      If you have curly hair, you have to take into account that it will spring up. I think curly face framing is SOOOOO pretty. However, the effect is different then on straight or blown out hair (like what I showed). If you're interested in trying it, take these ideas to your stylist so she can customize it for your hair texture. Don't try to cut it yourself at home.

    After having one length hair, I took the leap and cut my hair in curtain bangs. I love the results and like you, I like the 90's supermodel look. I use velcro rollers too. I have yet to master the heated dryer brush. When I got it for Christmas I tried and my hair looked unruly and frizzy. I use a flat iron once a week and my hair stays smooth. I would like to use the iron less. Would you consider doing another video. Your hair looks so smooth and silky. I asked you this before, perhaps you didn't see it. I have thick hair so this may not work for you, but I just use a 1 1/4 inch curling iron. I only do the front section. The idea is easy, not to have to do the whole head like in the past few years. No way am I doing rollers or anything like that.

    I agree about the length of curtain bangs. They look best on me at chin length too. I took a screen shot of your inspiration photos to show my stylist at my next appointment. I have curtain bangs and they are super flattering on rounder faces like mine! As you said, they really can frame your face nicely if they are cut well for your face shape. Love them but I'm too scared to ever cut them myself but if I do decide someday, I'll use this video.
    Oh, and I have a side part that I always wear on the right side so yeah, hard to switch to another part because they'll look weird but that's how I like it so that's how they cut them for me. Absolutely can be worn with a side part but terms and conditions may apply etc. :D
    Oh, one thing though - they always fall down on my face after a bit of time, even with rollers. Do I need to hair spray them aggressively? :D

    • @GlamGirlGabi
      @GlamGirlGabi  Рік тому +7

      Yes they do look great with rounder faces! They frame the jawline so well and naturally contour the face. In this video, I didn't teach how to cut them but I taught you how to style them so that they sit beautifully.
      So your stylist cut them on a side part? That is perfect. Then it's almost like a side swept longer fringe.
      If they fall into your face, you want to use a medium hold hairspray and make sure that you hit the root with the spray so that you freeze the position from the root. Does that make sense?

    I already did the 90's lol You make me laugh :) I have a modified version of this, and I cut bangs into them. It's a nice softer look. I brought a picture in with me of a UA-camr when I wanted the cut done. I just had this done last year, before that I had no bangs and had very long hair. I have bang trims scheduled fairly frequently and full haircuts not so much, but in a couple weeks I have the full haircut, I may have the curtain part more exaggerated after seeing this. I CANNOT do the long bang/curtain like you, the hair in my face drives me absolutely NUTS! I pin it back at home. And I have to keep cutting the center myself because I cannot stand them in my face.

      Hey! So I have been on this journey for a year and a half and I have not coloured my hair at all. 90% of my har is virgin but there are some grown out highlights right at the bottom. Do you see that? If I were to make this color using the Goldwell color line, my natural color is a 4N but my highlights are around a 7NA. My hair is shiny because it is super super healthy now and also because of the way that I blow it out with a hot air brush. The hot air brush from TYMO has completely changed the way my hair looks. It's super soft and full looking after I use it. I only use it twice a week though so that I don't create too much heat damage.

    BANGS….. my friend and my enemy! Ok Gabi so my question is can this work with wavy/curly combination hair that also is course? I’ve had them longer, I’ve had them shorter and the thing that drives me bonkers is that if there’s the slightest bit of humidity they look horrible. Is it possible to keep them looking pretty on humid/rainy/hot days?? 🤔

      Hey Dante! I haven't coloured my hair in a year and a half! I don't have any plans of refreshing the caramel. I think I want it to be completely virgin and see how it looks from there. Hey! Bonjour! I am Canadian as well. I live in Ontario. I would definitely ask your stylist. It is something that is so individual that I can't say without being directly in front of you and looking at your hair. Don't attempt to cut this from home the first time. Get your stylist to do all the ground work for you and then you can trim it up from there.

    Curtain bangs definitely make me look better and younger! When I look at pictures of myself with short blunt bangs, my face looks heavier and my nose larger. Curtain bangs have the opposite effect.

    • @GlamGirlGabi
      @GlamGirlGabi  Рік тому

      YES! Absolutely correct. Short blunt bangs REALLY accentuate the nose. I actually had a rhinoplasty but before I had a larger nose and bangs always looked terrible on me. It draws arrows right to that part of the face.

    • @GlamGirlGabi

      It could work but, just like you said, the part has to be shifted to the side. This is a great example of the fringe needing to be customized to suit your growth pattern. Make sure to brings your stylist lots of picture ideas and ask her what she thinks can be done based on the inspiration + your individual growth pattern. That is always key!

    • @GlamGirlGabi
      @GlamGirlGabi  Рік тому

      Yes it totally would! Would you prefer to wear them wavy or curly? If so, it would look more like a face frame. It would be really pretty actually. Just make sure not to cut them too short. Curly hair pops up when it dries so go longer than you think you want so that you have room for them to spring when dry.

    I love the look of curtain bangs but I feel like they look better with a middle part and I'm a side part girl. I also put my hair behind my ears if it's down so they probably wouldn't be a great idea no matter how cute they are!

    • @GlamGirlGabi
      @GlamGirlGabi  Рік тому +1

      You're right. They do look better with a middle part. When they are worn with a side part, it almost turns into a side fringe which gives a totally different vibe. I can relate to you because I hate having hair in my face too. I almost always tuck my hair back or wear it up in my day to day life (when I'm not filming). The nice these about these is that they're long enough to tuck away. I HATE IT when I have a fringe that is too short to tuck back.
