I love, love, love bamboo! It's wonderful and can be used.for so many things. I love how the fans were made. It looks deceptively simple to make them, but people who are.skilled at making them make their difficult job look really easy. I would love to make fans in this traditional way. They are such works of art!

What amazing craftspeople! IMO, there is no plant more versatile than bamboo 🎍 flexible, durable, renewable, edible and it’s as strong as steel! Hemp is also versatile, but bamboo is king!
When you think back to when we were just mastering fire and hand axes, through the ages of leather and sinew, bones to beads and mud to clay to pottery and all the ways we worked plant fibers in between to the lovely poetic magic of this ages old tradition and more...🤯

Хотя у меня есть вот такой не складной веер, я им пользуюсь и уже давно, и очень берегу, есть складной из сандалового дерева, очень ароматный и резной - этот вообще раритет, храню как драгоценность. When I clicked on the video, CC was turned off. Going back to studying people and their intent, I then realized that it's not what a person says, but how they say it. This isn't a new concept, but one that I've been trying to master. The OG making the fans, had such passion in his words. I was able to understand, within limits, what he was saying. A combination of body language, vocalization (intent) and will. He has a product, that he has mastered thru skill, knowing its value and the value it holds to others. He gave priceless insight to its construction, which a minority will care about. Having worked with bamboo making various tools and instruments... I have a decent Idea of what he was trying to convey with the demonstration. We were once ONE people. Not a religious or sci fi thing, but a united peoples who shared technology that bordered on the cusp of gods and magic. I am, as you are. We are as one. When you are, I am. These trades of the hand are being lost to time and other things. You don't have to make a folding hand fan, but pay attention when the last of the elders speak. We've lost so much already. What happens if Sol, our sun, sends out an EMP? Can you build a fire or make hand crank tools?

I have a Japanese fan my dad got in WW2 when he was in NewGuinea fighting the war it needs repairing vey bad, don’t know where to send it to get redone! Can anyone tell me where??
Are you in Australia? I am, too, and it's just that they aren't being sold here, anymore - they're still available pretty much everywhere else. A little insider bird told me (when I asked to get one again for our next company car) that the reason is that all other models have a hybrid version, here, and most green-buyers switched/are switching to those as they became available, and it wasn't economic to ship them here after Aussie auto manufacturing was killed off. I loved them because the iTech was like a giant, beautifully made, gadget that connected with all my devices decades before the term "devices" was a thing, and it drove so well, and so quietly that it didn't trigger my migraines like SUV boats do; I guess there aren't enough migraineur nerds, like me. 😢 (FYI The hybrid Lexus sedan is almost as migraine-friendly, and has its own beauty and benefits). 😁
