Thank you Will and gmsarena for this - you are always my number one go-to site for smartphone reviews. I've been vascilating over the mid-range Samsung A25 and a more expensive flagship phone. Whilst the flagship is my preferred phone it is still waaaay too pricey for what you get, including very limited OS upgrades (I am sure you can guess what it is) and I just can't justify the extra expense. After watching your review I am happy to settle for the Samsung as it ticks all the boxes for me, especially the multiple Android upgrades/security updates, headphone jack and stereo speakers. Keep up the great work, guys.
Yoh, I feel like you need to expand on the (1)performance section as all your phone reviews it is only asphalt 9 that you use to conclude how good the performance of this device is(phones these days handle this game well).Including the performance of everyday tasks(not just games) and showing if there are lags at all will be really informational.(2)Adding(info) software features(camera modes, one features) that Samsung choose to remove from their budget lineup would also be fantastic.Also keep up the the good work.

Bazels are found in higher range phones too . The bazels on this phone doesn't keep me from seeing how nice the visuals looks its a good phone. For a budget phone. As long as you can see the screen and how good it looks its fine . And this phone rocks so does the camera . I find some of these budget phones better then the high range phones lately .more affordable and does all you need to with them interesting times . So there has to be nitpicking because its a thread to higher priced phones .
Finally a phone on the level of the S10+ kicks around the curb in full swing.
The expandable storage and headphone jack alone make this a contender for one of the best, let alone it's incredible lighting capabilities and it's fantastic accuracy and speed all-round.
If it had water-dust resistance it would probably be one of the best phones out today.
Did you end up getting it? I'm on S10, it's crazy how we are considering this phone over their flagship purely for headphone jack and micro SD card slot
@@ozziekhooWe're losing the battle as years pass by. The successors of the A52S and A32 lost their headphone jacks. So might as well expect the A26 to lose it too.
I used to belittle this until I checked carefully and used gsmarena's Compare tool. Camera is nearly the same with my Velvet but this one has OIS (picture). My Velvet has a hard time playing Genshin on Low but this one seems to have it fine (other vids).
Would've moved to Xiaomi but they are now doing a Samsung since microsd support got taken out first followed by headphone jack with Poco F6 launch. I hate this market.
What about the SIM cards? Does it share a spot with the SD card or is it a dedicated dual SIM with dedicated SD slot?

@maramee7ox884 on its own, it's not that bad of a device. It has a great camera, which is usable even on lowlight scenarios. Stabilization on all resolutions works really well. I'd say it works the best for 1080p.
The insane speeds of 5G have been very helpful for me a lot of times. Although be warned, it consumes a LOT of battery.
Coming from a budget phone that has a 6000 mAh battery, A25 is sort of mediocre or average sort of... It barely lasts me a day, even with 5G off, and that is on top of battery optimizations I did, in particular setting the refresh rate to automatically change to 60fps if Im watching a video or playing a game...
The performance is okay if you dont use too many apps or customize OneUI using GoodLock (idk why, tweaks like Sound Assistant or HomeUp just makes the UI stutter a lot so I just stopped using them) but otherwise the experience is good with occasional lag that you might encounter.
I am not that of a gamer, so I dont know the performance of FPS games, although Asphalt 9 works great! It even supports high framerate gaming on this device.
My mom's got the a14 5g and it's pretty good compared to my a50, only manko is no oled. Which the A25 has, so it should be a quite snappy phone overall.
I don't quite understadn the camera thing, it says it's got a 50Mp camera but the images are only 12Mp somehow.@@maramee7ox884

2:08 my experience with the fingerprint reader is that it doesn't work well, same goes for the face-id. They just fail too often but it might be the phone and not all A25's..

In my country, a25 has a similar price with a34(new set) and redmi 13 pro , its kinda awkward since we can choose the other better models.

Just purchased one yesterday..so far i am loving it.only thing is i'm from Barbados and our 2 mobile service providers are still on 4G.don't know when they will upgrade to 5G.

If anyone is thinking about a Chinese phone as an alternative like the Xiaomi Poco X6, just remmeber that it may have a hidden spychip and preinstalled spyware. Just something else to consider.

We think the same about Iphone and other brands. Chinese phones are very safe. No chance of spyware. They are good at business. 😊

The A22 had an 8MP ultrawide, so I don't know why they stripped it with the A22 5G, A23s and A24 and then brought it back to call it an 'upgrade'.
Got mine, my biggest issue with a25 5g is this unit can easily get hot af. I've tried everything to limit the app running in the bg but Jesus it only helped a bit.😅
I think it's because of the 120Hz they have applied on this model.

No. A25 is much better than A51. It is more like on par with the A53 (same Exynos 1280 CPU, etc.).

I currently have the Galaxy A50 and found it to be a great phone - speakers and so forth. I am looking into purchasing a new phone (time for an upgrade - perhaps mid price range phone). I was thinking about the Samsung (5G) A25, A34 or A54... unless someone can suggest some other model (I am willing to look into another company -IF it is offers better value for my money).
I do use my hands-free often (I really liked the headphone jack- could charge my phone and chat privately all in one) and would like something with a great battery life span.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on which phone to consider.

It depends on your budget. If you got more to spend then I'd suggest go for A54, however if budget is a concern, then go for A34 over A25 as it has a better chip performance (minus the earphone jack), better protection such as Gorilla Glass 5 and IP 67 rating performance that will make it more durable than A25, and also slightly better camera stabilization.
In terms of usage, Samsung offers the best choice for long usage as it promised 4 years of guaranteed security update.

The back reminds me of S5 bandaid texture. Well for this type of range A20s, for normal basic usage is good enough for someone who one to have samsung ui in hand, think Xiaomi Redmi series is more of a value imo.

It's that way to not look similar to the a55 or the more expensive ones.
They don't want you owning a budget phone with a good looking hole punch, they want it to be functional but still a little ugly to the taste. Not like Xiaomi that you get nothing but smooth looking phones from budget to high-end. Only the features, materials and performance are different. for that, Xiaomi wins my taste
Few upgrades is pretty good while others just ok.
i have low vision, so one very important feature for me is Color Conversion. On Facebook, I must use "color conversion" so I can read the text of a post. Unfortunately, my present phone (A20) also converts the picture (making it look like a black and white negative). Do you know if the A25 will allow me to color convert text without changing the photo?
Colour conversion works by affecting the colours of all the elements in the screen, it can't differentiate between images and text, unfortunately.

Hey I just need some confirmation on the EIS/OIS on the camera for this phone. The GSM arena specs page says OIS but the review(both written and video) says EIS. Can anyone confirm if it is EIS or OIS? 😅
This phone has both OIS and EIS. However while recording videos, most phones disable OIS and use EIS only as it's more effective for video stabilization. And when video stabilization (EIS) is turned off, the phone use OIS when recording video.
@@arjunkrishna1 Thanks for the reply. OIS was a concern for me as I use my phone on motorcycle. I'm just afraid that the vibration will break the ois system even with a quad lock mount with dampeners. I'll just have to try it out to know.
It does have OIS for photos and it does have EIS for videos. it's both on the specs page and in the reviews.

I looked at one of these phones it had a very loud clicking sound when you use the power key 😞
I've been using it for the past 3 days, and it makes me forget that I'm using the A25, not my A54. That said, the phone noticably lags sometimes when I use YT in pip and try to open a heavier app. Apart from that, I've been a fan of it..

@---MK--- A54 is a bit better, but battery life on A25 beats it, imo.
If budget is not a concern, I'd go with A54.
If budget is a concern and you are buying in US, I'd still go A54 but buy on straight talk or Total by Verizon. It unlocks after 60 days.
A25 is not a bad device at all, but if you are comparing, A54 is a bit superior.

I currently own a galaxy s22 ultra. Next time I think I will go for one of these cheaper options, I dont play demanding games on it anyway.

have a24 hate the hell of it , the back scratches like crazy, charging sometimes goes crazy allso some wierd behaviours especially refusing to connect yo computer via usb. last Samsung shiet for me also the it's wide and never comfortable to use in one hand. next phone realme 11 pro or realme 12 pro plus or nothing phone 2a
How is A54 ?
Im confused. You said it had a 50mp main camera, but only spoke about a 12.5mp main camera? huh?
That is the default resolution setting of the main cam. Probably no point shooting 50 MP, only the size increases, but the quality does not.
How long for phones in this price range to significantly slow down that it hampers the user experience?

I'm still using a Samsung A51 as a backup phone. It's an older phone that is running just fine...
My grandad is still running a A50 with no issues. Iv even compared it with my s23 and theres not much speed difference in opening basic apps.

Just to add: My A51 is running Android 13. One UI version 5.1. Last security patch was August 01, 2023. The phone came out December 2019.. Still running fine.
I think I'll go with Samsung Galaxy A34, almost the same Price, small bezels and ip67 rating ....

Im dissapointed with recent budget galaxys camera predormance, my a21s which is 4 generations older takes better photos and videos (unusable at night tho) the new phones all have this weird look to them like someone threw out half the detail and sharpened it back

When will the industry drop the macro camera. They put it there for looks nobody uses that thing. They are trying to give their phones a distinguished, uniform, and easy to recognise look much like one i brand has been doing for years. If a phone is going to be equipped with hardware it must be useful budget or not budget phone. Would be better if it had a 50mp main, a 12mp ultra and a 12mp 3x tele that would've been good use of space and useful weight instead of carrying around dead weight hardware
Good point, but if I had to give anything up, it would be the selfie camera in favour of optical zoom and telephoto lens, even if it means dropping pixel density. More pixels doesn't always give superior images. In fact I bet I could take a better image with just 12mp but greater contrast and SNR with pixel binning than a 50mp image.
