The reason why the Ioniq has a small frunk is because Hyundai decided to emphasize interior room space over frunk space so they put many of the mechanicals i.e. air conditioning electrics within the front. This frees up space to offer more leg room which the presenter demonstrated.
@@TheMedianGam3r I can’t believe people are comparing Hyundai with Tesla and coming up with such ridiculous statements as the one above about space rolf!

Give me my model 3 performance any day. Having a button to change the drive mode was just added in a recent software update. Tesla is truly the apple of cars. All these other companies make good hardware. But there is no comparison vs Tesla software. That’s what makes them superior.
One thing to say about "auto presenting door handles" is that they all present at once. The negative of that is it increases the risk of damage to the control system in ice and snow and it increases the risk a door won't close because the frozen mechanism is stuck half way in between open and close. I personally have no garage and need to park outside, which in the cold northeast means lots of ice and snow. Tesla M3 & MY are great because the door handle is manual plus it is possible to use the app to pop the door without even using the handle, both of which are very useful when the outside of the car is covered in ice. Not a show-stopper by any means, but in certain use-cases (like mine), it can be a real pain in the A if the door handle gets stuck.
I‘m pretty sure, Hyundai has considered this circumstance. Furthermore the automatic door mechanism is only available in the two biggest packages. In the smaller ones it works exactly like in the Tesla.
I test drove an ionic 6 recently, I think it is really a fantastic car, but the three things the model 3 has over it is the EV credit, the infotainment, and the acceleration. I think I would still choose the model 3 over it. I tried the infotainment in the ionic, its basically unusabally slow still, especially while using maps, so android auto/carplay would be used every single time.
The tax credit is the biggest loss for me. Last year I got the Ioniq 5 because it had the tax credit and Tesla did not. It's fast enough and Android Auto / Apple Car Play is always available.
This is right on. I test drove both last week and I totally agreed with your analysis. Ioniq 6 riding quality is much better but missing $7500 tax credit, autopilot way behind, sluggish infotainment system, and nowhere close to Model 3 acceleration. As someone coming from BMW 7 series, I prefer Ioniq 6 suspension and how comfortable it is compared to Model 3. If Model 3 improves the suspension and ride quality then I'll be all over it.
The problem with this review is the same we see with most reviews: it downplays the importance of the charging network. Right now, and probably for the next 5 years or more, there's only one choice if you want an EV for more than just driving around town: Tesla. Third party networks are too small and far too unreliable.
@@Gjeebs That does simply not matter. ANY time anyone posts a review, that review stands on its own. You cannot leave out the single most critical piece of information and still claim that you've done a fair or honest review.
@@bigdi77 That dude literally parked a Model 3 in this video to do a "comparison", which mostly ended after the frunk. This video is more like a cheap Hyundai commercial than an actual detailed comparison.
I just went to test drive the Hyundai Ioniq 6 SEL, then the Tesla. For the last 10 years I have driven German (Benz/Porsche). The Hyundai interior wasn’t it for me, although the leg room in the front and back was phenomenal. It felt very “sedan”, I like more of a sporty feel. It did have an amazing feature where the car can back in and out to “self-park” by pushing a button on the key fob. The price tag on this HYUNDAI is $58K, with a $5K rebate from the dealer. Then I went to Tesla, and there just isn’t a comparison IMO. The technology, speed, battery range, and charging network is far superior. Tesla has just been in the game so much longer, they are light years ahead in many facets. I agree Interior is “basic”, which is an adjustment for me since I have driven cars with so many buttons and lights you feel like you are in a cockpit. 😂 The final decision maker is the fact that with rebates/tax credits it is CHEAPER than the IONIQ. My Porsche Macan has had $5K in repairs/maintenance this year already, not including gas. Looking forward to making the switch.
This was solid information right up until the dude said he would pick the Ioniq over the Tesla for a road trip. Nobody is picking EA’s charging network and that itself lost credibility of that individual.
Winner but for price and charge network. Two of the key metrics for most EV a buyers, so Tesla still wins out. Nice competition though to keep things moving forward in the space.
Build quality is the most important thing for me. Build quality and mechanical refinement. I'm not in the school that says technology and efficiency trumps build quality and mechanical refinement so I don't choose Tesla. New Hyundai, Kias and also Toyotas and Subarus have excellent ride quality. They're almost as good as luxury cars like Benz and Audi.
I traded a 3 for this and it was best decision. Ioniq exceeds its quoted range vs the 3 which was at least 30% below advertised. My wife gets sick in seconds in a tesla but nothing in the ioniq. Difference between something designed as a car first and one designed as an ipad first.
I've been a passenger and a model 3 a few times and it was decent overall. I took the Ioniq 6 limited for a test drive today and was so impressed with how smooth and quiet it was and how nice everything felt. The car looks much better in person and is very impressive. I'm really tempted to buy one myself now.
The Ioniq is very attractive. I just wish it were more efficient. Just saw Bjorn do some range testing and it isn't as efficient at the Model 3. But then again it is a bigger car and heavier than the Tesla. It seems like it is quiet, well made, but has some rough edges they need to sort out. Battery conditioning and some other things appear to not be quite figured out. The Model 3 needs to sort out the suspension to be more comfortable. I like the mix of controls in the Hyundai's with both screens and buttons/controls for common access things. Well done Hyundai. It seems like a very well made car. Tesla isn't as refined or as luxurious as the Hyundai's.
The efficiency ratings on Bjorn's tests were close between the Tesla M3 lr and the RWD Ionic 6. The differences could easily have been made by the temp difference (9 degrees vs 25 degrees) and the headwind. Bjorn is good but, unless it's head to head on the same day and same conditions, there will be environmental factors. Given those factors, the cars are very very close in efficiency, if not equal.
I have an Audi q5 and a model 3.I don’t really get the complaints about the suspension. They feel close, you can just hear the road more because of no engine. I plan on switching the Audi for a model y LR or P soon . I can’t really even stand driving the Audi anymore
The Ioniq 6 trunk is almost half the size of the Model 3 trunk. The Ioniq 6 frunk is much less than half the size of the Model 3 frunk. Ioniq 6 total cargo volume is less than half the Model 3 total cargo volume. The Ioniq 6 passenger volume is smaller than the Model 3 passenger volume. So the Ioniq 6 is bigger on the outside and heavier. That does no one any good. Great design Hyundai.
@@dvader3263 Eh? Check out Bjorn's Banana Box test. The Model 3 beats the Ioniq 6 in trunk space 7-5 while in overall cargo+passenger space (seats down) the Ioniq 6 beats the M3 21-17.
@@dvader3263 Wrong math. The I6 is much longer than the M3 where most of that length was given to the rear passengers. Lowering the seats actually gives more cargo room than the M3 by a lot.
Living in rural upper midwest area, and the lack of a charging infrastructure other than some Tesla super chargers, road trips are darn hard to many places I want to go. The route planing in the 6 is not nearly as good as the Teslas, and its price is hampered by no tax credit. However, if the charging situation gets better and the route planing software improves I think for me I would go for the 6 over the Tesla M3
Some of the recent software updates for the 3 and the Y have nailed range figures…won’t even say range estimates. Our Y is now always within 1, maybe 2miles of projected range. Gotta agree with the much harsher suspension of the 3 and definitely the Y.
You basically are forced to get the smaller wheel with the thicker tire for a good ride. But the range complaints haven't ever been a thing for me. The right type of tint or reflective material in the roof to block the heat makes the cars range always do much better than predicted. The camera system sucks the most power though. Hopefully newer CPUs come out and help on that power efficiency front.
If Tesla had more analog buttons it would be a clear front runner. My argument is that the “simplicity” of only having a screen is actually counterintuitive because your eyes are constantly glued to the screen. With a traditional car, sure there are a lot of buttons, but it quickly becomes second nature and you never have to look when doing things like AC or wipers
It does take longer time to get used to them, but the touch screens too become second nature given enough time. You end up leaning one of your finger either at the top edge or the bottom edge and slide around. It now only takes a small fraction of a second to "press" any buttons, just as it has been for my BMW X3 which of course, are physical buttons. One thing you should never do, is to hang your finger in the air and press "buttons" like an arrow hitting the target... That's much harder. Plus is that they can create new "buttons" or change layout for the better without changing your car...
Tesla owners (of which I am one) seen to defend the lack of physical buttons and even go one step further to tell critics why it’s better. I am somewhat used to the lack of physical buttons and overall I love driving my Model 3, but I still side with you-physical buttons and vent adjustments are just better.
I don't agree. I own a Nissan Leaf and the only buttons I regularly use are windows and volume/temp dials. When I actually want to do something I don't normally do, I have to waste a lot of time fiddling with buttons and it'd be very dangerous to do while driving (and actually ends up being wasted time at the start of my trip). It's not second-nature and it never has been with any car I've owned. Now that I really stop and think about it, I look for literally every button I push. So no, I'm fine with having to look over at a tablet and tap an icon to do something, or press a button on the wheel easily within reach and say a command. Sounds a hell of a lot easier than muscle-memorizing a bunch of physical buttons (which I never will do based on previous car experience). Do people honestly actually control all their physical buttons by muscle memory? Sounds insane to me. Maybe next time you drive, you should consider whether you're taking a quick peek to verify your AC button is where it has always been (just like how someone would take a quick peek at a Tesla screen). So silly to me you think their eyes would be "constantly glued to the screen".
I highly agree with you on the tax credit. It is the only reason I bought my car. I own a small business and next year I will finally get $ back as opposed to paying taxes. Owned my tesla since January. It’s the lfp rwd. Did my first road trip in it this weekend Las Vegas Nv to elko nv thru Utah. About 640mi there and 640mi back. Going the speed limit in gas car is just over 9hr. I drove it in 9.5sh but also got 2 speeding tickets, but the range was actually amazing. And resting during chargers is great. Will not be speeding like that on any other road trip for sure.
Hands down the Ioniq 6 is a sexier car with more features than the aging Model 3, but Tesla has so many more years of EV engineering experience and refinement, plus they come to your house to fix anything that's not major. Having said that, for just Hyundai's 2nd EV, it's very refined.
@@BearMetro Granted, especially Model 3 and Y are a bit stiff at times. In any case its good to see a solid competition going. The more those companies compete the more variety and quality should emerge. Although I have yet to see a line produced car that matches efficiency, safety and software of Tesla vehicles.
But Hyundai is more refined in the car aspects. More solid build quality, much better ride quality, better NVH. Tesla is a tech company so that's where they're more refined, but not in the mechanical car areas.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Well when Musk said at several shareholder meetings that he didn't want Tesla EVs to be their core business, that should raise red flags. He's hell bent on robots, A.I. and automation.
Ask him which car he wants to take after he goes on a road trip. Does the super charger networks make a difference. I understand from the aspect of the car itself. Maybe he prefers that car but the supercharger network makes a huge difference.
No one talks about ID4. I bought 2021 model and it came with 3 year unlimited EA charging. I save about $2k-$2.5k a year with this. That is roughly $7k saving over the 3 year period.
They are very close except for charging, minor tech like autonomous driving, in car entertainment (games, video), dog/camp mode, summon car, advanced crash protection, acceleration, range, price, reliability and not having to go to the dealer. 2.5 seconds slower of the line vs Tesla and so on and so forth. But minor stuff you can’t mention when getting sponsored. American Tesla all the way baby, don’t get it twisted 😊
Have you ever compared driver assist features and cost between the two ? What if as an example I don’t buy Tesla “Autopilot”. Does the Ioniq 6 have default driver assist features ? Does Tesla ?
Thanks for the review. First time I’ve seen the ionic up close. I find the model very strange looking. Wasn’t a fan of the 3 initially either but it’s grown on me
Guys think about it, the only thing that can be faster than a real PDK DCT or sequential would be an electric one. These shifts will be super fast with no noise if the can get it just right! I can't wait for this car. I'm putting the first one on order in the US.
if you want really high sound quality, it should probably be connected with a cable. And a streaming service that offers Lossless or better or if you have music on a USB stick that is in Flac or better. for the car here probably not a really good Bluetooth Codec such as APTX HD or LDAC
Just try to configure Ioniq 6 to have almost same features as Tesla base model and you will end up in 15k price difference at least here in europe. That is big chunk of money that you can spend to get the performance or even long ranged Tesla model.
Hyundai makes beautiful cars, but under the hood, it's a bit of a crapshoot. I am looking forward to the long-term reviews. I do not like the 6 styling, but I do like the OTA updates. An Ioniq 5 body with Ioniq 6 drivetrain updates would be hard to pass up.
I don't use the frunk day to day either, but I stuff all the charge cables, first aid kit and stuff that I rarely use in there because it wastes space in the actual massive boot. The Tesla door handles don't confuse me, because its my car, but they still suck badly. The two tone looks crappy. The software ware in the Ioniq is terrible. No supercharger network. The best part of the Hyundai is that its got that standard toughness that a regular car has, along with the FRAMED doors. Prefer the window controls on the door. I'd still buy a Tesla again at this stage, but Tesla really needs to start adding features like cooled seats, seat heater buttons for the rear etc etc. The Hyundai has black headliner, and it looks very cool, I hate that the Model 3 and Y do not have this as an option.
What? Not wireless carplay! That is a huge deal to me. And sorry simple things like push buttons are a thing of the past. I love just stepping in and out of my tesla without the need of a start button
Both good choices. Hyundai is probably more comfortable, because of the smoother ride. More performance and range with a Model 3. The AWD Tesla has 353 vs. 270 for the AWD Hyundai. Also, zero to 60 on the Tesla LR is 4.2, or 3.7 with boost. Don't miss lack of Apple car play in my Tesla. Tesla road trip experience is likely better due to a superior public charging network. If I lived in Arizona, and owned a Tesla, I would definitely purchase the sunshade for the glass roof.
The ioniq 6 AWD long range SE model has 316 miles of range. Everyone here also seems to forget that the Hyundai charges faster than the Tesla by close to 50%; I've seen many real world tests of it going from 10 to 80% and around 18 minutes on electrify America chargers at Walmarts even though according to Tesla owners they don't exist and no one can ever use them anywhere. 0 to 60 I believe is around 4.8 seconds so not too bad. I've seen both cars in person and the Hyundai is hands down superior and fit and finish and just an overall luxury feel and attention to detail. I'm 6'4 and when I took it for a test drive it was no problem and it is smooth and quiet I believe it also has double pane glass in all the windows.
I must be the only one who thinks the ionic 6 is hideous. I’ve seen three in Washington state, and at least to my eyes they’re even uglier in person would pick a model 3 or Y any day,
Don't get the sport wheels on a tesla it makes the ride kinda bad tbh. The thicker wheel is way way better. But that selection locks you out from performance so you just get the LR with a mod/software upgrade and it's still so much faster than 99% of cars on the road...
Sorry but until these non tesla car companies provide a reliable charging infrastructure that rivals tesla, i will always choose tesla. not to mention correct me if im wrong but tesla 3 still qualify for 7500 fed rebate, Hyundai do not.
The navigator is probably not as good as in Tesla? the disadvantage is probably also Lack of Entertainment. and the charging networks in the USA apparently do not work very well. Tesla Superchargers are considered to work best
I was of view of having traditional design, until I got my Model Y. Minimalistic design feels much clean, better to me now, than those of traditional one.
IONIQ 6 does not only have the horizontal light bar in the center, but so much more ambient light on the door handle areas and you can customize the colors.
The exterior and interior of the Ioniq 6, kills the Model 3 completely, much nicer, and with Hyundai great build quality, the Ioniq 6 is a no brainer, Tesla on some tech is behind the Koreans.
no other car can compare to the tesla for pure new experience enjoyment. The speed, range and tech and simplicity makes it the best. All the others are regular cars with all the buttons and switches and less range and almost no zip or thrill.......others are MEH
The guy says he would prefer the Hyundai on remote trips using the electrify america network. Every car brand just aanounced their switching to Tesla charging standard because electrify america experience is terrible 🤨
@@TurreTuntematon Toyota Corolla refreshes every 7 years or so. The VW Golf does as well. The VW may be evolutionary but they don't stick with the same basic design more than 8 or so years. And beyond that and bigger, the platforms change offering more rigidity, solidity, safety, etc. Tesla has a lot of updates and such but the basic platform still remains.
Can the 18 inch wheels on a Model 3 be replaced using the 18 inch wheels from the Ioniq 6? I am leaning toward the Model 3, but I'm not a real big fan of the 18 inch Aero black wheels. The Ioniq 6 has the 18 inch wheels with the silver blades on them that I think look much more sleek.
Interior alone, I pick the Hyundai. Looking at the model 3's interior, the interior is missing every gauge and button and replaced with a center-mounted tablet. lol!
“Today we’re gonna see what they really both have” - that never happened, sorry to say. You only drive the Ionic. Your only focus is the Ionic. You only sit in the Ionic. You only highlight details on the Ionic and almost not the Tesla. You totally ignore the Super Charging network. There are so many things and important fact that you don’t cover. If you started out with saying: “Today i’m gonna tell you why I favor the Ionic over the Tesla with my biased mindset and little insight” that would have been the the truth. Other than that you do a great job 😉
I am fine with taxpayer dollars mostly going to vehicles and batteries from North America. It would have been better to say just US vehicles get the rebate, but Ford and GM have invested heavily in Mexico, so no surprise that got included. In the end, nice to see another EV on rhe market for North America.
Yes indeed - for everyone outside of the US (Including Korea which should be the ultimate authority given it's a Korean brand) the pronunciation is similar to HIGH-UHN-DYE (hi-un-dai) with a slight emphasis / inflection on the second syllable.
I was surprised when he said he'd want the Ioniq for a road trip. Must be a lot of options there for the charge network. I know first hand how bad that network can be. I feel like I'm gambling every time I drive out of town. Will it be available? Will it be up and running? We'll see. I'm not sold on this being better than Model 3. It seems like the one advantage is ride quality, and I've yet to ride in a Model 3 so I don't know how much that really would matter to me. I feel like I wouldn't want to trade a bunch of bonuses for ride quality. Feels to me like this owner is just enjoying Cult of the New and being hyped over his new car. Would've been nice to see comparisons to things like responsiveness of the GPS or if you have to set up one-pedal driving every time like the Ioniq 5 does (which is a deal-breaker for me). Maybe unique things he misses when he drives each car from what the other has.
A lot of these reviewers keep leaving out the fact that the Hyundai charges almost 50% faster than the Tesla. 10-80 in 18 minutes with a 350 kw charger. There are lots of videos of people doing it on UA-cam at electrify America stations.
@@MikeMPharmaCyclist I'm in a Leaf and I don't have issue with the charge time. I more often have issue with the charge *network.* I'm fine waiting 15-45 minutes for a charge. Most of the time when I need 30 I just go eat food and come back and it's never an issue. How often can you get to a charge station that is 350kW and available? I doubt it's often. Certainly not around me. (Plus, as I originally said, the only advantage seems to be ride quality. Why would I care if I spend slightly less time charging, especially since I'd only ever be charging during road trips which are incredibly rare?)
It would be interesting to do this again with an upcoming M3 update model. This said Hyundai has a much better build quality and, get this, in my country teslas charging network is actually inferior to an alternatives namely ionity. For me personally Ill go for Ioniq5 due to my back problems and a superior more upright seating position. Plus overall I beleive I5 has a more superior desig. Hopefully tesla will start putting more emphasis on build quality and updating existing models sooner. Looking forward to MY refresh, curtent seats in MY makes my back sweaty, cant have that in 60k car, MYP.
Easy. Would always choose Tesla over Ioniq - better acceleration, abundance of charging facilities so never have to worry about that. The Ioniq definitely looks nice, but essentially has copied a lot of features from teslas. Just like other EVs have too.
I use my MY's or the Mustang's frunk every single week multiple times. All groceries, all hardware store stuff, all food items, etc. If it fits, it goes in the frunk. If I still was in the market and your car didn't have a large frunk, your car would not make my shopping list.
Let’s see no Tesla supercharger access for the most part of this time, so road trips are no go for the most part. Looks of that ionic six it’s just like a Volkswagen cc so that’s a no go especially with that rear end. At the end of the day when it comes to reliability Tesla is years ahead of any ionic
@@Chris-vz2kv It makes perfect sense. Tesla believes they can use the car as part of their robo taxi network at the end of the lease. Hyundai does not. But none of that addresses the problem of taking a road trip in the Ioniq. Road trips are an important capability for any car priced over $10K.

Third party networks are too small and far too unreliable.
I've said it so many times in other videos I got tired of saying it
That the owner also has a Model 3 shows how rich EV buyers are. Although probably the typical EV owner also has a BMW X5 for longer range drives.

No rebate, no tesla supercharging, and more expensive than tesla? Yeah... no.
So I actually just test drive one. Quite nice… but still expensive and small range for the SEL models. Inside it is far far nicer than Tesla.
100% 😆 said the same thing as soon as he said that
Winner but for price and charge network. Two of the key metrics for most EV a buyers, so Tesla still wins out. Nice competition though to keep things moving forward in the space.
i'll choose ioniq 6 easily for a better build quality alone.
Excellent review. One thing I wondered about was the trim level. Given that it has a roof that opens I would guess it’s the Limited.
Owner is 100% correct to buy the Hyundai. Better car
You can buy physical buttons for your Tesla just FYI
I'm curious about the "more features" part.
As if Hyundai hasn't been manufacturing cars for longer...
The Hyundai is a much smoother and quiter ride.
Got a MYLR 3 weeks ago. Already used to having no buttons and the minimalistic design.
Ask him which car he wants to take after he goes on a road trip. Does the super charger networks make a difference. I understand from the aspect of the car itself. Maybe he prefers that car but the supercharger network makes a huge difference.
A road trip relying on Electrify America sounds very painful 😢
It’s like having to rely on dirty gas station bathrooms versus having your own private bathroom
No one talks about ID4. I bought 2021 model and it came with 3 year unlimited EA charging. I save about $2k-$2.5k a year with this. That is roughly $7k saving over the 3 year period.
Dude, ID 4 is a dog and no one is buying that compliance vehicle.
How is he sponsored?
Who is sponsored?
It's nice, it's nice, nice car
If he’s sponsored he’s legally required to inform the viewers
If he was sponsored he wouldn’t be borrowing someone else’s car to do the comparison
If there are other comparisons you would like to see or different features to point out in future videos let me know!
Do the Mercedes EQB and the other benz EQ models.
Does it have dash cam? The ability to record while driving?
Rimac Nevera vs Chevy Bolt
Have you ever compared driver assist features and cost between the two ? What if as an example I don’t buy Tesla “Autopilot”. Does the Ioniq 6 have default driver assist features ? Does Tesla ?
Thanks for the review. First time I’ve seen the ionic up close. I find the model very strange looking. Wasn’t a fan of the 3 initially either but it’s grown on me
“Map planning, so you can see the electrify america stations and plan accordingly on your trip” LOL 😆 good luck with that.
Guys think about it, the only thing that can be faster than a real PDK DCT or sequential would be an electric one. These shifts will be super fast with no noise if the can get it just right! I can't wait for this car. I'm putting the first one on order in the US.
I must have missed the comparison part. There was no description of the Tesla model 3 features.
if you want really high sound quality, it should probably be connected with a cable. And a streaming service that offers Lossless or better or if you have music on a USB stick that is in Flac or better. for the car here probably not a really good Bluetooth Codec such as APTX HD or LDAC
Awesome channel, very sincere and pleasant to watch unlike many others repeating the same info and facts again and again. Subscribed and thank you!
Unfortunately only one has the tax credit. But in January it'll be much closer competition when the tax credit I think is cut in half.
An Ioniq 5 body with Ioniq 6 drivetrain updates would be hard to pass up.
so which do you prefer??
hyudnai is using the loophole for the tax credit.....you get the 7500 as a cap reduction on a lease....just lease it if you want that 7500...
Frunk is also nice for carrying stuff that's dirty and smelly... :)
5:02 - Roars like a hamster passing gas. But seriously, the sled is still cool.
What? Not wireless carplay! That is a huge deal to me. And sorry simple things like push buttons are a thing of the past. I love just stepping in and out of my tesla without the need of a start button
Go into a Hyundai dearer and test drive one. It’s amazing and gets lots of looks.Still don’t know where to go to buy or test drive a Tesla.
I’ve seen three in Washington state, and at least to my eyes they’re even uglier in person would pick a model 3 or Y any day,
In our country, ioniq 6:is usd25k more expensive than Tesla 3. Enough said. Nobody wants to pay that much for min range gain.
Don't get the sport wheels on a tesla it makes the ride kinda bad tbh. The thicker wheel is way way better. But that selection locks you out from performance so you just get the LR with a mod/software upgrade and it's still so much faster than 99% of cars on the road...
What about fuel efficiency? Miles per kWh: Which one is better?
Sorry but until these non tesla car companies provide a reliable charging infrastructure that rivals tesla, i will always choose tesla. not to mention correct me if im wrong but tesla 3 still qualify for 7500 fed rebate, Hyundai do not.
The navigator is probably not as good as in Tesla? the disadvantage is probably also Lack of Entertainment. and the charging networks in the USA apparently do not work very well. Tesla Superchargers are considered to work best
Over the air updates? Full self driving? 0-60 in 3.1sec? Yea I will stick with my Model 3
I won't give up my dash cam.
The government is also trying to bring jobs here. They are also trying to help out the US auto industry and Tesla is Americas shining car brand
dealer markups/charging network along with no tax rebate unless leasing are a huge turnoff
Ppl like these are the reason dealerships are marking the price up. Making even the used vehicles so expensive
I was of view of having traditional design, until I got my Model Y.
Minimalistic design feels much clean, better to me now, than those of traditional one.
I call it a “fun-dai”
Tesla: the fastest cars with the slowest drivers. And don’t forget the custom license plate showing your creativity of your last name…
Nice car. If he only charges at home it will work out. Road trips using the current CCS infrastructure will suck.
Electrify America works fine for me and I got ev6 gt no problem whatsoever
I’ve driven coast to coast in my MachE. Not an issue.
Would still go with tesla. The minimalistic design is the way to go for me. Love my Y
Styling is a subjective thing, but I still think the M3 is a sexier looking car.
It appears that if you plan to "lease" a non-US made EV you get the $7.5K rebate.
The guy says he would prefer the Hyundai on remote trips using the electrify america network. Every car brand just aanounced their switching to Tesla charging standard because electrify america experience is terrible 🤨
Shouldnt it be compared with Model S?
People forget how OLD most all Tesla models are. And for that they are excellent compared to all the new EV’s that copied a lot.
Old and stale too… they desperately need a body redesign
Old like the VW Golf? Or Toyota Corolla?
@@TurreTuntematon Toyota Corolla refreshes every 7 years or so. The VW Golf does as well. The VW may be evolutionary but they don't stick with the same basic design more than 8 or so years. And beyond that and bigger, the platforms change offering more rigidity, solidity, safety, etc. Tesla has a lot of updates and such but the basic platform still remains.
How about the brunk? Is there a fotor and or a botor? Don’t you mean reat instead of rear seat?
Strangely, the RWD version in the Uk has a bigger Frunk.
Dealer in Saskatchewan has a demo ioniq 6, went to drive it and was told its a 4 year wait for one. I walk away.
“Then you hear the engine roar to life”😭😂
Can the 18 inch wheels on a Model 3 be replaced using the 18 inch wheels from the Ioniq 6? I am leaning toward the Model 3, but I'm not a real big fan of the 18 inch Aero black wheels. The Ioniq 6 has the 18 inch wheels with the silver blades on them that I think look much more sleek.
Wow Ioniq 6 really looks awesome

Why’s agent Smith in the back seat? No comments from him?
Thanks for doing this, those ads went too far!
Hey... what dongle you used to have apple carplay wireless?
Interior alone, I pick the Hyundai. Looking at the model 3's interior, the interior is missing every gauge and button and replaced with a center-mounted tablet. lol!
I expected to see a comparison, not an ad.
The Y in Hyundai is pronounced too. I’m only saying this because you mastered the last syllable 🙃
Why would I care if I spend slightly less time charging, especially since I'd only ever be charging during road trips which are incredibly rare?)
packaging things smaller? I think that design is intentional.
Love what Hyundai as a brand are doing, giving the market a true alternative.. New Kona 2024 EV looks very interesting infeed.
Hopefully tesla will start putting more emphasis on build quality and updating existing models sooner. Looking forward to MY refresh, curtent seats in MY makes my back sweaty, cant have that in 60k car, MYP.
If you want to drive out of your local area nothing makes sense but a Tesla currently.
Ridiculous statement. I’ve driven coast to coast without issue on non SC networks.
Tesla M3 all day…
Is that a solar panel on a back of that spoiler on the 6?🔎
So where is the comparison come in
Great overview thank you. Hyundai has a another winner here. If only it qualified for the Fed Tax subsidy.
It does if you lease it
Let’s see no Tesla supercharger access for the most part of this time, so road trips are no go for the most part. Looks of that ionic six it’s just like a Volkswagen cc so that’s a no go especially with that rear end. At the end of the day when it comes to reliability Tesla is years ahead of any ionic
I just bought the ioniq because they allow buyback with lease. Makes no sense that Tesla won’t let lessees buy the car after.
@@Chris-vz2kv Sure Lisa Cell not a good investment this time
@@Chris-vz2kv It makes perfect sense. Tesla believes they can use the car as part of their robo taxi network at the end of the lease. Hyundai does not. But none of that addresses the problem of taking a road trip in the Ioniq. Road trips are an important capability for any car priced over $10K.
