Excellent informative video Niall and Lisa! One day I hope to visit Iceland. The hot springs and volcano hike look like fun! ❤

Hi, thanks for commenting. Iceland is a truly unique place. Everywhere smells of sulphur, eggs, for example. The ground bubbles and smokes. It is also the most expensive place I've visited. Camping made it affordable and was a great way to see the nature.

@@tubbatravels Thank you for the advice. I've heard it is very expensive. My wife won't camp so we will save up and visit at some point. As you said, it seems like a very unique place!

Crikey Niall, that was spectacular! It looked real cold even in August! There were times it looked as if you were walking through Mordor with all that steam. The scenery was crazy. And I was very impressed with your pronunciation of the place names! Probably took you all the time since you visited to practise the narration! 😂 Job well done and drone footage was cool!

Hi Iain. Well I've been slated for my Scottish pronunciations and accent , all in good humour and quite rightly so, I thought I should put some effort into the place names. I did ok but if it's all wrong I'm blaming the Google translate voice.
The distances on his hike are short but it gives you time to film and take coffee breaks. Nice one Iain, get training for your cwt.

Hi Niall, Hi Lisa, absolutely amazing, what a place Iceland is, a landscape total unlike anything in this country. I bet it can be brutal hiking at times. That section going up the gorge was spectacular. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us as always. All the ver6 best, Dave🥾⛰🇮🇸

Cheers Dave. It's a beautiful day here, are you off out on the hills?
The daily distances on this hike are quite short so not too tough and also allows lots of time for filming and gawping I amazement. Happy Sunday.

    Well done of you.🏔💪💪
I watched it all while making soup.😁
    That was some hike!
The memorials there remind you to be careful.
    Great spots you pitch at.
Nice you could stop a few times and enjoy a refreshing beer.
Cold water on your feet, looked tough. Crazy seeing snow and a few feet away the ground steaming. That little mobile shop van thing must make a fortune.
Good job they have the railings and chain as your walked above the river at the end. The ice hanging over like a roof looked magical.
    Brilliant drone footage.
    You both smashed it!💪💪
    Alltrails is brilliant.
I'm interested in how much those cans cost? 😁
    Great vid.👌👏👏

Hi Jamie. The cans of beer were about a fiver but only 2.5 % due to Icelandic alcohol restrictions.
Yes I think the maddest thing is seeing the snow next to boiling fumaroles.
The tent pitches were all interesting spots and we slept well, probably knackered at the end of each day.
Planning this trip was a bit of an effort as well but worth it.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.

      Awesome memories. 👌
The beers would have broke my heart😁
      I would paid it though.
I'm a cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons man.
      Any hikes planned?

@@JamieHarding5pringles were £9 a box. I've never wanted a Pringle so much in all my life.
Last week we walked around the isle of wight and in may all being well we will walk the isle of Arran coastal path.
I've still got to make isle of Skye videos yet. Today I spent it clearing thru my garage with a tip run booked for the morning.
      No work tomorrow, yes. !

Our plan is to hike from Landmannalaugar to Alfavatan but after watching this, I'm thinking we should break this up and camp at Hrafntinnusker on day one instead of making camp at Landmannaluagar on our arrival day. I'd love to hear others' opinions of the Landmannalaugar to Alfavatan route, just looks like it's a little long to do in one day and not be exhausted.

    • @tubbatravels
      @tubbatravels  8 місяців тому +1

It is possible to walk this trail in 2 or 3 days as the distances are short. If you arrive at landmannalaugar off the first bus from Reykjavik you could make alftavatn. We took the 1 pm bus from Reykjavik with the intention of enjoying the hot pools at landmannalaugar which is a great experience.
Our thinking was to stop at each campsite so we could take our time. we had plenty of time at each campsite to sit and take it all in but definitely it can be done in less time.
All depends how many days you have.
