Mr Phil, I have just one thing to say to you. DO NOT CHANGE! Stay exactly who you are, the way you are. It's the reason we all love you and your channel. I will never tire of your commentary. Keep up the beautiful work. But don't change a thing. We love you just the way you are.
In an ever-changing world, your constant "Good morning, good afternoon, good evening" and "Thank you ___, for sending this along for alllllll to enjoy" are some of the hightlights of my week. Never stop!
I never get tired of listening to you explaining what your doing even though I know it by heart now. I hope your new viewers will learn your phrases too. Thanks
One of the reasons I wait with baited breath each week for your videos is your commentary. That is what got me started. I never get tired of repeated comments. Once again you let the wood show us it’s best side.
It looks good tome too, Phil and I for one don’t get tired of your voice overs. We all need to be reminded regularly or we….. what do we do? Oh, yes, forget 🤣🌞
One of the things I find most delightful about people I know well is when they do or say something that is SO who they are, it makes me smile. Your repeated phrases give me that same, comfortable, easy feeling. It doesn’t matter that I know very little else about you. Those repeated phrases make you seem like an old friend. I have a few favorites (Commence to removing this tennon, Left hand on the switch right hand on the gouge, As soon as I get my mask on). Familiar is good. Then when you throw in “it’s sanding sealer, DUH,” I laugh out loud. If you change your presentation I’d miss those things, but you do you, and if you’re bored with yourself, we’ll adapt. 🥰 Thanks for your terrific content every week!
Oh don't change your narrative I like to hear it. The Live Oak bowl is so pretty!!! I'm going back to designing more greeting cards. Have a good weekend. 👍🙂
That turned out very pretty Phil. Nice wood, love the shape. Dont stop your commentary, even if some are tired of it, its not fair to new viewers to miss out. Besidez, its part of the charm of your channel.
Well at 7:45 when you said you still didn't know what your doing 😮 you had me fooled. If you were to read the phone book we would still listen in. Beautiful piece of oak with great colors. Stay safe be well. Dennis Thank you birthday boy ! Many more
I see a lot of comments on the way you comment your work, but nobody will stop looking out for your next video. I wait every week to see your new piece, your work is marvellous every time
Hi Phil, Dan here. Love the way you are not sure at first, but it still ends up a classic. Wait every week for the next video. Please keep them coming. Thanks again.
Phil your commentary is never unwanted or boring. I think it's is part of the reason you have so many dedicated fans. The piece is a beaut, love the inside grain pattern in particular. Keep on keeping on my friend.
Please keep talking Phil , there are other videos where they don't talk (boring). Tell some stories while you work , always entertaining and informative.
Phil, please keep the commentary coming!!! I’ve learned more from watching and listening to you as you work!!! A beautiful bowl, thank you for sharing!!
Phil, your explanations never get old. You do such a good job of explaining what you're doing and why you're doing it. Keep it up. Besides, you never know when someone new is going to tune in to your channel and has never heard your explanation before. Not only that, but you've got to say something during those times! Beautiful bowl - once again. Thanks for all your thoughtful and helpful videos.
Hi Phil, When I started watching your videos a couple years ago I learned so much. I looked forward to your instruction and listened intently for your pearls of wisdom. If you stopped talking It would be a shame when the next new viewer comes along and misses out on your commentary. Keep talking.
Phil, yet another beautiful piece 👍 Please don't change! I look forward to your videos every week, I enjoy every single one of them 😊 You are a constant inspiration to me 👍
Dont change. I, as many others, need and love to hear your signature phrases. We enjoy seeing the processes you use to achieve the end results. I like seeing as this one the little nub stop turning instead of giving up in pieces. So keep it up. We enjoy you, Phil, as much as the nifty little live oak bowl.
I love to hear you think out loud. That's when you teach. I love my half-inch gouge. It's lighter, and I have much more control than with a 5/8" what a beautiful piece,Phil. All the little different darker spots really makes it pop!!!
Morning Phil, My tea is cold again LOL. Great video Phil and a lovely looking live edge bowl. I know the words you say off by heart when you remove the tenon and your videos would not be the same without them. I do not know anyone who removes the nub so perfectly. So please keep it all in. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
PLEASE continue to talk us through what you are doing!! Sure, I've seen and heard it before, but reminding is always helpful. When I first started watching your videos, I was wintering in Yuma, Arizona, so I didn't have my wood lathe with me. So when I got home, I watched more and could go right to my lathe and practice! Also, there will be some new viewers, and they would need to listen, watch, and learn from you. We "older" viewers can still learn! A side note: I have discovered that with shellac, you can add an additional coat, and the shellac will fuse with the former coat, and not just add a new coat on top of the old. That's why you can keep your brushes for so long--the shellac just softens the old shellac on the brush, and it all blends together. And be assured that I do like the shape that you made. It is beautiful wood, and a beautiful bowl, as well!😊
Greetings from Down Under. Please do not change a thing. Yes, we can talk along with you but that is the fun and the joy of watching you every week. Don't change a thing!
It’s a fruit bowl and a beautiful one. The bark is so nice! Phil, you are a one of a kind treasure. I look forward to your videos every week. Your commentary is what sets you apart as the best my friend.
Another great project and I have to tell you that I actually laughed out loud when you said it looked like a cottage cheese container. NO ONE gets tired of your great commentary! Absolutely Beautiful bowl! I also take my tenons off on the lathe also. I hate using the hand chisel.
Beautiful, as usual. Those of us who have seen and heard you finishing a bowl dozens of times don't get tired of watching you and listening to you explain what you are doing. We know it by heart, and I even repeat some of it when I am turning. We also know there are those who haven't heard it yet and wouldn't want to deprive them of your instructions. So, talk away. Thanks for sharing.
Lease don’t change an!! A big part of the allure of your channel IS your light banger” commentary “. We love you!! The piece you just turned is awesome!!
Thank you once again for the incredible gift you have and to share that gift with everyone. Thank you as well for showing us the starting process. Outstanding.
Never get tired of your repetitions of what you are doing because it reminds me of what I have to do when I’m turning wood or any other job I’m doing , as my grandfather used to say , Think twice measure thrice cut once and remind yourself what you are doing next in the process of completing the project , all the best from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺
Another Masterpiece, please don’t change anything you do , that is why I watch and follow you. Always such interesting pieces and always love the bark on. Thanks again Phil. All the best to you. Regards Jim
Thank You Phil...I forget which one that was. Could it be Silk Oak? I put some leaves in a zip-lock bag in the bottom and a description of the tree? Or not, cause I also forget. Silk Oak comes from Australia/New Zealand and used for landscaping in the Bay Area....Gee Phil I would probably have trouble sleeping Thursday night if you stopped doing your spiel, ha... until next time ...TM
Thank you Tuffy, and HBD! I am an April kid too. It looks a lot like the California Coastal Live oak that I got from a friend in the Monterey area. Lots of brown spots in that wood.
Not familiar with Silk Oak but I have turned some Live Oak from you. That's what made me think it may be that. You note in this box just said Oak. No matter, really, it was fun to turn and turned out pretty nice! Thanks, buddy! 😊
Hey Phil, so glad that you eventually came 'round to liking this piece. It looked for a moment as if you were going to be sad and disappointed with something that is actually quite nice. :-). The slightly unusual color and the dark spots on the wood make it visually interesting. It will be interesting to read other people's comments about going over many of the same steps in each turning. To long-time viewers, the repetition might be dull, but to new viewers, the information could still be valuable. In any case, thank you for another fun video and thanks to Tuffy for sending the wood. P. S. The notion of celebrating your birthday by giving something to someone else, (as Tuffy seems to have done), sounds intriguing.
Nice bowl, Phil. Don't change anything you do. You just be you. You didn't get to 64K subs because we're tired if hearing you. If anyone doesn't like it, they don't have to watch. Besides, any new viewers will have the chance to hear you and appreciate your commentary. Bill
Hi there Sr. How nice to see you every week. It's already part of my life and I want to thank you for this weekly good moment we share, you with this amazing conversation me full of confidence: always you are going to produce something great. God bless. Until next week!
I turn a lot of wood of unknown origin, I am always pleases with the results. I too have to change my horse in the middle of the stream to get my results To begin with, it not looking like the results you were expecting and expressing how disappointed with the looks you were going for, all your changes worked, I would show it off to everyone the result was a beautiful bowl. I would always keep on explaing what you are doing and not should not bore anyone. We all need a reminder once in a while. If you feel you are too good to be reminded, you might miss some of Phils valuable teachings. He tells us HOW, WHERE, AND WHEN he accomplishes to get the professional look out of all his turnings. This is why I tune into your channel every week. KEEP ON TURNING 😋
Love the colour, and those dark features really made the piece. Carole (the lady who makes my life worth living) wasn’t sure about the bark around the time you started work on the inside, but at the end she really liked it.
Hi Phil, I love that style of bowl. I have made quite a few like that, it's beautiful and well done! Please don't change anything about your videos. The tenant removal is genius, you taught me that! It takes a bit of practice but it's simpler and there is less chance of damage to the piece than with a chisel and mallet. As for your commentary.... please continue with them, its like woodturning gospel to me. Glenn
Phil, i like all the others I never get tired of hearing your process because it’s always good and honest, and i think you were maybe forgetting the golden rule at the beginning, it is what it is and the wood will let you know what it wants to be, nature will find a way. Loving your work as always, my wood turning inspiration, thanks from the UK
Keep up with the commentary! We don't watch your videos just for the woodturning. You make pieces that most of us would be afraid to tackle, and you talking through the process helps!
CRICKY Phill I just love your " WITY WISE AND OTHER WISE "👏👏👏🏅🏅🏅 COMMENTS WHILE YOU ARE TURNING. What makes a good Turner is repetition repetition repetition repetition repetition repetition repetition. Love your work mate bloody ripper. Keep the dream alive son, is my repetitive comment to all of my 50 channels that i have as subscribers. Aussie Aussie Aussie GDAY MATE from brisbane Australia
You can never be certain if you have someone visiting your channel for the first so please, keep up the commentary. If anyone doesn't wanna hear you, they can turn down, or even off, the volume. Another really pretty piece Phil.
I LOVE the character in this piece of wood!! And the bark is unusually thick! I was a bit worried it might turn loose in a section and ruin the live edge appearance. As for hearing you describe what you do, the steps you take to create each piece, I dont mind it at all. Anybody that might be tired of it can just go hang! Its your channel, Phil, you do and say whatever you want!! Thanks for another gorgeous, unique piece of art!❤
Mr Phil, I have just one thing to say to you. DO NOT CHANGE! Stay exactly who you are, the way you are. It's the reason we all love you and your channel. I will never tire of your commentary. Keep up the beautiful work. But don't change a thing. We love you just the way you are.

I feel the same way
One of the reasons I wait with baited breath each week for your videos is your commentary. That is what got me started. I never get tired of repeated comments. Once again you let the wood show us it’s best side.
Thanks, Douglas! 😊
Some days as I get ready to work outside I say outloud, Mask and face shield on (wearing neither) and commence to starting my day!
Haha, thanks for the chuckle! 😊
When I’m washing up, I “commence to removing that tenon”.
When you share what you're doing you're teaching, it's why I enjoy every piece you create! Please keep up the good work!
Thank you, Carolyn! 😊
It looks good tome too, Phil and I for one don’t get tired of your voice overs. We all need to be reminded regularly or we….. what do we do? Oh, yes, forget 🤣🌞
Haha, thanks, Ray! 😊
Don't change how you do your turning videos. We love seeing all the steps and hearing you talk through all the process. We love all your catchphrases.
Ok thanks! 😀

Oh don't change your narrative I like to hear it. The Live Oak bowl is so pretty!!! I'm going back to designing more greeting cards. Have a good weekend. 👍🙂
Greeting cards, huh? Do you use any equipment like a Cricut or anything like that? Have fun! 😊
That turned out very pretty Phil. Nice wood, love the shape. Dont stop your commentary, even if some are tired of it, its not fair to new viewers to miss out. Besidez, its part of the charm of your channel.

Haha, oh the stories I could tell... Thanks, Ronnie! 😊
I always enjoy hearing Thank you Tuffy Marginez for this piece of wood.

I think that piece needs a laying hen statue and some wood shavings to sit inside of it.
😊
Phil, please keep the commentary coming!!! I’ve learned more from watching and listening to you as you work!!! A beautiful bowl, thank you for sharing!!
OK, thank you! 😊
I haven't gotten tired of your commentary. After all, the first thing I think to myself when I get started is "Mask and face shield on."
We should put that on a shirt! 😂 love ya phil
Cool, thanks, Dave! 😊
“Mask and face shield on” always makes me think of Captain Picard saying, “Make it so!”
Phil, your explanations never get old. You do such a good job of explaining what you're doing and why you're doing it. Keep it up.

Wow, what a beauty. A pleasure as always.😊

In any case, thank you for another fun video and thanks to Tuffy for sending the wood.
P. S. The notion of celebrating your birthday by giving something to someone else, (as Tuffy seems to have done), sounds intriguing.

Keep up with the commentary! We don't watch your videos just for the woodturning. You make pieces that most of us would be afraid to tackle, and you talking through the process helps!
OK, thanks, David! 😊
Very nice bowl. Like the character in the grain and dark areas. Like that’s it has a low glaze finish. 👍
Thank you! Cheers! 😊
Beautiful!,,, I’ve always looked forward to getting a chance to turn live oak. Happy Bday Tuffy.
Thank you! 😊

Haha, always a joy, Ernie, thank you! 😊
i love all the little dark spots and fissures and the chocolate bark really sets off the lighter wood
Cool, thanks, Joyce! 😊
Love your chatter and comments and I learn so much!
I'm so glad! 😁
Personally, I really like the commentary. Great piece, yet again!!🙂👍
Thank you, Ron! 😊
You can never be certain if you have someone visiting your channel for the first so please, keep up the commentary. If anyone doesn't wanna hear you, they can turn down, or even off, the volume. Another really pretty piece Phil.
Thank you, Vicki! 😁
As always Phil, very nice piece! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Kurt! 😀
OK, Texana, thank you, I will continue to rattle on! 😊
Never tired from the Philippines
Thank you, Ian! 😊
