There is a speed/time difference in each discipline; old fashioned "belly" dive, was slowest of the "falling", VERTICAL speed is faster on the vertical position, and less time to get into the formation. Canopy would seem the easiest, but with that many, turbulence is the issue.
@@anthonyreaux1455 you are either kidding or have no clue. Takes several hundred jumps before you get to where you can balance head down or sit fly. Formations are difficult. Novice jumpers with less than 100 jumps can barely get a 4-way locked in.
I paid $3700 for my gear in 1997. That included a cypres but also a used main canopy. I got really lucky and won a new main at a raffle at cross keys a couple of years later. (Remember PD boogies?) I figured it was like 10k for new gear nowadays.
People not in skydiving don’t understand how difficult this is…. These are the truly skilled individuals of the sport
Yup. Otherwise there could be fatalities..

2020; Skydiving in a lull? Seems a lot fewer regular jumpers. $4000 fully outfitted for good gear? $25 lift tickets?
We could jump on $10-$15 wages...
