Damn dude that's so sad to hear, especially because I had no idea it was on it's last legs let alone CLOSED for good. For anyone lucky enough to visit Fry's in person, they left with such an atmospheric experience. Something as menial as buying batteries was a lil fun adventure. RIP to a great store.
Agreed 100%, it was literally a journey to go to one of these stores. It's insanely sad to see it go, but I'm glad those who got to experience it did get those awesome memories from it
I wonder if their rent killed them. Their stores were enormous.
Thats a very good point too, the cost just to keep that place running and open must have been insane
@@cynusmusic I have experience with commercial rent and some of these huge operations my god their rent is nuts.
@@cynusmusic I keep hearing that margins on electronics is not that good I wonder if that’s true.
@@f1v104 I'm not sure how big or little the margins were in Fry's case either so I wouldn't be able to say. But yeah, their stores apparently couldn't keep up with today's climate unfortunately. That, and the rent, made this story happen
@George Curious exactly, it basically wasn't something that just came out of left field and surprised everyone. It was somewhat of a gradual process
