Here's a video on how to clean a bronze watch, using lemon juice and baking power to make a paste. To completely remove the patina, use sodium bicarbonate and citric acid. ua-cam.com/video/Uufuud73PnY/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing this. However, I am not sure I would ever want to completely remove the patina, as patina was the major reason I got this watch in the first place.
Great video my friend. I have had my Black Bay Bronze grey edition on distressed leather strap for about 5 months. The only thing I have used to clean it is a slightly moist cotton bud, and the patina is coming along naturally. Thank you very much for showing us your beautiful watch Sir 👍 Tam.
B. Hey Tam, thank you so much for the support & am glad you enjoyed the video. A moist cotton bud is the first thing that came to my mind too but just wanted to see what people, who probably know more than me, were cleaning it with 🙏🏻👍🏻
I have had the same watch and strap for some eight months ago. I really love it. For me the bronze and its developing patina has a steam punk look that I find very appealing.
Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, with a small percentage of tin. The green colour is caused by verdigris a patina formed on copper or brass by atmospheric oxidation. The patina will be affected by things like, acid in the grease from your fingers, and friction from the strap where it rubs against the case.
Just watching this video now...first - video quality and lighting look great. Second, the content is great as well. Tudor should be sending you something nice. I bought one of these today, and your videos had a good bit to do with that.
I33:3 firstly - massive congratulations on the new purchase 🥳 Beware though, this watch is VERY addictive 😍 Secondly - thank you so much for the kind words, glad to hear my videos have been useful. Lastly - I am probably too small for Tudor to notice but if I could encourage you to use any of the links in the description that would help the channel massively 🙏🏻 [P.S.: Enjoy the watch in good health my friend 🙌🏻]
Beautiful watch. Tudor makes the best bronze watch on the market. They patina and darken, then basically stop. They don't develop the gnarly look of some other brands. Agree with you I like it better like this than when brand new. Appreciate the video. Very helpful
Thank you my friend 🙏🏻 the new bronze release seems to have broken the internet for all the right reasons 😍🤩 I think the new bronze 58 was long overdue. All the goodness of the BB bronze in a perfectly sized package of the 58 and then some 🔥
You can clean up the watch and bring the entire thing right back to its original golden shine using Brasso to remove the patina completely. Which i wouldn't do as you stated, it adds the character.
Interesting. However, I doubt I will ever do that as I absolutely adore the patina. Plus I haven't reached that stage in life yet, where I can pull off a blingy gold watch...but good to know this is a possibility :)
Lovely watch, great choice. The patina is very nice. That OEM strap sets it all off too. This is now on my “to buy” list. 👍👍 You’ve done a good job with the video and lighting.
Nice mine still has very little patina. I like the NATO strap for it. I need to get it for mine has the black suede strap. Rubber B has made a closed end strap for this model. They just released it last week in 4 colors.
Mr Perpetual I wear it pretty much every day hence the build up of patina. And I can only recommend the fabric strap. It not only looks good & fits well but makes the watch more versatile too 🙌🏻
Please show the caseback next time along with a shot of the watch on your wrist before or after you show your wrist size. Makes it easier for others to get an idea without having to search for it. Thanks for the great video though!
Yuanmei Thank you for the constructive feedback. The case back is a bit difficult to film, given that I have the fabric strap that covers most of it. A bit easier to film that on the leather strap watch. But I will definitely try 🙌🏻
@@AnIndianAbroad I ordered a matching watch strap from Watch Gecko (UK), which eventually arrived yesterday. It's a black ZULUDIVER Sailcloth divers watch strap (www.watchgecko.com/sailcloth-watch-strap), with the yellow stitching option. I also bought a Black ZULUDIVER PVD finish buckle to replace the brushed silver one. It's a perfect match for the black face, and the Swiss Super-LumiNova C3 detail on my watch; it really looks the part now. The straps are a touch expensive for what they are, but the quality is top-notch. The strap is thicker at the lugs, and then tappers towards the buckle end by a couple of millimetres. Glad you found the video worthwhile. And honestly, just because the bronze on my watch has dulled, does not necessarily mean it will behave the same for you too. That is the thing about Bronze watches, they develop unique patina based on who/how/where wears it. And from what I have heard, it is possible to clean/restore a bronze watch to how it was on day 1, but I personally would never do that as patina is what makes this watch unique to the owner.
