This bird took me home yesterday! I was excited to add another tally to my flights on my favorite aircraft family - the DC9 and its decendents. Those opportunities continue to become fewer!
I know what you mean! I've never actually flown on one of them, but everyone I know who has says they love it! I love the way it sounds, and I'd probably even like the way it feels, even though I'd probably have to fly in the back to hear those amazing engines! Yes, I do call it my favorite little plane that just wants to be there with the big guys, because it has so much power.
@@heatherstub I finally got to fly on one from DET-STL a little over a year ago. It was a good flight. Boeing got it wrong when it decided to end the 717 and the 757. They're paying for it now.
Damn that was a pretty steep takeoff. I remember one time in 2017 i was flying a 737 out of Sydney and the pilots pitched the plane up really steep like a roller coaster
I remember my first flight on a DC-9-14 (the original Baby Nine) was in 1965, just after the plane was first introduced. The airline that operated this dc-9 was West Coast Airlines (anyone remember West Coast Airlines?) The flight was from Spokane WA to Seattle WA.
Awesome flight on B717-200 N938AT I love B717-200s they are beautiful Mini Angry Puppy Jets. #Angry Puppies I hope you had an awesome flight on B717-200 N938AT
I've flown on these planes from Gulfport MS to the Delta hub in Atlanta many times - always a quick trip, seems like as soon as you're up to altitude you're coming back down. Haha!
Panama City Ground Delta 2609 request push and start. Delta 2609 Panama City Ground, cleared for takeoff! I like the takeoffs that start from the taxiway. :-)
@@sla31 I figured that by the planes registration with AT as the last two parts. I would have thought the FAA would have reregistered them when Air Tran nolonger existed when they merged with Southwest.
Honestly, the FAA really doesn't care what aircraft are registered, as long as they're registered haha. Many airlines have tail numbers throughout their fleet that are left overs from mergers and acquisitions. The AT at Delta, also NW and US at DL from Northwest Airlines. American has TW tail numbers from TWA, and they also have UW and US from America West and US Airways. United still uses a ton of old Continental tail numbers. Anyways, the point is, it's not uncommon at all for airlines to just keep the tail numbers that the aircraft had when they were acquired from another airline.
A beautiful takeoff indeed however I want to file a complaint because there was no inflight service ( like a small bag of roasted peanuts + plus a drink or a cup of coffee ) and I want a full refund... LoL... but wait, I didn't pay anything for this flight so getting a refund is probably going to be a bit difficult 😊
As other's have mentioned, the detailed information is available in every video in the description. Let me explain why I abbreviate the airports int he titles. UA-cam limits the number of characters in a title to 100. If I spelled out Panama City Beach to Atlanta, that's 1/3 of my title space gone. And if I spell out the whole airports, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.... That's literally 100 characters right there. So, I then couldn't fit any other info in the title. The airports all have FAA abbreviations that are widely accepted. So, I'm not having to make up abbreviations that no one is going to understand. The airpots/cities are the easiest thing to abbreviate, that at least half of people are going to know already. That said, I understand that not everyone knows the FAA airport codes. Especially when it comes to an airport like Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP). That's why I list the full info in the description, so everyone can find the answers to their questions without having to leave the video. In the end, it's literally not possible for me to spell out the cities or airports in the title. I mean, it's technically possible, but then the title would look like this: Full Flight - DAL - B712 - Panama City Florida to Atlanta Georgia - N938AT - DL2609 - IFS ep 444. In this scenario, every other piece of info is abbreviated and it's still too long for UA-cam. That's why they're abbreviated in the titles. Thanks for watching everyone!
1:07:00 - LOL- seat belt sign goes off - and you hear "all rise". That was funny.
Superb Footage man! Loved them engines throughout the whole flight!!!
Thanks my friend!
I live in Panama City and enjoy driving to our airport to watch airplanes.
My #1 vacation city

Definitely my friend... I'm not looking forward to the day when Delta and Hawaiian retire their 717's!
For some reason, I'm going to miss these planes when they're gone.
The last true lineage of McDonnell Douglas. I will miss them when they're gone too!

Lovely. Flew in one of these between NYC and DC. Lot's of fun.
cool takeoff

Worked at MDC in Long Beach as an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher when theses were being built along with the C-17 before Boeing took over.
Amazing that you got that engine AND Wing view!

Ah man, I wish we had camera tech like now when all of those planes were still around. The DC-9, Bae 146, 727, L1011, DC-10, etc.
Awesome flight on B717-200 N938AT I love B717-200s they are beautiful Mini Angry Puppy Jets. #Angry Puppies I hope you had an awesome flight on B717-200 N938AT
Many thanks for sharing this flight!
Thank you so much! Just as I would expect that you have the best seat of all of them. I’ll truly miss this bird!
i can see how that pilot tried to make butter but it went up, still a good landing though.
Nice video of one of my favorites. Love the 717 (and the 757 of course!)
Took that turn a bit wide off the taxi but corrected nicely after turning on thrust!

Sweet video. That is probably the gate I use every time with the 717, c33 in Atlanta it never changes
My favorite airplane! I love this little airplane that tries to be a big one. Thanks for yet another amazing video. Love the buzz of those RR engines.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one my friend! Thanks for watching!
My partner a I.took one of theses 717 to New Orleans from Atlanta when I was Air Tran that's ValuJet granddaughter LOL
First Delta 717-200 Video in a while! Love it brotha, Keep it up! Also Do you think you would be going to Richmond VA/RIC Airport Soon?
At the moment I don't have any plans to fly through RIC. But, you never know what might crop up as I continue to book flights this year!
*Outstanding!*
Best seat on the plane, IMO.
I agree. It doesn't get any better!
nice views upon landing and smooooth touchdown.
Hey! I love Panama City Beach, and ATL airport 🥰 would love to see a Columbus GA (CSG) soon!
Sitting beside one of these engines makes me nervous!
17:20 - Me - and - my - sha - dow! :D
Panama City Ground Delta 2609 request push and start. Delta 2609 Panama City Ground, cleared for takeoff! I like the takeoffs that start from the taxiway. :-)
Excelente 👏👏👏👏
Do pilots still fly these planes like rocket ships?
Yes, and it's awesome haha.
Was that another aircraft flying adjacent then underneath just after take off or a reflection? Great vid!
It’s a shadow of the plane on the cloud
Shadow of the plane casted by the Sun on the other side
Thanks my friend. As Ketan mentioned, that was just our own shadow. Thanks for watching!
No doubt !
I believe ECP is Panama City Florida ? Great place. I would imagine it's pretty active right now for Spring Break.
Yes, that is correct. Thanks for watching my friend!
He turned that corner pretty fast before taking off!
He really did. You can see him continuing to straighten up on the runway, even as our speed is continuing to increase. Thanks for watching my friend!
@@sla31 I call it TURN & BURN!!
Also wonder what happened to the CRJs that flew into ECP.
B717-200 N938AT is not 21 years old She is one of the Younger B717-200s and she is 16 years old.
Is this one of the 717 they recieved from Southwest which they recieved when they acquired Air Tran?
Yes. This plane was an AirTran bird before it went to Delta.

Great fly! Does your hand gets tired while you're recording at long flight?
Thanks my friend. To answer your question. Yes, all the time haha.

I'll file it for you and see what happens haha. Thanks for watching!
❤shame that there will be no Boeing 717 after 2025! I really hope they are sent leases companies and hopefully start up airliners might use them!
I agree. Fly them while you still can everyone!
Brave to get on this plane.
Wish I didn't have to look up each location and destination. Figured the person would put it here, but too much trouble I guess
It's in the description above.
Have to click "show more" in the initial description. There is PLENTY of specifics....everything you could possibly ask

@Skylite Productions,
That is an excelant landing. Have you been on a jetBlue Embraer E-190 before?
I haven't. Believe it or not, as much as I fly, I've only flown on JetBlue once in my life haha. And it was an A220-300.
Makes me realize how much I miss the MD-80s/90s. The new generation of aircraft have become pretty bland.
