- My wife and I were out about 12 miles off shore and blew the upper crankshaft seal out and lost majority of the engine oil and had to get towed in. In this video I will show you how to easily change you oil and oil filter on your Yamaha 115 and hopefully save you some money! Hello, Master. I have a question about this engine.
Did it seem like that gasket needed to be replaced?
Gasket seemed fine and could have probably reused it with no issue. But since it comes with a new one in the kit, I change it every time.

My 115 Yamaha lower unit only took 29oz. Is that normal?
Yes, I believe that is the correct amount. I'll be doing mine this week and maybe put a video up on it.
If the engine battery fails. He started the engine in a different way. Without batteries.
