@@gertrudevorspruthe6572 Yes everything works like a charm on it. Desired things have a price I guess, so I paid what I had for it but it was a few years back and the market was still pretty decent. Yes I found a very good tech just down the street from home :)
Yes, finally! Yeah! A show from 1986, this is a historical recording of the beggining of the "shoegaze" era, produced from these space genius who keep blowing my mind since my latest teenage years. I never thinked I could see something like this, damn, that lightshow!
Wow. I've seen somebody on facebook say the place was almost deserted, but listening to this apart from being amazed how young Jason sounds, the sound here already is pretty spot on. Great stuff (:
@paulmessis1094 Wow, where from? The earliest live tapes I have are from 1985, and I've got a fairly extensive collection of Spacemen 3 live tapes. I know there's some earlier rehearsal stuff on UA-cam posted by Tim Morris, but I never heard about live tapes from 1984 even existing. I would absolutely love to hear that. I meant video footage in regard to this post. I have older live audio.
Me too, and what's worse is I had the opportunities, I was driving by then and getting to gigs. For some reason S3 and Loop evaded me at the time. Loop have of course resumed operations and I've laid that ghost to rest, the Spacemen on the other hand...
I saw the band a bit later at acid daze 2 in leeds in dec 1987, although i'm pretty sure i saw them before and after too. This is a pretty good representation of what they were like. A great "speed" effect on the rhythm guitar.
Two optikinetics solar 250s. One with an oil wheel and one with the striped/dynagraph wheel. I believe they've hung a big white sheet at the back so it looks more vivid too.
Optikinetiks projectors.. you can still pick them up on eBay.. the ones they are using here are Solar 250’s.. then you need rotators and effects wheels..
They were always shit live. Saw them many times, knew them through their manager, loved the records, envied Pete's guitar collection but they were dreadful as a live act. Loop were a hundred times better live.
Found this via a link for the S3 at the town and country video, the DO.THE.MOOZIK channel sent. Utterly blown away by this. I think I saw S3 in 1987 for the first time and they were still set up very similar to this back then though I can't remember if they had the liquid backdrop when I saw them then. This really does give me the feeling of all those really early gigging days. All that teen excitement, energy, and seeing something which was "yours!" Thank you for uploading
This is so good, the lack of an audience actually makes it better. What I would give to be at this.
This is why I have both my Vox Starstream v269 from 1968,
my Fender Jaguar and my Sonic Boom 3 in 1 by Acid Fuzz.
It triples my fun.
Do all the effects work in your starstream? Have you managed to find a good tech in the area?

@@gertrudevorspruthe6572 I'm living in Berlin, Germany.
Francois Sky Ah could be a mission for me :-) I’m in the U.K. I’m not sure if the acid fuzz pedals are made anymore now
Somewhere in our hearts... things won't be the same...
That was great gig.. they came back at the end of the night to play another song.
They're 20 years old here 🤯
Pete and Jason both born on the exact same day, exact same year. Slightly weird.
Wow that explains the chemistry
@@thenintendogamer9318that is now sadly gone. 😞
Think Pete Bain and Natty Brooker shared a birthday, too, IIRC.
Same hospital, too, i believe

Spacemensch U! amazing.

This is amazing. Must be the earliest Spacemen live footage in existence?
Colourwheels in full effect!
I have a bootleg of them from 1984

Thank you. This is a gem for sure.
Awesome video. Would have been amazing to actually be there, I can't imagine how mind-blowing that would feel.
I am crying, I never saw them live. Damn, one of the world's best bands.
so am I dude
Bit of a stretch mate

Missed them back in the day so vids such as this will have to do. Great gig/sound.
so odd, I moved to camden in 96 and this was my Pub. Its gone now

Fabulous
Amazing - merry fucking Xmas indeed!
great footage.
Mind bending......What an awesome band they were!
Thanks for uploading - amazing!
fucking awesome footage. Spacemen 3 rock
wonderful, and in the shadow of the Roundhouse before it got 're-developed'
it's weird hearing Jason talking about the set list instead of Pete
Wow 1986! What great vid, thanks :D
I’d love to know how they’ve created that lightshow- looks cool

henrydemonfreid1985 Thanks so much for the info. Did you ever go to their concerts?
Well worth the wait for time to engage properly.
Probably same year as they played the cellar bar at University of Birmingham - great gig
oooooooooh
Oooo
What kind of light show is that? Are they using a projector? It's so psychodelic
I wanna try something similar to my shows
revolving oil projector i think, psychedelic liquid light show

is this sensateria there playing in..
Is there an audience?
shockingly apathic crowd
genius right there, they are missing out :)
they had no idea what was in front of them
