Yes waste your tax dollars on military contractors (aka gun makers) who can't be bothered to keep our troops equipped but bitch about THIS. How proud your mother must be.
@Heathcoatman Yes, and you get that adrenaline rush by doing something potentially life threatening, hence the descriptor "extreme". I'm not sure what you're trying to clarify?
I wish that you showed pictures with info just a few seconds longer. E.g. at about 10:20 where you show 3 different routes marked out, I had to go back a bit, and freeze the picture to have time to see which colour = which route. And I didn't manage to freeze it on my first attempt before it had already gone past to other images again, without I had to go back a second time to succeed.
Since you have viewers all around the world, the polite thing to do, would be to include metric measurements when telling these stories. Since the whole world, (except the USA) uses the metric system...
I completely agree! Including metric measurements in my videos would definitely make them more accessible to viewers around the world. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Please get your facts right mate, the 1967 Wilcox expedition didn’t take the West Buttress route, they climbed the mountain on the Muldrow Glacier route on the north side. Also the 2 expedition groups were not strictly from East coast and Alaska. Joe Wilcox group consists of members mainly from the east coast while the second group of 3 came from Colorado. Do your research first mate before you mislead everyone and lose credibility.
Although interesting subject matter it's difficult to keep up with the storylines that alternate between ascent and decent, sometimes using ascent when its clearly a descent; Celsius and Fahrenheit; meters and feet not being clarified for distance or windspeeds; and, pounds and kilograms. You pick a hobby/sport that's about 100 times more likely to cause death than any other activity. People with little to no experience can climb and usually die. I have no pity for these people, they chose there fate.
Do you think the thrill of summiting Denali is worth risking lives, or is it an ego-driven challenge?
It’s always an ego driven decision…
If the weather turns take that as your sign and turn around!
Good reminders that no one is above the mountain... however skilled you are, the mountain will always be stronger.
not true. whoever is standing on the summit is literally above the mountain

Yeah it's a trope. It's not like they're forgetting the risks on Denali

i only feel sorry for the rescuers that have to go up there risking they're own life just save these idiots!!!!

people always say this, but they dont realize that the rescuers are also climbers and may need rescuing themselves when they are climbing

Risk vs reward.

Tragedies is incorrect when you purposely put yourself at risk.
That's kind of the whole point of extreme sports. It can still be a tragedy when someone dies due to an avoidable accident.
