I remember my grandmother had one of these. It wasn't so brightly painted, it was more a raw finish, but more or less similar in design and function. Now I finally know how they're made.

the craftsmanship and the dedication to making these things is pretty incredible. he must have the patience of a saint if he is doing all this on his own. I've seen these types of umbrellas before but never appreciated the amount of work that goes into them.
