element. Do I have a air leak in the tank hose?

No. Shouldn't.

You may have a kink too, follow the line and check that first.

Today when i took boat out it would only run at half power,,like one cylinder is not firing,,it is a 2017 115 4 stroke with only 15 hours ???Rab fine last time i took it out,,,i think it knows it striper season and its wanting to pissme off...isit possible i have a fuel filter problem

could a dirty element shut down the motor while in a forward motion. My 4 stroke died just after plane out and refused to restart

It could be, however it could be one of many other things.
