Amy & Janis Joplin both got that bluesy church in their voices. But as neither one of them were church singers; I’m guessing that their church bluesy voices came from actual pain in their lives. Both suffered immensely as teens. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️. Both were also Contraltos as I "hear" their voices. Love and miss them both. 😢😢😢
Paul Weller is affectionately known in England as 'The Modfather'. His band The Jam were a groundbreaking punk/soul band in the late 70s/early 80s. Then his band The Style Council had some amazing breezy soul hits through the 80s, since which he's been a solo artist.
dont go to strangers from the same show wiht paul is just incredible ...dont know how many times i watched it and it still blows me away how good she is ...and paul too...
One of my favorite Amy performances for sure..."Don't Go To Strangers" from the same show is also wonderful. As others have mentioned, The CCR (long version) of this is also one to consider for reaction 🔥🔥🔥👍
Another collaboration between Weĺler and Ami is Dont go to strangers well worth a listen and Wellers "You do something to me" is a classic well worth a listen.
Theres some FANTASTIC songs by Paul Weller from the early 90s around 92 onwards in particular from his "Stanley Road" Album.. he's a Phenomenal artists who used to be in a Major Punk band in the 70s and 80s along with the guy who's on Piano in this track Jools Holland who's a bit of a Legend and champion for up and coming artists in England and that's why he gets ALL the top artists from AROUND the world, because MANY of them DEBUTED or DISCOVERED or Became Famous in England or Europe by being Featured on his show which is ALL ABOUT TALENT and NO RIFF RAFF. Amy Winehouse Debuted on his show when she was unknown in 2004! You should check that out! She had a totally different image! STILL AMAZING! BEFORE the bo*ze and Drgs took her.. 👍🏴🇬🇧
fun fact, paul weller is the only other person than the Beatles to have a top 10 album in 5 different decades! 70-80's with The jam, 90's Style council, 2000's/10's/20's Solo
I am obsessed with Amy Winehouse. Have you listened to her Me and Mr. Jones?! She was one of a kind. Tony Bennett admired her style too. They did a duet. Check that out.
If you've heard the original, you might want to listen to the long version of Creedence Clearwater Revival's cover. Check for the long version there are two by them. It's an amazing cover. I didn't care for this one, then again I'm old. Marvin Gaye did it as a cover, then I believe Tina Turner did a cover . The CCR long version, is really good and I liked the original from Gladys Knight.
For a treat for yourself why not check out Paul Weller’s solo stuff. Maybe give “ I walk on gilded splinters” from his Stanley road album a listen too.
Did you see how that bee-atch Paul Weller glared at her when she sang a bit in "his" part? And no, this is Marvin Gaye's song, and Creedence covered it. Creedence did a hella version of it, though--maybe the best.
Oh sweet Jesus, he did not glare at her. Paul Weller has always had the utmost respect for Amy. Weller is not that up himself to behave like that, he has spoken of Amy many times, her talent blew him away. Get a grip
Who requested this? 😂 Edit: I see you prefer videos so here you go, I’m blessing you: Amy Winehouse’s ‘We’re Still Friends.’ Babygirl could sang! ua-cam.com/video/yBCKuR_70QE/v-deo.htmlsi=dwJ9sh2cOX9W8H8h
Credence Clearwater Revival did not write this song. It was written by Strong and Whitfield for Motown. Marvin's version is the best known. CCR did record a 12 min version worth listening to.
You should check out Amy Winehouse doing Me and Mr.Jones live. Also Paul Weller is better in The Jam than this. Move On Up,Start,In The City,Eton Rifles to name a few
THIS is amazing! She was so cool and so very talented!!!! RIP Amy

I love Amy Winehouse. She's another great who was gone too soon
dont go to strangers from the same show wiht paul is just incredible ...dont know how many times i watched it and it still blows me away how good she is ...and paul too...
Their duet of “Don’t go to strangers” from that night is even better.
One of my favorite Amy performances for sure..."Don't Go To Strangers" from the same show is also wonderful. As others have mentioned, The CCR (long version) of this is also one to consider for reaction 🔥🔥🔥👍
OMG Amy ❤
You might enjoy Paul Weller, a great composer and musician. He had 2 bands The Jam and The Style Council plus more recently as a solo artist.
Another collaboration between Weĺler and Ami is Dont go to strangers well worth a listen and Wellers "You do something to me" is a classic well worth a listen.
The CCR version is well worth listening to. Lots of great versions of "Grapevine" out there.
Agree. Their version of I Put a Spell on You is also superb.

Absolutely CCR version. Don’t miss their music dive.
CCR had a lot of great songs, and many chart-topping hits, you will recognize some of them from movies and commercials100%
HER ABLUM FRANK!! F ME PUMPS!! Is a banger!
When I saw her name, just had to tap in!
fun fact, paul weller is the only other person than the Beatles to have a top 10 album in 5 different decades! 70-80's with The jam, 90's Style council, 2000's/10's/20's Solo
oh damn no wayy!! I haven't seen this before..thxthx!! haha
Paul weller ❤❤
Amy Winehouse and Paul Weller performed a cover of "Don't Go to Strangers" on the same show which I would recommend
Written by Whitfield and Strong first recorded by Gladys Knight and the Pips 1966
I am obsessed with Amy Winehouse. Have you listened to her Me and Mr. Jones?! She was one of a kind. Tony Bennett admired her style too. They did a duet. Check that out.
Jools Holland (keyboardist) has the best guests. He was in a band Squeeze in the 80’s. And Paul Weller was the Modfather, check him out too. ✌️♥️🎶

Plenty of great CCR you need to hear regardless!
Makes you proud to be British
I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE HER ❤
First time hearing this and really enjoyed it! Love just about everything from Amy. We lost such a talent in her. 😢
CCR is amzing
Yes please, do Gladys Knight and CCR!
Paul Weller 🔥 Amy ❤
Yes to CCR😊
Эми❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🌹🌹🌹🌹💐💐💐💐
React to "don't go to strangers" by amy and Paul weller. It was performed on the same night.
She blows this performance out of the water.
Fk loved this song by Marvin Gayre
For a treat for yourself why not check out Paul Weller’s solo stuff. Maybe give “ I walk on gilded splinters” from his Stanley road album a listen too.
Have you heard the, I presume original, Marsha Hunt version?
Same concert (don't go to strangers)❤😊
You still need to hear Creedence!
Paul weller is someone you should checkout. Especially during his style council days and his solo career. Way better than his JAM days.
Said no one ever!
Thank you! You should definitely check out her cover of Donny Hathaway’s version of “I love you more than you’ll ever know” by Blood Sweat And Tears!
The CCR version is excellent
On this same session they sang another song 'don't go to the strangers'....even better sang song, if that is possible!
I havent heard this before. Lets go on this journey together.

@@outofthesinking Okay, sure looked like it to me. If looks could silence.

Please do CCR's original.... It'll blow your mind!!!
As much as enjoying this version, I love Angelina Jordan covers.
But no one can top CCR Version
This song was performed originally by Marvin Gaye.
My personal favorite is the Marvin Gaye version, with the CCR long version being 2nd, followed by this Amy Winehouse version in 3rd
Angelina Jordan dropped an EP by the way.
I've been listening to Style Council nonstop lately. Weird
Don't go to strangers - same show
Check out a 13 year old blind girl singing Queens BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY song by the name of Putri Ariani
Gotta do ‘into the void’ or ‘NIB’ by Black sabbath
React to Love is A Losing Game by Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😀
Gladys knight sang the original
Please check out The Jam 'That's Entertainment'
She was high as a kite here
Absolutely disagree - sober as a judge here. I've seen many drunken or high live moments from Amy, & this, imo, is not one of them.
Chino XL God's Carpenter

I don’t like this version the fun of the lyrics is missing. Not a good vibe. Overdone but Amy is so charming. I thought it was the Temptations.
Sorry.
I’m spoiled on Gladys and CCR.
Try Paul Wellers “Sunflower”…!
