- In this balance wheel is a damaged hairspring. See how I’m changing it. This is part 2, an episode about three junk movements from which I’m going to make one that is working and make from it a START wristwatch.

Nice job! I like eastern block watches as you can repair them with anything you have. They are built to last.
While changing a hair spring I would only check a beat rate of the donor movement if it is the same value.
Thanks. It is so indeed, and thanks for advice 👍
Thanks for posting these videos!
You're welcome 🙂
Delicate job, not an easy job to do. An interesting video, thank you for sharing! Stay Safe!
Thanks, I really appreciate it 😀
Thanks for the video. Love the channel and this video was fun to watch. Thanks.
Thanks, I really appreciate it 😀
I've been tempted several times to do the same thing, as I have balances with broken pivots and good hair springs and viceversa, and changing staffs are much more complicated and needs specific tools that I don't have. But I've always been said that it can't be done, as every hair spring is vibrated for a specific balance, so they are not interchangeable. I hope yours are!!!
Could be it is so but I'm not going to win some accuracy competition with this one 😀
Very helpful!!!
I'm really glad to hear that 👍
I would suggest using a pair of (rocking) hand levers to remove the collet from the balance staff. It would be a lot safer as you don't risk slipping the screwdriver into the hairspring.
Good idea! Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it
Nice!
Thanks, I really appreciate it
Bravo 🎉
The pleasure is mine @trustapex4878!

great!!!
Thanks 😊
Hi, I would like to thank you for Collector book I won recently. Received with thanks
Any chance could you do short video about replacing hands? On your tutorials all looks so easy, But for me it is not as I damaged few hands already.
One more thing, did you ever managed to fix broken pin on dial?
Thank you, I'm glad that you like it can be done, maybe next moth 👍
I wonder, is it possible to swap out the hairspring in an ETA 2892 with a silicon one from one of their modern longines movements?
Rather not, the movement caliber have to be the same
@@tickingWATCH thank you! That makes a lot of sense
I guess the watch will run much too fast or too slow with the new hairspring, because it's not suited for the different mass of the balance system. If not, it's pure luck.
Probably you right, but let see how it will end. Just in case I have a spare movement which can go to this case 😀
😀
Where we can get hair spring
Mostly together with the balance on eBay
I was under the impression that hairsprings weren’t interchangeable amongst balance wheels.
have to be the same model / movement type
Cenny materiał na twoim kanale 🙂 dzięki twoim poradnikom, zegarek po moim pradziadku dostał nowe życie. Восток 17 камней Сделано В СССР 🙂 musiałem dokonać korekty tarczy zegarka, ponieważ sekundnik ocierał o nią, a i w dodatku wskazówka minut była wypadnięta z mechanizmu.
Leci subik i łapka 🙂
I will take bend hair spring perfectly I am also a mechanical watches take any repairs stilnow thanking you
You're welcome manohar s manohar s 😀
Did you just take a hairspring from one balance wheel and install it onto another?
Yes but the sam movement /caliber type, with a different hairspring it will not work
@@tickingWATCH But hairsprings are mated with a specific balance. Youre not supposed take a hairspring off one balance and put it on another even if its the same caliber.
I've only been doing this a couple years and even I know that.
Do you sell?
no but check only link in the description down below
Wery gut inglisz XD
😀
🙂
Takie coś mój tatuś robił ponad 30 lat temu i się . . . . Bez zbędnego gadania i tych komentarzy.
😀
did finally start working or not? i doubt it. :)
It is here ua-cam.com/video/SQA4LDlh-c0/v-deo.html but is not very accurate 😀
