A three-year-old boy from China’s Heilongjiang province has become an internet star thanks to his amazing Chinese calligraphy skills. Gao Yubo picked up the skills by observing his mother. He wrote his first word when he was just one.

He is so calm for a 3 year old. Such concentration and focus is rare at that young age.
Not really rare if you actually know how to teach children how to do things. Kids are like sponges and soak in information fast. I wouldnt say this is a rare feat for a child, but decent parenting and support for their child that's willing to learn.
Aight. My opinion is based on my observation of elementary school kids. Had a chance to observe a bunch of them for few years. Sure there will be such kids, but given current parenting and lifestyle, they are rare in reality. Of course, anything is achievable theoretically.
As a professional chinese calligraphy writer his style may be a little rough but managed to write them out extremely perfect. A Chinese proverb once told me that "the perfect calligraphy is written through 18 bottles of ink". But this dude mastered the basics probably through barely one bottle.
HE is the living proof of REINCARNATION.
@@pincylakosi8832 or that rote memorization works.
@@VoidHalo rote memorisation may be enough to gain above average proficiency in a skill but to become an expert you need both innate talent and practice
@@kiyoponnn Rote memorization IS practice. At least, that's the main way it's done. I guess it can be done verbally or visually but you're right, you need hands on experience. And LOTS of it. It reminds me of the freakishly young child "prodigies" that North Korea produces. You see a stage with 30 5 year old kids all playing a variety of instruments as well as most professional adults. They didn't just pluck some genius kids out of thin air. It came with countless hundreds or thousands of hours of rote memorization by way of practice.
But as much as I make this out to be a bad thing, it's really not, given the context. Which is to say, at least in the case of North Korea, a child "prodigy" who is raised to play music for the government will have a WAY better life living in Pyongyang. Probably in a live-in complex for other such children where the state cares for them. Which, the state can provide for the child much better than even heavily politically alied parents could. So even though to the West, it seems wrong at first to make a child spend their entire childhood and their lives dedicated to playing music for the government.
As for China. I can't say with any certainty in regards to child musicians how they're trained by the State. But I've live-in training camps for child gymnasts that seemed to start around 5 years old or so, I think. The sentiment of the parents was basically the same as what I said of North Korea. That it's best for the child to be sent to a training center to live under the care of the government and spend their lives training because it will provide them with more resources, more opportunity, better food and clothes etc as a child and overall a better life.
I guess it depends on your own personal feelings. Whether you think giving up family is worth having a secure future and knowing you're looked after in a country where people are on average, living with very low income, or even lower in the case of North Korea. It would certainly be a very difficult decision to make. There's no doubt about that.
@@VoidHalo a lot of olympic champions barely spend any time with their family save for weekends, even in developed countries. parents driving their kids to practice 2-3x a week wont cut it. it's just that in developing countries the competition is much tougher and also only in certain fields since some can be too expensive to win.
I’ve never seen a 3 year old who looks so much like a 70 year old monk before
He's the Avatar, Aang reincarnated.
W comment
Are you Asian?
Wow, a toddler having that much fine motor control is pretty rare. I bet he'll be an incredible artist someday.
He will become national treasure, i feel it. Such precise way of holding maobi would create beauriful character
It is quite amazing a 3 yr old has the wrist and finger power to carry it out.
Knowing the strokes is not the only thing, it's that he has the visual working memory AND hand eye coordination to do it. This isn't stuff you can teach, it's the inborn ability that can go unnoticed- but cultivated into a skill through practice
He is a prodigy
He has the skill of a 60 year old Chinese calligrapher and also the hairstyle
Evil🤣🤣🤣
Difficult for many but child’s play to him.
haha i get it
They grow up so fast
Ba dum tss

Besides the talent, it is so sweet that mother and son naturally share the same passion.
His calligraphy is very impressive, I hope he becomes a famous calligrapher someday.
He is already famous 😊
His characters are like a piece of art! This auntie is very envious of his skill!
The way he is holding the maobi steadily with his little hands and writing carefully with it... man, forget calligraphy, I'm ashamed of my own handwriting now
Wow.. He'll learned all 5000+ Chinese character in early age
No, he knows hundred which is still very impressive
@@fahad_hassan_92 they ment that he will most likely learn all characters at an early age
@@fahad_hassan_92 That's true 👍
Simple proof of reincarnation. Such skills are mastered over a lifetime - this kid's previous life obviously was that of a master calligrapher.
I've the same feeling. You don't see that level of concentration/seriousness from normal kid.
He's like a reincarnation of an old master.
Very impressive little boy so much so that he is quite focusing & concentrating plus his memories is unbelievable amazing hopefully he will teach the future generations to learn the meaning each & every wording means
Poor cousin, can imagine the huge pressure placed on him due to how success is perceived in chinese culture
So they can take his money
China has ALL types of talents being sharpened from a very young age. China people really take the wisdom of early nurturing seriously. That is genius.
Such amazing talent and understanding. Make sure to nurture his qualities as long as you can!
3 years old, amazing, hopefully there are famous calligraphy masters willing to take him as disciple.
MashaAllah. Wishing little angel success and healthy long happy life Inshallah Ameen
Amazing calligraphy genius! There are so many talented child prodigies in China. The future of calligraphy belongs to China!
Calligraphy was also invented in china, i think
I don't delve deep into calligraphy especially chinese brush calligraphy, but even if he may be a little wonky, honestly, i think any 3 y/o deserved to be called prodigy.
I just hope he'll always have fun with it and not be saddled with that 'prodigy' label all the time, because as time went on, those label just weighs on you with judgment and expectation.
Anyhow, Amazing work! ♡
Exactly! Its better not to turn something you love into work
I am teaching Chinese 3-year-olds right now and most of them can't even trace a circle. How does this kid have the steadiness of hand to do this??
This is amazing. The boy has a bright future 🎉
Don't mess with a guy who knows piano and calligraphy!!
-Ayanokouji
😂😂 I knew this was coming. Anyways last day's episode was on fire.
Kiyotaka!!
Didn’t expect to see this here 🤣🤣 i was thinking of Barakamon tho
His handwriting is also beautiful
Most people are talking about the language rather than what this boy is doing. In my opinion, it's hard to judge whether the kid really knows the word he's writing but surely can tell he has a talent for painting/drawing for sure. His parents need to expand what he does with a pen to figure out his real talent and passion.
Amazing big brother! Respect and support both.
This kid is like the Mozart of Chinese Calligraphy!
My man gets everything early. Caligraphy and a receding hairline.
What a amazing little guy
My 4 year old, cannot even write a letter or number to save his life! But, do you know what? Its the imperfection things that I like most about him.
Certainly incredible for such a mastery of using a brush at such a young age. Jia you China!!!
Imagine this kid at school:
Friend: I like collecting Pokemons, what about you?
Kid: *Calligraphy.*
It's so cute that he kept looking up at his mom. Hoping that she won't lose it. lol
Very impressed and amazing talent but please don't forget he is just 3 year and he need to cherish his early years like playing and discovering his surroundings
Is he really 3? His face expression shows a lot of maturity
So many talented kids from China these days, I hope they're not forced to be another online trends
0.41 - I like this part so much, such an adorable child.
On cam : calm and professional
Off cam : you won't eat if you don't perfect it
@B W you only need to look the face to know everything
He's so adorable😭😭😭
0:07 His brother: I don’t like where this is going
Love the sight of the milk bottle after writing 😂
This made me smile today
this is the legendary 'rebirth of calligraphy master' 🤣
Every MedicalDoctor is a caligraphy genius
He is sooo cute!
Talented artist
Beautiful
Calligraphy was not taught in school until 4th or 5th grade when I was a kik. And most wrote messily after months of doing it. The ink spread beyond character borders to palms, shirts, and desks. This looks unreal.
This again tells the existence of past life. Don't tell me he was not a calligraphy writer in one of his past lifes.
My boys! Amazing!
I think he can also try painting as well. He could be cool in both.
Steven He: hmm ok ok pretty standard. Congratulations you are not a failure.
Aww him and his cousin are so cute
Now that’s talent!
I see so many Asian children online lately that seem so much more advanced than children here in the United States. It makes me really wonder what needs to change here because these Asian children are more likely to be independent and self-sufficient imo than American kids because they are encouraged. Here in America it's "don't touch that, you'll make a mess" or "you're too young to do that" and it's not just Asian kids that are more advanced. I see kids online in Africa and elsewhere that help with things that usually only older kids here in America would help with. It's crazy to see the difference, that's all
16 hours of studying a day, every day would be the answer. If you want to put yourself through this, be my guest
South-East Asian here, I think we all kinda share some of the Asian upbringing. In regards to self-sufficiency, in most places we are required to help out at the young age. Not everything is instant and easily accessable like I imagine the western world is. No dishwasher, no vacuum, no dryer for laundry at home unless you're rich. By the age of 8 I was tasked to sweep and mop the floor. By the age of 10, I would company my mother going to the market and help out cleaning meat/fish guts/vegetables for cooking, and do my own laundry which involves drying them in the sun since we don't have a dryer. Extra points if you don't have running water and have to get some from the well/river.
Funny enough, in terms of earning money and moving out of home, US do it earlier than here in my country. I seldom find teenagers work part time until they're in college. Same with moving out.
Excellent efforts by the little prince of calligraphy. 👍
Amazing kiddo !!
When you have a kid just give him a brush instead of a phone and soon he or she will draw perfectly trust me.
Impressive indeed 👏👏
I can't understand that language but kid is amazing for a 3 yr old. Hope very best for him 🙂
He has been reincarnated and still have he's past talent
Jokes aside It's very amazing
Regeneration/reincarnation is real

Kid's a calligraphy prodigy, but his hairline looks like he's 50 years old haha. He's gonna be like Calliou by the time he's 6!
Fantastic... regards from Brazil
He's so cute 😭🤧
Excellent.
If his mother can write then he can write too!1!1

简直是天才👋👋👍👍加油,前途无量

Astonishing! he is very amazing!!
But there is a bit of worry in me, i hope this doesn't deteriorate his chance of having a proper childhood.
Brilliant kid
I’m 16 and he does it way way better than me
I learnt for 4 years and is still writing 欧阳询
Oh my.. while that boy wrote calligraphy beautifully. Mine look like natural disasters.
Dear young man
This guy is gonna get *HIGH* marks on his future. I can just feel it.
Dont manifest something you arent sure of. manifestation can be harmful. Especially if youre doing it for someone else.
Manifest is just a word
@@Marvelouse that's incredibly silly.
I am really impressed.
If you're his cousin then be ready to be compared to him by your parents 😂
Really a prodigy 😁
Wow amazing ❤❤❤
That’s insane!
Wow amazing..

好棒 ! 👍👏❤
Bravo ❤
Honestly, as much as I respect the little guy and his talent, I feel bad for him. Born with Asian parents, became a prodigy at 3 and is now world famous. This child will NOT have a childhood, I can tell. I hope I'm wrong, but I just have a feeling
Magic little earthling …
