"Face your fears and I'll face mine" is such an unintentionally terrifying statement for Faker to say because realistically, what the _fuck_ would something like *him* be afraid of? The mirror?
"Fear eigengrau" is genuinely one of the most unique lines of this cover, saying it's the fear of true darkness, or at least what im interpreting it as.
Eigengrau is not a cliche "true darkness". It's the lighter version of black that you see when in darkness or when you close your eyes. I see two possible interpretations of this line 1. Faker has a very pessimistic view of the world, as he sees the world as corrupted by monsters (exes) and terror. This means Eigrengrau isn't about darkness at all, rather about fearing the grim truth of his world. 1. This line could also be referring to death, as "fearing eigengrau" would translate to "fear the darkness of death". This would also make sense, since Faker is portrayed as only doing anything he must to survive
I fucking adore the interpretation of EXE here. He sounds like some sort of preacher or cult leader trying to reign you in with getting inside your head via double-negatives and making you question your identity when in Faker form, then when shedding the disguise, just giving you the cold hard truth about how the world is and how it's live or die. He sounds so...Human. The demonic, violent tall as fuck hedgehog creature sounds *human,* in the way he speaks. He sounds so utterly sincere and it's so *surreal.* I hope we'll hear more lyrical stuff and original songs from you soon!
i always imagined xenophanes to be the cult leader and deity. of course..he's a manchild with a temper..but he has god powers. so it's worship him as a reanimated carcass. EXE is more of the type to pull you in. and if you have any positivity...you are killed. but if you have his views, he spares you.. but he won't shut up about his viewing of survival of the fittest.
This version of "Faker" is perhaps the best depiction out of all of them, not due to a power threshold, but simply since it is like a two-pronged existential attack...but not without spots of hope. The "Faker" is essentially taking what you know and laying out elements of reality. Specifically, the "individual", on a personal level to ease them into listening to him. The tall and lanky "True" form is, all things considered, ruthless in its words and tone. It is illuminating the addictive poison of the world around you, using Krokodil of all things to elaborate. Side Note:"Krokodil" is an extremely powerful and addicting opiate that, upon injection into the skin, results in a form of scaly necrosis of the human skin usually as a black or grayish green and causes it to peel or fall off, hence its name. Furthermore, it knows that deep within each person is a primal, vicious desire. It may not be immediate nor may it be too long, it is inevitable either way. But, he doesn't see any reason to kill because of it, but instead ask you to try and fail. Confront the truth as fearful as it is and stop trying to indulge your delusions....upgrade and innovate as much as possible. It is also imperative that through such upgrades and innovations that you don't just survive, but live. You survive for now, or die today. Lose sight of the point in exchange for a banal present or seemingly needless banter Regardless, Faker is actually trying to help you realize that being stubborn and seeing everything is normal while also deluding yourself is as dangerous as the demons themselves. This is to the point you are a zombie to society. Just waltzing and shifting around, an insignificant and unremarkable creature. In short: Don't fear the unpredictability of Life, Fear the artificial banality that accompanies a comforting lie. Especially the ones you tell yourself.
In this case faker's design gets a whole new meaning the first phase is uncanny it feels wrong and fake and represent the lies we tell ourselves and the second is downright monstrous, despite this it encourages you to better yourself and be the best you you can be, to emancipate yourself from the system and stop fearing failure. In this interpretation faker is a mirror of ourselves or more accurately a personification of our ambitions and our hopes the ones society and our own subconscious have taught us to demonize and fear in exchange for banal conformity. He's the truth we don't want to see and the necessary evil we're unwilling to commit to. In short we're projecting on him he even calls this out "naught but false to think that I'm fake" "-fact the fake here might be you" he's the truth we've learn to fear the spark of ambition and innovation.

I love EXE's interpretation here. Rather than his canon story, being just another boring "he wants to be God" storyline, this version makes him a complex and interesting character.
I liked how instead of taking turns of the lyrics, Faker.EXE sings for the entire song, which turned out perfectly. And the art truly shows the emotion of Faker.EXE on both Faker and Black Sun. Well done.
Stuff I noticed: "This land is divided, they need someone they can confide in" is a reference to Nominal Dingus' cancelled Faker lyrics "And it's all divided, now they have no one to confide in" (I wrote Nominal's lyrics from memory they might be wrong) "Our Midas made a light to overcome the darkest fires" Midas is a reference to the story of King Midas, the king who turned everything he touched into gold. The line probably has to due with the title Black Sun, it shines light despite being dark, which explains the phrase "darkest fires" "'Till titans carry the world asunder" is a possible reference to Greek mythology. My knowledge on it is a bit rusty but I believe titans were the first generations of gods who were overthrown by Zeus, and if they were to be released from their prison they'd destroy the world. Again my knowledge is rusty so I could be wrong. "Put krokodil, straight into your veins" Krokodil is kind of drug, if injected into your skin it leads to limb amputation and death, with many side effects before that happens "In this fight between the good and evil, let me tell you now that I am neither" is a reference to Sayo's Black Sun lyrics, "In this dance of good and evil I am neither!" "Timeless, spineless, paradigmless" For anyone who doesn't know what it means, paradigmless is a typical example of a pattern "Face your fears and I'll face mine" idk if this is a reference to anything, but the line feels so familiar to me "Fear eigengrau" Eigengrau is a dark grey that can be seen in perfect darkness as a result of singals from the optic nerves I probably missed some stuff lol, I love these lyrics so much, they get so creative like with the krokodil and eigengrau lines. If you have more fnf lyrics planned then I'd be happy to see them. I didn't watch this with expectations but if I did then you would've definitely exceeded them.

the fact this version of Faker doesn't even want to inflict harm or wants you dead. Instead he wants you to seemingly Survive and Thrive. He wants you to face reality even if such a thing is too scary to even consider. He speaks as if *Human* and that puts its own version of feeling *Uneasy*
1:10 i love how even in the song there are clues that faker is laying to the listener, in this part for example, "he says naught but false to thing that im fake", but if you are no paying attencion to the lyrics on the screen, you can hear how the lyrics change to "not that false to think that ik fake" is just increible how much effort they put in the rewitten of the lyrics. I EXPECT NOTHING LESS FROM MY GOD. Lyrics so deep yet so simple to understand, don't even need to look too much into it to understand. Most of the lyric videos I find are just words with no real meaning, but this has so much. This just further cements Churgney Gurgney as one of my favorite composer, not just for fnf, but for music in general, even if it was just the lyrics. I love this man, and I hope he gets 10x the recognition he has now. May he continue making nothing but amazing songs. And of course, let us not forget the other wonderful people who helped with this project

this is amazing, faker's voice is intimidating yet almost inviting? your singing is impeccable, the vibrato on some notes is wonderful. The lyrics are very well written, almost being shakespearean in nature at some parts, all in all, fantastic video.
This ain't even A TAKE on lyrics, this better be canon man, like I'm going to riot just to vote to make these THE canonical lyrics to Black sun at least, forget literally every other take on this. This is so good, I can finally be at peace and forget about what could've been with Nominal's unfinished Black Sun and Faker songs. Side note I LOVE the detail that even after transforming, he doesn't refer directly to HIMSELF as the "Terror" or "Monster" in the situation, kinda leading on that he isn't the evil one in the situation, that he only stands in the middle, as if presenting himself as a solution, or an equal balancing force beyond the scope of good and evil. I love the idea of an EXE that blurs the line like this, he's not the hero fighting some monster, but he's also not the villain or a monstrous embodiment of death and evil. He is just that, that enigmatic middle ground.
I really like that as confident and menacing Faker sounds, that sweat drop on his face is an indicator that he's having a tough time convincing you he's not fake.

Begging for more of these, man. All the lyrics flowed nicely with nothing feeling forced or weirdly written like a lot of other lyric video's I've seen. Makes this one of the few I really enjoy start to finish. While I'm sure a lot of people are gonna request other EXE stuff, I'd love to see how you'd cover some of your own songs like Legacy and Your Copy. Maybe even a full lyrical Trichael. (Though, I wouldn't complain about more songs from EXE either.) Real good shit, man. 👍
This cover is so painfully beautiful and I want more of it. I genuinely love that Faker isn't just out to kill bf and rather talks about all he's been through and how he wants to give those around him something he couldn't have, but at the same time take revenge on it for everything that happened.

Meaning he very well could be the only one keeping that world going, even if his methods aren't the best. After all, as far as we see _only_ Tails is dead.

This is actually really cool. It's neat seeing how EXE in his faker form is more malicious, whereas his Black Sun form is trying to convey to the listener that they need to overcome their fears and anxieties to overcome the hurdles in their life.

I like how the lyrics for faker is just EXE trying to trick bf into trusting him. Adds to the whole “somethings not right here” vibe that the song has. I also enjoy how EXE slowly becomes passive aggressive as the song goes on. That art kicks ass too I love it so much.
I clicked on this expecting to be disappointed in one of my favourite composers, and came out of it with new revived faith in FNF lyrical covers. This is a fucking masterpiece and I cannot stop listening to it. You NEVER miss, man.
A fnf lyrical adaptation by churgney is something I never knew I needed. This was definitely a pleasant surprise to see in my notifications, and a different take on these songs along with your immaculate vocabulary truly made for a great lyrical cover. I like how even with the serious art you've got upfront the joke low quality stuff still remains. The lyrics are sometimes misspelled and the black lines have the standard low quality text. You stay true to your roots and i respect that.

I've noticed multiple allusions/references to other Blacksun + faker Covers, like the "Divided and Confide" part is a reference to MaimyMayos scrapped Faker cover, and the "I am Neither" part is clearly a reference to Sayos cover of BlackSun. Not sure if there are anymore, but those were the two most noticeable ones. Outstanding performance!

I love this depiction of EXE and the Faker song especially. The lyrics feel so natural and well written, out of all the lyrics interpretations of Faker this is the one I find myself listening to regularly. Everything on it just works in between the lyrics, voice and the transition to Black Sun is so smooth. This covers are just perfect.

You know, i just happened to randomly stumble upon this and i must say that i instantly loved it. I'd say that it definitely deserves that top 3 ranking in FNF lyrics videos out there, very high chances that it'd actually get the first place too! But first it's because Faker/EXE is honestly also my favourite version of Sonic out there and so are his songs. Black sun is a total banger in my opinion and how the instrumental sounds like it's a do or die situation', simply perfection. Second is how the lyrics just manage to get so deep, like, i expected something awesome, but i did not expect it to be THAT awesome, it's extremely motivating in a way, how it reminds you that it's never too late and if you wanna do better in life then it straight up tells you the hard but real cold truth, no sugar coating it at all, no point in looking back aswell and i gotta say that all of it was sung so well, made it 10x better, your voice fits the character greatly and so does the flow you were able to do it in, just mind blowing. I just loved it man, amazing job you've done! :D You really made me want to sing the whole lyrics myself and make my own little cover for it. "Fear eigengrau" is genuinely one of the most unique lines of this cover, saying it's the fear of true darkness, or at least what im interpreting it as.

It's basically the nothing you see when you close your eyes. In other words, **deth**
"Eigengrau" can also be known as "Eigenlicht" which means brain gray. Something that only comes from true darkness in regards to eyesight.
I was gonna comment this, but it seems I was beat to the finish line.
Eigengrau is not a cliche "true darkness". It's the lighter version of black that you see when in darkness or when you close your eyes.
I see two possible interpretations of this line
1. Faker has a very pessimistic view of the world, as he sees the world as corrupted by monsters (exes) and terror. This means Eigrengrau isn't about darkness at all, rather about fearing the grim truth of his world.
1. This line could also be referring to death, as "fearing eigengrau" would translate to "fear the darkness of death". This would also make sense, since Faker is portrayed as only doing anything he must to survive
I fucking adore the interpretation of EXE here. He sounds like some sort of preacher or cult leader trying to reign you in with getting inside your head via double-negatives and making you question your identity when in Faker form, then when shedding the disguise, just giving you the cold hard truth about how the world is and how it's live or die. He sounds so...Human. The demonic, violent tall as fuck hedgehog creature sounds *human,* in the way he speaks. He sounds so utterly sincere and it's so *surreal.* I hope we'll hear more lyrical stuff and original songs from you soon!

Fittingly, EXE's old lore had him lead his own cult, but Revie recently retconned it.
This version of "Faker" is perhaps the best depiction out of all of them, not due to a power threshold, but simply since it is like a two-pronged existential attack...but not without spots of hope.
The "Faker" is essentially taking what you know and laying out elements of reality. Specifically, the "individual", on a personal level to ease them into listening to him.
The tall and lanky "True" form is, all things considered, ruthless in its words and tone. It is illuminating the addictive poison of the world around you, using Krokodil of all things to elaborate.
Side Note:"Krokodil" is an extremely powerful and addicting opiate that, upon injection into the skin, results in a form of scaly necrosis of the human skin usually as a black or grayish green and causes it to peel or fall off, hence its name.
Furthermore, it knows that deep within each person is a primal, vicious desire. It may not be immediate nor may it be too long, it is inevitable either way.
But, he doesn't see any reason to kill because of it, but instead ask you to try and fail. Confront the truth as fearful as it is and stop trying to indulge your delusions....upgrade and innovate as much as possible. It is also imperative that through such upgrades and innovations that you don't just survive, but live. You survive for now, or die today. Lose sight of the point in exchange for a banal present or seemingly needless banter
Regardless, Faker is actually trying to help you realize that being stubborn and seeing everything is normal while also deluding yourself is as dangerous as the demons themselves. This is to the point you are a zombie to society. Just waltzing and shifting around, an insignificant and unremarkable creature.
In short: Don't fear the unpredictability of Life, Fear the artificial banality that accompanies a comforting lie. Especially the ones you tell yourself.

In this case faker's design gets a whole new meaning the first phase is uncanny it feels wrong and fake and represent the lies we tell ourselves and the second is downright monstrous, despite this it encourages you to better yourself and be the best you you can be, to emancipate yourself from the system and stop fearing failure. In this interpretation faker is a mirror of ourselves or more accurately a personification of our ambitions and our hopes the ones society and our own subconscious have taught us to demonize and fear in exchange for banal conformity. "Our Midas made a light to overcome the darkest fires" Midas is a reference to the story of King Midas, the king who turned everything he touched into gold. The line probably has to due with the title Black Sun, it shines light despite being dark, which explains the phrase "darkest fires"

My knowledge on it is a bit rusty but I believe titans were the first generations of gods who were overthrown by Zeus, and if they were to be released from their prison they'd destroy the world. I EXPECT NOTHING LESS FROM MY GOD. Lyrics so deep yet so simple to understand, don't even need to look too much into it to understand. Most of the lyric videos I find are just words with no real meaning, but this has so much. This just further cements Churgney Gurgney as one of my favorite composer, not just for fnf, but for music in general, even if it was just the lyrics. I love this man, and I hope he gets 10x the recognition he has now. May he continue making nothing but amazing songs. this is amazing, faker's voice is intimidating yet almost inviting? your singing is impeccable, the vibrato on some notes is wonderful. The lyrics are very well written, almost being shakespearean in nature at some parts, all in all, fantastic video.

This is so good, I can finally be at peace and forget about what could've been with Nominal's unfinished Black Sun and Faker songs.
Side note I LOVE the detail that even after transforming, he doesn't refer directly to HIMSELF as the "Terror" or "Monster" in the situation, kinda leading on that he isn't the evil one in the situation, that he only stands in the middle, as if presenting himself as a solution, or an equal balancing force beyond the scope of good and evil.
I love the idea of an EXE that blurs the line like this, he's not the hero fighting some monster, but he's also not the villain or a monstrous embodiment of death and evil. He is just that, that enigmatic middle ground.

Begging for more of these, man. All the lyrics flowed nicely with nothing feeling forced or weirdly written like a lot of other lyric video's I've seen. Makes this one of the few I really enjoy start to finish. While I'm sure a lot of people are gonna request other EXE stuff, I'd love to see how you'd cover some of your own songs like Legacy and Your Copy. Maybe even a full lyrical Trichael. (Though, I wouldn't complain about more songs from EXE either.)

From 3:35 to 3:47 that instrumental gives me some kind of nostalgia, and the lyrics were able to capture that. It’s a feeling i’ve never been able to recreate.

Knowing what *may be found peering into friday night funkin' songs with lyrics,* i thought at first that this was an april fools joke, but it's actually astoundingly good, lyrics are well composed and the singing is great.

I like how the lyrics for faker is just EXE trying to trick bf into trusting him. Adds to the whole “somethings not right here” vibe that the song has. I also enjoy how EXE slowly becomes passive aggressive as the song goes on. That art kicks ass too I love it so much.

I clicked on this expecting to be disappointed in one of my favourite composers, and came out of it with new revived faith in FNF lyrical covers. This is a fucking masterpiece and I cannot stop listening to it. You NEVER miss, man.
A fnf lyrical adaptation by churgney is something I never knew I needed. This was definitely a pleasant surprise to see in my notifications, and a different take on these songs along with your immaculate vocabulary truly made for a great lyrical cover. Looking forward to seeing more of such videos, if you have any more planned that is!
Goddamn this is absolutely amazing! I've seen a rise of Faker and/or Black Sun covers that have just been decent at best, but this absolutely takes the crown of the best cover I've ever heard! Especially Black Sun 2:13. That went hard!

The concept of entirely removing bf is great. The lyrics are great. But the best part? No annoying intro/outro.

I like how even with the serious art you've got upfront the joke low quality stuff still remains. The lyrics are sometimes misspelled and the black lines have the standard low quality text. You stay true to your roots and i respect that.

When this man, who has made some of the most golden songs of fnf, randomly decides to revive EXE’s lyrical train wreck into something even greater.
OMG THIS IS SO GOOD! From the anime-like thumbnail to the unique take you went with for these lyrics. They really make you question what Faker/EXE's true intentions are and flesh-out their personalities a lot more. Really great lyrics, can't wait to see what else you make.

Good lord this is a banger! I've noticed multiple allusions/references to other Blacksun + faker Covers, like the "Divided and Confide" part is a reference to MaimyMayos scrapped Faker cover, and the "I am Neither" part is clearly a reference to Sayos cover of BlackSun. Not sure if there are anymore, but those were the two most noticeable ones. Outstanding performance!

I love this depiction of EXE and the Faker song especially. The lyrics feel so natural and well written, out of all the lyrics interpretations of Faker this is the one I find myself listening to regularly. Everything on it just works in between the lyrics, voice and the transition to Black Sun is so smooth. This covers are just perfect.
For a voice for faker, this is oddly accurate, and the way you sing is downright beautiful, props to you and the other who helped on this!

You know, i just happened to randomly stumble upon this and i must say that i instantly loved it. I'd say that it definitely deserves that top 3 ranking in FNF lyrics videos out there, very high chances that it'd actually get the first place too!
But first it's because Faker/EXE is honestly also my favourite version of Sonic out there and so are his songs.
Black sun is a total banger in my opinion and how the instrumental sounds like it's a do or die situation', simply perfection.
Second is how the lyrics just manage to get so deep, like, i expected something awesome, but i did not expect it to be THAT awesome, it's extremely motivating in a way, how it reminds you that it's never too late and if you wanna do better in life then it straight up tells you the hard but real cold truth, no sugar coating it at all, no point in looking back aswell and i gotta say that all of it was sung so well, made it 10x better, your voice fits the character greatly and so does the flow you were able to do it in, just mind blowing.
