I am actually doing this to my first gen SE, my replacement battery will arrive today. It is my backup device though, my main is a 12 mini but I still lobe using the SE because of its smaller size.
I’m going to replace my iPhone 6s today after using it everyday for 7years and 5months. It still has it’s original components. I’ve only been replacing headphones and charging cables.
Yes the 6s is great. I am actually typing this comment on it right now. Battery might need replacing tho, but other than that it’s perfect. It’s actually like a symbol of pride, while everyone has the new one with the funny square camera without the headphone jack I still have the older model.
When a commercial airliner is used for 20 to 36 years we dont need to worry with our i phone,,,,, it will go for ages• just change battery when u have to. Ur new i phone can get stolen as well .... anything is possible ...even human dies.....so lets not break our head rather enjoy what we have till we can.😅
Honestly, I purchased this iPhone XS Max in August last year. It's a 6-year-old model, but I'm still surprised by its performance. It's still fast, although not as speedy as it used to be. According to the battery stats, the battery health is at 73%, but in the battery settings, it shows 79%. It's still performing well, but I'm planning to replace the battery soon. Overall, it's still running smoothly, and I haven't encountered any issues with its performance.
I've been using iphones for me and my family since 2010 and I've only had 1 single failure of a screen of a iphone 5 that stopped responting to touch, it was replaced on warranty. We still have Iphone Xr first gen working just fine with IOS 18 in the family, that is a 6+ year old device used daily. Safest way to break an iphone is to drop it so it gets crack and let moist get into it.
My rule of thumb is like the Olympics, every 4 years, which usually are flagship phones with lots of changes. My iPhone life has been: iPhone 4, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 12 Pro Max and mow the iPhone 12 Pro Max which is in its 4th year. I had the battery replaced in year 3 so I could potentially wait until iPhone 17 Pro Max or I may grab the 16 but I don’t wanna break my 4 year cycle 😂
I still use my old iPhone 6s for podcasts around the house. Can’t recall what year I bought it but I’m pretty sure it was a year after it was released.
One battery replacement for my iPhone 8Plus from early 2019. My mistake is probably updating the iOS regularly. Battery life kinda sucks. It’s at 86%. My phone is so old now that it won’t take any more updates 😂
The iPhone XR & XS has the A12 Bionic and currently I’m still using my iPhone X which I bought way back in 2018’s January and has turned 7 years today but honestly speaking apart from battery issue i.e. poor battery backup (70% Health) I don’t have any issue with the phone whatsoever.. I’m a heavy user because I do gaming, heavy multitasking, social media apps, photo & video editing apps, etc and everything works perfectly like a charm with no lags nothing.. The only issue is with the battery for which I need to get it replaced and it will be good to go for 2-3 more years easily no problems.. ✌️
this is a wrong asumption you’ll have no problem since day one: ip13 user since march 2024 numerous glitches with typing, a bit of freezeng sometimes and others. this is my first ios device some things annoy me but overall I like it very much but some of you are just apple fan boys and see nothing aldo you Daniel for saying the are perfect since day one without any isssues
You need to tweak some settings in settings to get the most battery life. By not keeping iOS updated, you risk vulnerability attacks as well as viruses or malicious app attacks. If you really don't use any apps at all, you're better off with a flip phone. It lasts longer than the iPhone and does not draw much for battery power.
This is such garbage! Are you buying used iPhones? I’ve owned new iPhones since the 3 and I’ve never experienced ANY of the issues you described in the “2nd” year except battery slowly losing charge over the years. Operationally, I had ZERO problems that were the phone and not software bugs fixed by updates. The iPhone is not glitchy after the first year and anyone who actually buys them would know that.

Best Thing is to Replace Your Battery on 3rd Year of ownership.

Same for ipads?
@@h.albertmayorga5522for iPads, apple just gives u a reburshed iPad instead of the same device, and getting a third party replacement is iffy
how much that costs? May Samsung 10 years no issues.
I have a iPhone 11 still works fine battery is 84 percent Great video
Just change the battery it’s like 70 dollars
In Australia, warranties on tech is for 2 years by law and even when Australian apple stores replace a battery, it has a 2 year warranty

That phone still gets security updates too, apple support their old phones for a long time

3 years here. Every time 😂
Still using my $700 2010 IPHONE I bought new. Also still using my 2010 IPAD. I am thinking of upgrading the keyboard case.

6:04 they use a12. The 8 and X use a11
Does android phones like S24 ultra undergone same changes or is that phone more long lasting than any iphone?
Interesting topic

the phone was 2 and a half years when you got it. I have a 13 mini I got in 2022 and it still runs perfectly.
Just don’t update iOS to get better battery life!
