I ordered this bag with my own money and the colour is Vancouver Grey. I'd love to know which colour you guys prefer? Outlier Cap bit.ly/SupermarineCap By the way, it weighs: 0.98kg / 2.16lb
@@MartialCast Yeah, I will try to adjust my cameras white balance to more accurately portray the colour. Its definitely growing on me, but I still kinda which I chose the black lol
@@PackingLess I don't think they the issue colour-wise is on you. Even on the minaal website it looks lighter. In a world of black backpacks I'm happy with Grey.
Love the clean look of the bag, and I usually go for black but the grey actually looks a bit nicer imo. I really dislike the full clamshell laptop compartments, but the top or side-access feature is pretty neat. Doesn't look like it would be super comfy fully loaded, but I look forward to seeing the full review!
I kind of feel like I should have gotten the black one lol but the more I see the grey the more it grows on me. I feel the grey might get dirtier easier but I'll test more in the review. The straps do seem quite thin but somehow still quite comfy. I'll do a full loadout test and different packing configurations in the full review.
How comfortable is this for daily use, such as commuting to work? I’ve seen some reviews mentioning that the form factor isn’t very comfortable to hold for extended periods.
When fully packed I found it pretty uncomfortable but when only packed about half full, and only a few non heavy items it wasnt too bad. It doesnt standup on its own though which can be a problem
i havent had a chance to really use it fully loaded because of the lockdowns. But I did notice the straps can dig in a bit on the edge if its packed too heavily. I do intend to do a more thorough review once I get a chance to really use it more though
For me, I tend to use Vapur collapsible bottles so they dont fit very well into bottle pockets anyway. They have a built in carabiner too so I can clip it on the backpack strap for easy access when I need to drink.
Ive had my eye on the Evergoods for a while but they're a little heavy (the CPL 24 is 2.8lbs (1270g)) Part of the reason I like this bag is that it just manages to get under 1kg (2.2lbs)
@@mindtheyoutubegap I haven't tried the CPL bags in person myself yet, but I think they're very durable and well made and comfortable straps. I like the little velcro patch they have too (like the goruck which share the same founder). I think the CPL is more of an all around kind of durable do it all bag. Whereas the Minaal is slightly more of a work or school kind of bag for shorter trips

I thought the weight of the Minaal 3.0 was more like 3.1 lbs??
@@DVelez-wz3fe This is the smaller 'Daily' version
Perfect overview Dean. Keen to see how the Bellroy Workpack goes against this little fella. Its 850g and has very similar features.
Looks interesting, I'll try get one in to check out
How much does it weigh? This looks like it would be ideal for a personal item! Looking forward to your packing video using this bag. Best :D
It weighs 0.98kg / 2.16lb while empty. I'm liking it a lot so far
I also received mine yesterday! Looking forward to be able to use it.
Awesome what colour/size did you get?
@@PackingLess Same as you, I'm happy that the Vancouver grey is darker in reality than in pictures/videos.

I'm digging the Vancouver grey! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I kind of like it but I think I like the black more, I'll be changing it to the black one so I can show both colours in the final review :)

Would love to see you packing the bag for travel purposes.
Sure, I'll be showing a few different packing configurations in the full review
Some good design features but plenty of other bags with similar design that are much cheaper.
True, but I think this is one of the most minimal bags with all these features. I wish it were a little lighter weight too
How have you liked the bag now that some time has passed? Thinking of ordering one but have read complaints about its comfortability

@@PackingLess thanks mate, looking forward to the updated review!
Looks good but why do people like internal water bottles?
Because it doesn't bang on things you walk past or make your pack feel lop-sided. And never falls out. Oh and makes the bag look cleaner :)

Do you think a 16 inch MacBook Pro would fit?
Yes according to their website it: fits up to 16" laptops & 11" tablets
Not impressed. I’d rather get the CPL 24 from Evergoods
