Thank you for bringing attention to this part of Australia's history. I don't think many people today realise how far back Australia's heritage with naval aviation actually. To every person who worked to keep the carriers and their airwings flying we thank you for your service. I'll remember to pick up a copy, it sounds an interesting read.
It was a real buzz working on Melbourne's flight deck as a 17 year old AVN.
I was a US avionics tech in the late 1960's so always nice to see info on A4 Skyhawks.
My Dad worked on A4's in the US Navy during Vietnam. Served on the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga.

Definitely be buying this book as first model jet was A4 skyhawk.
Wish we still had a carrier & fixed wing aircraft!!!
Best aircraft the RAN ever had
I was lucky to fly with
Peter during his time with Ansett - a very pleasant and competent gent indeed.
Thanks Rod. it was great flying with you too.
My Dad was a WWII Canadian army vet. He called those caps "piss cutters".
did Mr Peter Greenfield train on the BAC Strikemaster before progressing on to the Skyhawk?
No Australia used the AerMachhi 326H as the Adanced Trainer. Both the RAAF and the RAN used it as the lead in trainer to fighters.
My cousin flew A4 Skyhawk, his is Mark Boast
He is listed in our book.
I'm not in Australia, but am thinking this would be a great book to buy for someone who is.
Where can we buy it? (sorry if it's a stupid question...)
should be able to find it on Amazon
Definitely going to buy it, my first model jet was a Skyhawk, I have built RAN Skyhawk too, just got to build Tracker n Westland Wessex n Sea King.
Same name as my Grandfather.
