@@runningchannel Go for 20 minutes, 1 minute on 1 minute off. High speed for a minute, no moving in the next minute. Whoever covers the most distance wins. It would test a different part of your fitness (HIIT) and might allow for different rankings in the results.

I love Sarah’s excuse 😂 “I did like 2 assisted pull-ups and therefore I’m not in top form”. Congrats on the pull-ups cus that’s genuinely a good achievement and more than I can do 😂 but it made me giggle
If this were the challenge, the best strategy would be to run down one street and then sit at a bench for an hour. But it would work if everyone had to run the same distance, rather than the same time.
Never been this early to a video. Not sure what to do here. I feel a bit lost. A bit nervous. I think I’ll just join the challenge and go out running for an hour.
Ok, I’m back! Old habits die hard so ran in a loop and ended up about one meter from where I started. So 1 meter was my result. Time now to watch the video and see if I beat anyone! 🤞
Great watch as always, I have binged TRC this summer combined with watching the Olympics, it’s been an awesome summer for running, I’m now missing the daily podcast!
Loved the ale Excuse Cam The editing for this was great! I liked the other suggestions to get the percent difference for the straight line distance and actual distance.
Yes! This challenge is a better version of my proposal on the last challenge video, which tests both navigation and running should in an urban environment. This is fun!
Anther brilliant challenge!! I wish there was a group that put on unofficial challenges like this... that would add serious fun to training! Congrats to all for handling the heat, people, and road blocks! (And 2 assisted pull ups!) 😂
Really think Sarah should have said 'On y va!' instead of 'off we go!' for this one. In all seriousness this was one of my favourite videos and love the challenges you do. Do more of them please!!!
One of the most fun run videos I've watched this year 😅. It wouldnt surprise me if after all Rick is still running to England, to the cold north 😂. Also compliments to Andy, who was giving the others a better chance at winning by intentionally running in a circle first, that is some real sportmanship!
It turns out dolphins don’t come out of the water for a drink: Instead, they get the water they need from their diet, which is primarily fish and squid. The body fluids of these animals have lower salt levels than seawater, so dolphins don't need to drink seawater to stay hydrated. Dolphins also produce water internally through the metabolic breakdown of food
actually, after watching your final results and taking the percentage of the 'straight-line-distance' over the 'actual-distance' the results are somewhat different... (which is more fair imho, because it lowers the influence of the fitness/athletic part of the challenge (of who can straightup run further in 1h) and adds more value to the navigation part (which was the point of it, as far as I can tell)) here are the new results: . . . . Andy 9.14/12.84 = 71% Sarah 9.08/10.17 = 89% Rick 8.55/10.44 = 81% Tom 5.88/6.88 = 84% This means (based on a measurement of navigation-skill) Andy comes in as last place, with Sarah winning (sorry Andy) and Tom overtakes Rick aswell. Enjoyed the Challenge (and the maths) ✌
Kind of fair, but the optimal strategy under those rules is to just run down one straight street right at the start and then stop for a 100% score. Naturally, it becomes harder to stick to a straight line the further you continue. Perhaps most fair would be for everyone to run a 10k according to the watches, and then score it based on how the crow flies
For what it’s worth, as a Parisian, I found it hard to get anywhere on foot during the olympics, many streets were closed, the streets were packed, i was late to everything 😂 I definitely feel for Tom here 😅
How rude to let them, run in the heat during the Olympics...do it again 😂😂 (in LA nwxt time with all the hills 😂😂 so hilarious Rick is so funny, I'm glad he's a regular during these challenges again❤
I like coming up with strategies for these kind of things and i think I would run away from the seine because then it feels like there would be less pedestrian traffic 🤷♂️ anyway loved the video 😌
I'm Texan and try to jog sometime between 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. It's usually 75 - 82 degrees (24 - 28 C) during that time and very humid, so listening to them struggle in 28 C made me feel a little better and so validated. It IS hot. Very hot. And I refuse to run in the afternoon when it's 95 - 105 (35 - 41 C). The people who manage that are nuts.
May have already been said, but Sarah should win at 89.4% straight, then Tom at 84.2%, then Rick at 81.9%, then Andy trailing wayyyy behind at only 71.2% straight.
"Il fait chaud et Tom fond!" 😂Do you have a French person in the production team ? Bisous from France, it's lovely to see some French content on TRC ;)
Not sure how fair that was - the fastest person ran the furthest. The second fastest person ran the second most. The third fastest person ran the third most and the slowest runner ran the least😅
Would be great if you would do these challenges in a way that don't give the faster runners in your team such a big advantage. You could use accuracy for example (kms as the crow flew divided by kms run) for example. 😉
Watching everyone suffering in 28 degree heat… while I contemplate the 40 min tempo run I’m about to do in 30 degree heat. The joys of a Canadian summer!
Got to admire Rick's optimism to run to England in an hour
It's all about the positivity 😂
That’s the gavi talking 😂
"Heading north, it gets cooler" 😂lol, I love challenges with Rick!

As a % of distance run
Sarah: 89.4
Tom: 84.3
Rick: 81.6
Andy: 71.3
Arguably fairer way of deciding a winner
Exactly what I was thinking

Sarah, that was not the Olympic torch. It's a météo baloon that they hoist in the air. The torch was at the Louvre where you started.
😂 We'll let her know

Rick wondering what animal he is... Obviously he's a pulse ox.
Excellent reference!
Last time I was in Paris my friend and I walked from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower, it's a gorgeous route choice of Sarah's!
This is a cool idea. I might give it a try.
I was really hoping Rick would compare himself to an ox!!
The new animal names by Rick are priceless🤣🤣🤣🤣
Has poor Tom won a challenge yet? He’s such a good sport and funny!!!
Louvre the video!
Love the race and all your comments and complaining 😊
25°C, luxury!
I've been running in 30+ heat lately and it has been awful, dropped to 28° yesterday and I was able to get a half decent run in finally.

I was in France, near Nantes for the olympics it was warm, but incredible atmosphere
Starting at the arc de triomphe is quite the advantage!

When I was in Paris for the Olympics, most roads were closed to cars. Simple tactic would be to run in the road and run towards the sun...
The barriers and roadblocks for the Olympics plus the heat made this challenge fun to watch but I bet really frustrating.
