Great Video! Just finished the trail and I wish I saw your video before hand. This video is really helpful to see what the terrain and conditions are like.

You got smashed with the weather. Still beautiful. Did this hike and fimmvörðuháls hike in 2021. We had a whiteout and brutal sun. Still had a blast.

Just did the same hike in early August. We did get lucky and had little wind. Congratulations on filming in such bad conditions. Do yourself a favour and use walking poles so you can keep hiking into the future. They also help on creek crossings. Just wondering what you were carrying in those bags? You seem to have a lot of equipment with you since you were not using a tent.

I do usually use hiking poles when crossing major rivers. (See my Baffin Island film for examples.) The backpacks were packed with food for 6 days (we were also supposed to do the Fimmvörðuháls Trail), drone, filming equipment, and we took a lot of my son's stuff so that his bag wasn't too heavy.
