One thing that gets overlooked in this is that at the end of his time at Boro Clough actually did an electrical apprenticeship so he’d have a trade when his playing career ended. This was even shown in a Pathe newsreel talking about the maximum wage in football.
Of course Clough went to Sunderland where they saw the talent he had for tactics and made him reserves coach, the rest is history. So he probably knew exactly what was wrong with the iron.
Throwing Pearce under the bus, because probs like a typical sparky, he'd misdiagnosed the element issue. Clough the font of all knowledge😅

Mark is funny, but it is a bit of an act, stories with a semblance of truth, embellished for comedic effect. Seen him tell the stories years ago, and now tells the same stories in a different way. No harm in what he does, always shows Cloughie in a good light to be fair.

Does a very red nose and blotchy skin mean excess alcohol use
It can do but not always it could be a blood pressure problem as well as in it could be to high as in very high cholesterol.
As you get over in to your late 50s, like 56 into your 60s, your blood pressure will always change.
My Mum always had very low blood pressure, but when she got into her 60's, it's now spot on blood pressure can be hard to control even with medication.
Of as you are saying, it can be down to far too much alcohol but it would need to be to excess only a daily basis
& it only affects mostly men in that way.
My Dad has known a few alcoholics over the years & it did not affect any of them in that way.
