Great trip report on Delta 717-200 from DTW-IND. Nice aircraft but unacceptable for no service in first class. IND is a beauty of an airport. Thanks for posting.
The 1996 incident wasn't a crash tho since it happened on the runaway down in Pensacola Florida as the MD88 was about to start it's take off roll!!!! No Delta's last fatal crash was actually in 1988 in DFW with flight 1141 which was a Boeing 727-200 operating service from DFW TO SLC crashed on take off because the flaps weren't set-up in take off mode, that was Delta's last fatal accident 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
My guess is that the reason they didn't serve any food or drinks is because by the time they started passing out drinks and/or preparing coffees and such, initial descent would've began, making it just logistically a nightmare!
looking at the weather it seems like crew had to remain seated for safety, no time to prepare a service as there is no time to clean up the galley in time for landing
My first ever flight was on an Airtran 717. That plane will always hold a special place in my heart

You should’ve stayed in Economy. Who wants to sit up front on a Maddog..? The magic happens in the back by the engines

No service in First Class is unacceptable. There should be something, even if it's a drink and the ubiquitous Biscoff cookies.
To be honest, it's a 44 minute flight. Not much you can really do in that short time frame given the time needed to ascend and descend
It’s a 44 minute flight, you don’t really need anything
10-15 min to reach cruising level and 20 min to land you won’t have enough time to do services
looking at the weather it seems like crew had to remain seated for safety, no time to prepare a service as there is no time to clean up the galley in time for landing
7/10 of DTW ? what didn't meet your expectations?
70% SKY. maaaaaybe 30% seat. Good. Nobody researching first class has ever seen sky.
I hate the takeoff!
