I just redid a homelite xl12 converted it over to aftermarket reeds with super xl parts, new amazon cylinder & piston 46mm, I only put one ring in, deleted base gasket, put a chip in it, thing picked up alot!! Thanks for video
On this cylinder, did you grind the transfers out 2 the base so it would be case feed or was it manufactured like that? I was thinking of doing a 660 cylinder that way if I can find a solid 54mm piston that has a 12mm pin
I enjoy working with the lathe, so much stuff you can learn and do with one. Definitely need to do more videos with it going into details on what I'm doing and why, and how I'm doing it. 👍🏻 I appreciate the feedback Doug.
As long as the cylinder and adapter plate can spin without hitting the ways your golden, and make sure you have enough room to get your tool post back far enough. Some cylinders are kinda "square" ish made and isn't an issue, some are awkward shaped, like a 562, 661, 500i, they have a weird angle that makes them sit very low. But if she fits and spins by hand, I'd send it. 👍🏻 Mine has a 9" swing and I haven't had one hit yet. I think the smaller ones have like a 7" swing, so it could get close or hit on the bigger bore saws.
