Your dad has good taste! My dad always had a truck, growing up. F-100, F-150s and a Chevy. I turned him onto the Sport Trac platform. Independent rear makes for a comfy ride.
I ordered it, painted, back in 2007. I don't think they make them any more. But I found my old digital receipt and I got it from customautotrim.com with part number HS003 / Universal Hood Scoop for $279, painted Orange Frost. It had come with a template to drill holes in the hood to mount it.
Did your truck have a clearcoat finish on the original paint job. I have a 2007 ford explorer ironman it's black with a clearcoat finish and I would like to buff out the streaks and swirls. I was told not to do this as it would ruin the clearcoat finish. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you for your time.
Yes, it has a clear coat. This is a clear coat of paint about 3 mils thick. You can burn thru it if you're not careful. The products I use prevent that. I recommend searching other info on the web or UA-cam on the risks of buffing before getting started.
Paint correction!! Let’s goooooooooo!
Looks awesome pat!!
Thanks!
You put some miles on it!! Reminds me of how my dad loves a F-150

May I ask where you got the hood scoop? Or is it actually stock??

Thank you! Yes, very expensive to do a full paint correction, near Baltimore. Lots of labor.
@@PatsGarageOnline It's expensive anywhere, well done, super informative!
