Albert Albert.... this is not music ....not synthesis...but Pure Art. Kudos ! You have amazed a person very difficult to amaze... truly impressed. In my head so many layers are getting added to this.
@@eamfos It's a good tool to star with Semi-Modular synthesis, and has a good sound. Listen to it in my last work: ua-cam.com/video/2wtVxn7rrRI/v-deo.htmlsi=Bj9XM7ruugDusq7L
Mine comes tomorrow and I've been looking around the UA-cams for inspiration videos. This has been my favorite one by far. I'm amazed at everything you've done with some creative sequencing and just five patch cables.
@@AlbertBarean Sure, CV/gate for keyboard notes, but I'd want the synth to be fully controllable, eg full automation from my sequencer of all the parameter control knobs etc... I wonder why they did'nt add a MIDI in port for full MIDI automation, just like on all the other VOLCA synths..
@@HPPalmtopTube I understand you, maybe it's thought of as an independent portable initiation tool to the modular world, especially for completely analogue use. Who wants a Pc if you can touch buttons? ;)
@@AlbertBarean True, it's fun to play with, sculpt new sounds etc... But my workflow is fully MIDI based, I don't record my synth tracks into audio parts as i'm adding parts/channels to my song, I like to have everything (notes, knob/controller automation changes) in MIDI and just push play on my MIDI sequencer software and all the synths start to do their thing, they all play the whole song, and mix all the synth's audio outputs together on a mixer panel... I'm not into doing everything "live" or with audio, eg adjust the knobs in real-time while recording that part into audio pieces in my DAW... (in fact, I use a MIDI sequencer only, not a DAW (eg it does'nt do audio)). I use Cakewalk Pro for MS-DOS on a 30 year old HP 200LX palmtop PC with a 80186 CPU @ 16MHz, using an vintage MIDIMAN parallel port MIDI interface, it's somewhat comparable to using Cubase 1.0 on an Atari ST with MIDI only and a bunch of synths and samplers connected to it, all via MIDI. I guess I'm a MIDI purist LOL ;) I know it might sound limiting, but it's ultra-portable, unique, and if you know Cakewalk inside-out, you can control it at high speed via lots of keyboard shortcuts, mainly, playing and recording MIDI, and quantizing where necessary... I also use a microkorg as my MIDI controller connected to Cakewalk to play the synths and record my MIDI notes of the song, and I have a little 4x4 knob MIDI controller to record knob/controller changes of the synths in Cakewalk... Again, all the other volcas have a DIN-type MIDI in connection, and their documentation comes with a MIDI implementation chart, giving you all the controller numbers to automate all the controllable knobs/values etc... Maybe if they ever release a mk 2 version of the volca modular, they will add a MIDI in connector just like all the others... I understand you can't control the patching via MIDI, as it involves pluging in a little cable between 2 sockets on the synth itself, but there are still plenty of knobs to tweak that could have had a MIDI controller number to automate...
@@HPPalmtopTube Well!!, I'm not famous enough to suggest that korg this implementation, jiji, but that your interesting message is written in case any of his technician reads it. I love your workflow!!
I love this! What exactly happened at 3:53 to fill out that melody? You increased the release knob on LPG1 but I'm not clear how that brought a new melody out from beneath the rest.
Thanks for listening, Mike. In this case, the release knob controls the gate (it´s set with 'fourth' - once every four gate -> "Sequences"), the more you open the gate, the more notes come in.

this is so cool man, every time you were able to just reveal a new tone in addition to the 3 note baseline just by turning a knob it blew me away
Thanks, Tim.
I’m sold. Bleeps and bloops are cool, but you are making this box sing.

Really?? Thank you so much!
Albert Barean ..the shift to 3:54 is sublime....then again then fall back into baritone modulations. Very classical.
@@neoaureus the magic of textures ;)
Yes, I totally agree. As the piece played, I began humming, and then singing, a melody line above it.
Beautiful, thanks.

I have this…and haven’t learnt to use it at all ! You have mastered it….
Time and patience
Great job there.. I love when you hear the spring reverb...thanks this makes me want the Modular
Thank you, Thomas!
At like 3:50 ish mark you made the most amazing ozric like tone and literally made me double check... Hails!
Really? I'm glad!!
TOP 🔥🌍Absolut Perfecr. Dankeschön

Just scored one. Dude thanks my brotha. Perfect first patch!
One of the cooler uses of the instrument I’ve seen. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!! I'll keep working on it
beautifull!
lovely and versatile with a single module, marvelous :)
sometimes simple can be enough 😉
Really excellent work!
Christian Reeb Thanks!

Thanks, Michael, Volca Modular is full of surprises, I hope you enjoy it and let's hear your jobs soon.
Great patch!
Thanks r_josef
Nice usage of the Modular!
I was struggling on which Volca to get my hands on. I think my struggle is over. Such an awesome demo.
Thank you, @HumbleInitiative, I'm glad I solved your doubts ;)
Fantastic. Thanks.
Very nice!!
Thanks, @Seth
muy bueno
Gracias! Me alegro que te guste.
It’s so beautiful! Yeah
Thanks Martin, I'm glad you like it
You’re awesome! Keep on going!
this is the first track that approaches the term "music" that i've heard with the modular. seems more suited for noisemakers than songmakers.
Yeah
Skill men 🙏
Nice job. You know the instrument well.
Thanks antfactor!
Nice patch!
Thanks! Odin.
Nice !
Thank you very much!

Perfect! How you doing this?)
it's made with patience and love. Thanks!
You can literally see how they do it in the video 🤦🏻♂️

I Love 💘 JAMMING with volcas too 😍 💖 💕 💓 ❤ 💗 😍 💖.....
Keep on JAMMING
Thanks! I'll keep doing it
Imagine what Bach would of thought of this…..
he would love it, 😉
dope

I wonder why it has no MIDI in port ??? I'd love to be able to control one from my DAW...
You can use the 'CV in' entry
