Smart Home Solver I clicked on your video to learn about camera doorbells, not to hear threats of killing people. I’m very appalled. You should be ashamed of yourself
Excellent video. I have the Eufy hardwire doorbell and have been pretty satisfied with it. Looks like you reviewed their newer battery doorbell. Their hardwired doorbell does have HDR capabilities.
this review is outstanding. finally someone who understands pace ! everything moves fast but the content full explanations are well timed. last but not least he ditched the time consuming box opening. who wants to watch someone open packages? just communicate pertinent facts. this guy should teach others how to create videos. he is amazing.
Have you ever had a private conversation about your health issues, financial worries, emotional problems or family situations at home? - the correct answer is no. you have not.
As a UPS driver, I hear people say "Thank you" but the audio cuts out and by the time they say anything I already left but I hear it by the time I get in the truck. It's really awkward. I wouldn't try to use audio in these, it seems really delayed.
I have the Eufy battery version and a extra camera (also battery) on the side of the house. Works great, live feed, face detection and long battery life.
The nice thing about Ring though is that they offer an alarm system with professional monitoring for only $100 per year (by far the cheapest), which can be offset by the discount you get on your home insurance. And the professional monitoring subscription includes recording for an unlimited number of cameras. So if you were already going to get the alarm, there’s no extra cost if you get a Ring Doorbell and want recording.
While I agreed with this sentiment at first, the monthly fee is basically a convenience and features fee. We have a Ring Pro and for the $30/year, I get 24/7 recording, a pretty nicely made app and a great "rapid ring" companion app that just launches you straight into live view of the camera. I get notifications and am looking at live view before a person reaches my door and it's been rock solid reliable and fast with notifications. Image and recording quality could be better but the other features and reliability are more important to me personally. Eufy are the only company that I know of who do local storage and no cloud subscription needed. I haven't used their doorbell but Life hackster's channel last year indicated that the doorbell stops recording if you activate 2 way talk. I hope this has been fixed but haven't read up on it. I have the Eufy 2k pan and tilt indoor cam and it's been fantastic and significantly cheaper than Arlo/Nest/Ring indoor cams.
Great video. I have had the EUFY wireless doorbell, a regular wireless security camera, the wired spotlight camera, and a door sensor on my garage. They all work great. So simple to set up. No subscription fees required.
I have had the Eufy for over six months now and it's great, there are zero downsides in my opinion. I have two Nest Outdoor security cams and while they're great for what they do, I hate the fact that they have to be dedicated hardwired and the monthly subscription fee is a must. Hopefully Eufy will come out with a rival outdoor security camera and I'll just sell the Nest cams.
Arlo Has Improved Its Design Of The Doorbell And It Actually Works Good For Me, I Have The Improved Model Of It Make Sure To Check Firmware Updates In The Doorbell Settings Or Check App Updates But In My Opinion I Rate It A 7.5/10.
As he said, it didn't notify him because he set motion detection to "human only". If you wanted to get a notification for everything you can set it up as shown in 5:27, by clicking on "all motion" :)
Super helpful. Looking to get a video doorbell for my grandparents who don't find it as easy to get to the door these days. It certainly seems like the Nest Hello is the most user friendly in terms of them being able to speak to whoever's at the door. Having to click a notification would be too much, but an automatic feed, such as to a Nest Hub, seems perfect!
And THIS is how you review a product or set of products! This clearly took you a lot of work and a long time to create, so thank you. Quite informative.
Went with Eufy and never turned back. FYI: Eufy is owned by Anker who makes excellent hardware like batteries and phone accessories. Even their wireless earbuds last for 2 days and are great. Would recommend them.
I'm an older guy and been watching UA-cam since it started. I don't subscribe though. You are my 3rd subscription ever. Thank you for the honest review. Not some sales pitch like most reviews where the product is always a gift from god. Keep up the good work.
I think a lot of some of the issues you might have faced in some cameras have to do with network speeds both cellular and WiFi. I agree monthly subscriptions has got to go! I hope Eufy can include HomeKit secure video in the battery powered one!
Thank you so much! I was totally ignorant of how these video doorbells work. Since my brother installed one for Mom, I realized this would be very useful for me. THANK YOU. so much for educating us on features, cost, deficiencies, etc....you have saved me a lot of money. I value your effort, time and unselfishness to educate us. You are such an awesome teacher!
I have had the Eufy wired doorbell for over 2 months and it's really great most of the time. Some problems I have is with its motion detection. It can detect a person at my door no problem. I person on the sidewalk well then it doesn't detect anything. If I turn the sensitivity up it will detect every car going by my house but still not people on the sidewalk. It's not a deal-breaker but certainly not what I was expecting. The other issue is the wife and I will disable motion alerts and the doorbell will still push alerts to our phones. So that meant I had to turn the motion detection sensitivity down. At the end of the day, it's a great doorbell with no hidden fees or annual subscription. I also like that my video data isn't uploaded to the cloud and remains secured at my home. I highly recommend this doorbell.
I come back to this everytime I need a refresher on doorbells, hands down one of the best videos I've come across explaining the differences and benefits of each. Thank you.
I've had the eufy doorbell for about 2 years. I really do not have any issues. My main problem/concern is that they do not respond to emails, and they have never updated the software (firmware, or app). Software-wise the issues I find are - they do not automatically delete old alerts, so it will fill up your phone and you have to go day by day to delete. WiFi range has not been an issue for me. It has never gone offline. Really good product.
I got the whole home Eufy system cameras, doorbell, motion sensor , window/door sensors, keypad home alarm. All for under 600$ and I'm in love, easy setup and very good quality.
Who would have thought that we would reach a day in which choosing a doorbell was such a decision-making process. I very very much appreciated your video and have since become a subscriber! Thanks again.
This was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for going through all of the effort and testing every aspect of each doorbell! It seriously helps me to choose a system that I can actually understand and makes sense. Seriously, THANK YOU SO MUCH
I just installed the nest doorbell and I love it. The 24/7 recording is what sold me on it. I've had a motion system around my home for a few years now and it often missed or didn't record enough footage. I'll be upgrading my entire system to nest over the next few months.
Thanks for the hard work. I always wanted to see a comprehensive comparo videos of all the popular door bell. Coming from the Nest video doorbell, I hate the Ring Pro that I have in the new home. I was about to make the switch and really wanted to check out other offerings as well. Thanks again for doing this!
Glad you've got Ring, it's a great choice! I'll keep sharing automation tips and ideas, these videos just help those who are still figuring out what to buy.
Definitely recommend this stuff. I was a kickstarter backer for the cameras and they’ve been working great since. And they constantly update the camera with new features too. The only thing that bothers me is the newer base station doesn’t have a battery in it for power outages.
I bought a Eufy a few weeks ago. I thought it was the best opinion for someone like me. This video confirmed everything that I was looking for at the time that I purchased it.
I’ve had the Arlo for 3 months. Not sure why you had so many problems. My delay is maybe 1-2 seconds. I haven’t had any of the app issues you’ve experience. You may have received a lemon. Arlo can also disable chime Arlo is set it and forget it. No problems.
I'm glad you like it. I've read about others having some similar experiences as me with the Arlo video doorbell in their forums. I think it's a software issue, though it's not a problem for everyone, since it does have some good reviews on Amazon.
I am going to be using an Amcrest soon. Went that direction as it works with Blue Iris. I'm hoping to integrate it into my smart home as well. Thanks for the great videos! 👍
If you're in a movie theater. Probably won't hear the notification of a break in. Monitoring companies. Will actually send someone to your home. And call the police on your behalf. If necessary.
Thank you!!! Not only are your videos DA BOMB, you also just made me laugh out loud for the first time in days with your "troubleshooting" of the Arlo camera, the last step where you verbally threatened the camera.... Thank you for you doing tech videos with a sense of humor!!!!!.
I'd really love for a Gen 2 on the Nest Hello and I keep tweeting at Nest to push them as I'm sure people would love an updated version as well. I'd gladly pay more for 1080p with HDR. The 24/7 recording is what is the winner for me. Hands down. Thanks for the video.
I have a sky bell with my security system and it WORKS AMAZING I had it before and it was not with my security system and it sucked but now it works great! So I recommend getting skybell with your security system not without it.
These are the kind of videos that force manufacturers to pay attention and improve especially when robbing everyone on monthly fees it needs to be perfect if you are gonna charge. Excellent work 👍
We use Ubiquiti G4 Doorbell which also supports RTSP. It's one of the best cameras and systems out there, no cloud fees, and has other outdoor options for cameras. I would highly recommend testing these, it's one of the best ones out there, it does require some upfront costs with internal equipment, but no. fees and a ton of features, you pay one and you own it. Has all of the positive features all of the ones you noted in the video.
I am using Nest hello. Love it.. Their ringtones changes during the holidays and Halloween for example, when one rings the doorbell, witches scream or something like that. Also new plan, you can add many nest devices with no extra charge..!
Amazing work Reed! I have the Nest Hello doorbell and I am very pleased with it only downside is the cloud storage fees. Love your dedication to Smart Home and helping others.
And Ring could improve by: 1. Adding local storage 2. Improve video/audio quality I have Ring and Eufy flood light cams, and the Ring video is better than Eufy's, however, Eufy has better audio and light output on the flood lights. Plus, I love the local storage of the Eufy.
This video was VERY well executed & I appreciate the integrity as well. I'm curious if you are planning on reviewing the new Wyze doorbell sometime in the near future? It looks like the Eufy doorbell is still the king.
This video was awesome and you did a perfect job of comparing them all. Definitely interested in getting the Eufy with all their features and no fees! One question, does the Eufy support continuous 24/7 playback with their local storage or just only when someone rings the doorbell? Or is that only on the Nest?
Thanks Scott! Eufy doesn’t support 24/7 recording right now. it seems like that they are aware of people wanting that and possibly working on that feature from what it says on their website. I know they are planning on having expandable storage on the base station so hopefully some updates will make the Eufy even better. Right now Nest is doing a great job with it though.
This is a great reveiw however the inclusion of the wired eufy would've been nice, even if unfair to competitors. Anyone know of an in-depth comparison of the wired vs wireless eufy?
This video was on time. Am looking for a doorbell and been doing some research. Was leaning towards Eufy and this video cemented that. Great job, thank you!
I’m trying to start a new smart home, and I love this for checking the difference, and getting opinions. However, I know that a year is a long time in tech, and I wondered if you would still choose the Eufy today? And does it now work with Alexa?
Interesting. Unfortunately there is a lot of junk out there. Subscriptions suck. I have the ring pro but I'm not digging the updated terms and conditions for my door bell so now it does not work as before.
@@joelpiasentin7859 -Thanks Joel but when I say thin I guess I should have said "wide" for one of these video doorbells to mount on my home and be "flush" I need one no more than 1inch wide which is small. If I were to try to mount it with a narrow mount it wouldn't be flush against the wall and would stick out. Thanks again!
@@MrDvdz - Ring has been outstanding and for long-term reviewers still gets the highest rating on reliability (wired versions of their doorbell, floodlight, and spotlight camers). Not sure why you say it's "junk". It's been out longer than any one on this reviewed list (it was the original doorbell camera), so for it still to be in the tops and be 3-4 years older than everyone else on the list is pretty amazing. Says more about the competition than it does about Ring.
CaptainDawg02 ring has relied on their reputation and quality hasn’t gotten much better. I had ring doorbell 1 and 2. Tested the pro but isn’t much better giving how high the price it was and compared to competitors. App isn’t getting much better and loading is slow. Other companies now has better quality and is far cheaper. Couple years ago I would have recommended ring but these days it’s probably on the bottom of my list.
@@anekinoo7 - from an ecosystem perspective, it's still one of the cheapest in the game in total cost for how much integration it has, professional monitoring with no contract including a long cloud storage, and equipment reliability (they still have some of the highest marks on how well their wired solutions hold up outdoors). The Pro is significantly better than the battery powered options, so not sure why you didn't think it wasn't that much better. Not to mention their technology built into their solutions is older by 2 years to the next closest competitor. There are many more brands that are below Ring for me (especially Nest).
Not talked about in this video, but the Eufy wireless can also be hardwired, which will keep the battery topped up. Honestly no reason as a result to buy the wired version.
I have a question, what keeps someone from snatching a doorbell off your porch wall? Is the doorbell software specific to you and someone else can’t reset it and reuse it or something? I ask bc people will steal a package no knowing if anything of value is inside why wouldn’t they take that shiny 200-300 dollar doorbell thingy.

The fact that you censored “Alexa” in the intro is under appreciated. You don’t know how many times this thing falsely picks up commands lol

I'm excited too!
I'm going with Wyze in January. Way cheaper and does everything the others do.
I am using Nest hello. Love it.. Their ringtones changes during the holidays and Halloween for example, when one rings the doorbell, witches scream or something like that. Also new plan, you can add many nest devices with no extra charge..!
Haha! Love the 'Princess Bride' reference!
This is absolutely the best video ive seen comparing different different doorbells. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Amazing work Reed! I have the Nest Hello doorbell and I am very pleased with it only downside is the cloud storage fees. Love your dedication to Smart Home and helping others.
Thanks Ryan! Yeah the Nest Hello is a solid doorbell.
OUTSTANDING video. Getting a new house built and you made my choice MUCH EASIER. Keep up the great work
imagine having all of those doorbells on your house at once lol
I was pretty much ready to pull the trigger on the Eufy with the base station. Your review confirmed it. Thanks. Well done!
Eufy can improve in the following areas:
1. Increase bitrate and frame rate on video.
2. Improve the audio lag.
3. Increase storage space.
A Dutch reviewer said that they were working on a update where you can connect an external storage via the USB.
And Ring could improve by:
1. Adding local storage
2. Improve video/audio quality
I have Ring and Eufy flood light cams, and the Ring video is better than Eufy's, however, Eufy has better audio and light output on the flood lights. Plus, I love the local storage of the Eufy.
lots of detail and unbiased information. I agree with our final choice on Eufy. That is what I will buy based on my online study. Thank you!
This video was VERY well executed & I appreciate the integrity as well. I'm curious if you are planning on reviewing the new Wyze doorbell sometime in the near future? It looks like the Eufy doorbell is still the king.
Instant subscribe. You got to the point, weren't hesitant about mentioning the cons. Good stuff.
Love these vids. Great for making my smart home.
I’m glad to hear that! thanks for the support!
A Little princess Bride reference doesn't hurt. Great real reviews thank you so much
The end bit was so cute 😂❤️❤️
Weird
Insane amount of work, bravo man seriously thank god that we have this kinde of people i salute you.
Great Review and Comparison, thank you!! Also, love the outro, with your daughter locking you two out :)
This is a great reveiw however the inclusion of the wired eufy would've been nice, even if unfair to competitors. Anyone know of an in-depth comparison of the wired vs wireless eufy?
Lifehackster does amazing comparison videos
This video was on time. Am looking for a doorbell and been doing some research. Was leaning towards Eufy and this video cemented that. Great job, thank you!
That's great to hear!
I’m trying to start a new smart home, and I love this for checking the difference, and getting opinions. However, I know that a year is a long time in tech, and I wondered if you would still choose the Eufy today? And does it now work with Alexa?
Go for Eufy, way more faster than Ring that I used for 2years.
@@jcai922 does Eufy require hard wiring? We don't have an existing doorbell.
@@gsollosi get the battery powered version.
Interesting. Unfortunately there is a lot of junk out there. Subscriptions suck. I have the ring pro but I'm not digging the updated terms and conditions for my door bell so now it does not work as before.
I wish one of these units had a slender model that was no more than 1 in. wide.
Eufy makes a wired version that is very thin.
I can't wait til you review the wyze doorbell. I love your reviews and I trust you
Awesome video-unfortunate that Arlo’s performance has deteriorated this much over the years
I know it's disappointing. I really liked their Arlo Pro & Pro 2 cameras but once they split away from Netgear things have gone down hill.
ARLO WAS MY WORST INVESTMENT, RING IS ALSO JUNK AFTER 2YEARS...GOING WITH WYZE
This is one of the best videos of all times I love that at the end that was adorable, That was some good information you put out chief
Great videos and very interesting. I love your channel, greetings from Spain ✌🏻🇪🇸
Thanks Jorge! Stay safe over there in Spain!
Exactly how reviews should be ! Subscribed.
Thanks for this video! But can you do a video on non-wired doorbells? I live in an apartment...
I appreciate it! Yes I will be doing a video soon specifically for apartments and I will give some options for that. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@SmartHomeSolver ok great, just subscribed last week & will be looking forward to it!
Great collection, that's probably the best doorbells list out there! The only 1 missing is probably the Ring POE, which is way overprice. GOOD WORK!
Thanks!
I wish you had received the Eufy Wired version
I sold my Ring Pro and will buy the Eufy Wired
Hope the wired gets HomeKit them it will be the best!!!
Not talked about in this video, but the Eufy wireless can also be hardwired, which will keep the battery topped up. Honestly no reason as a result to buy the wired version.
You really did a lot of comparison, thank you for the hard work! Eufy sounds like the one for me.
Most of the vendors reviewed offer some sort of replacement warranty if the doorbell is stolen.
