Well done. So many items can have a wood top/bottom added to totally change the function of that item. This “tray” over the milk can for an end table is a great example. Great job.
@NorthwestSawyer I wasn't going to make it to salem on time after I grabbed my son from school, so I'll be picking it up in the morning. After the time I've been without a day is nothing but the longest set of ticks and tocks in history.
It's darn near wall art. Why do I suspect the grandchild will some day inherit the table. The plastic washer idea mentioned below is excellent. Looking forward to seeing one in use. 👍👍👍
It's great that you would make that for a viewer. I need a saw mill shed. I'll send you the drawings. I'll pay all of your expenses............well, some.........actually, none. When can I expect you? Your new best friend**, Dave ** best friend status starts at the completion of the building.
Awesome! I have my truck and trailer loaded with the lumber, concrete, roofing and mg tools. If I remember correctly, it’s two rights and a left at the sign? If I’m not there in 27 minutes, just wait longer. 😂😬😉
Great humor. For your wood emergencies call Wood-one-one. The Wecreat is an awesome tool. Infact may get a second one. On a side question, do you have issues with moisture in the air compressor? Great project and beautifully done.
The air compressor you were using to blow off the wood. Air compressors that store air can build up moisture /water in the tank. The ones for my lasers dont store air and do not have the moisture issue. The lase we have at school uses air from the big system and it has an elaborate refrigerated drier. Overly complex. But necessary to get the air dry for all the shop areas.
Nice work, he'll like that. I was wondering if you ever worked with Alaskan yellow cedar? and if not would you like a chunk. It has very very tight grain and there is no other smell like it. I would like to send a chunk to you if you want? And were to send it? you do excellent work with that lathe.👍
Wow! Thank you! I don’t think I have. I’ve milled incense cedar which smells like pencils but it think is considered to be a white cedar. Can you send me an email to 5tonfabrication@gmail.com?
Do you have a plastic washer between the head stock n your work piece. They come off the lathe easier.i made one from a butter bowl top.looks pretty cool.
Sorry this is off topic: but I once saw your Super Duty with a "rounded" service body. Who will produce such rounded utility bodies (matching the truck cab line)? I can not find.
No worries. I don’t think those are made any more. My boss would keep an eye out for one to buy used, sometimes even buying an entire truck just for the service body. That’s actually where my donor Silverado chassis came from. The leftover truck.
Ha! I know exactly who you’re talking about! That’s krazy Ken from Tilamook! He’s ok on the software use because that is not a regulation city napkinCad template, definitely the private use version. But that milk jug is circa 1962 from the Dairy itself so it may be incriminating. Oh crud I already typed his true identity tho… 🤷🏼♂️
You are driving crazy with language on numbers. It is either the right measurement or it is not. There is no room for shades of grey. I am a Certified Public Accountant and there is right or wrong and nothing inbetween. Sorry it is my OCD.
I too am a CPA and partner in one of the international accounting firms. Apparently you are struggling with the concept of “materiality,” also known as “Close enough.”
LOL I have had the same CAD drawing software since 1964. I got my copy in the third grade art class.
Third grade!?! I think you’re giving my buddy too much credit. 😂😂😂
0:48 that's pretty sophisticated! 🤣 Good job!
😬
That look's way better than OK, Man what a talent....btim😀😃😄 SW Pa.
Classy addition to a family heirloom. Cool!
Thank you!
“Friend that shall remain nameless”. Next slide is a text from Ken. 😂. Great work all the way around.
Thank you! He mentioned the same thing😂😂😂 I explained, “that’s why it’s so funny!”😂😂
Well done. So many items can have a wood top/bottom added to totally change the function of that item. This “tray” over the milk can for an end table is a great example. Great job.
Thank you! I agree with the wood contrasting the old metal. It really pops.
The machine shop was able to repair my lathe motor. I'm going to be picking it up this afternoon. I hope to be turning something this weekend.
Awesome! Keep me posted, Archie!

Thank you! That jug has been it the family a while. Hopefully my new top will become an heirloom.

Thank you! I have a lot of variety coming up. Stay tuned!
Now I know what to do with grandad's cream can! Nicely Done.
Thank you! He says that’s been in his family as long as he can remember.
Nice job Jason. The big reveal when you cleaned off the face was amazing. Pretty was the first word that came to mind!
Thank you, Alan!
Looks magnificently ok, Jason. Interesting choice for a coffee table, but the possibilities are of course endless. Great video thumbs up.
Thank you, Craig! It looks like it fits pretty good in the space he has.

That was really a nice piece, thanks for showing us this Jason.
Thanks for watching, Reg!
This has some beautiful grains.
I agree! It literally sat in my wood shed for years with paint overspray all over it.
Another wonderful piece. Great job! 👍
Thank you!
Beautiful piece of wood. Well done. 😊
Thank you!
That's lovely, your friend will be delighted.
Thank you! He’s super happy with it. I haven’t gotten feedback from the video yet😂
Good job! I really like the laser engraver.
Thank you! It’s definitely one of my favorite tools.
Good job Jason….and a very nice piece of wood 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Nice little table top
Thank you!
Beautiful wood.
Thank you, Vicki! And nice work on your epoxy piece! I need to get my pressure pot out of the box😂

Thank you! He got a pretty good kick out of it. Are you referring to moisture in the laser’s air pump? If so, no. Could it be coming out of the wood?
The air compressor you were using to blow off the wood. Air compressors that store air can build up moisture /water in the tank. @@ronhaefner7833 I see. I have to drain the condensation from the tank every once in a while buts it’s not a big deal.
Very nice Sir, well done.
Thank you!

Nice, Jason. When did you add the outline of Oregon to your logo?
Bill
Thank you, Bill! It’s always been there, I just usually remove it when I’m signing my round turnings.
❤I Love this❤
Thank you!
nice work
Thank you!
Nice little project Jason & when you use the shavings what is the technique called ?✌️ Napa California
That’s called burnishing. It puts a polish on the wood.
Do you have a plastic washer between the head stock n your work piece. They come off the lathe easier.i made one from a butter bowl top.looks pretty cool.
I’ve never heard of that but that’s a great idea.
NICE!!!
Thank you!
I love what you did. Turned out beautiful. Have you ever used Tried and True finish?
Thank you! I e never heard of that finish. I’ll have to look it up.
I use it on all my bowls. Food safe to. @@NorthwestSawyer

This is actually Krazy Ken from Gresham😉
Milk can? I bet it wasn't his wifes idea.
Judging by the complex C.A.D drawing I can only guess your friend is ex N,A,S,A, Microsoft maybe blaming your grandkids is always a classic
His employment is top secret for sure 😂😂😬
