Someone said "after 4-5 days it doesn't matter(brand name) you own a motorcycle from Yamaha, Bajaj, ktm or Honda or even Kawasaki etc.. The thing that matters is, is it giving the same fun and happiness like before. *That's what we need right*
This just got me in tears! I have been researching for the correct bike since many months.. but truly said that I could have used those months in riding than just waiting to make a decision ♥️♥️ load of love and thank you. Shubhabrata you have been lovely, you are not only about reviews and stuff but also life talks. Thank you so much
Its been 3 months...3 moths before I went to our flat in kolkata by pulsar 180.i was happy with it...240km one way...would do it every week for a year...one day I rode a z650 of a bhaiya and I loved the bike and when I returned while on the highway I stopped 3-4 times thinking about just different bike and the urge for it..normally I dont do more than a stop for 5 mins...now I was panicking for 3 months which bike to buy as now the 180 does not suffice my hunger...anddddd this video helped me to get some idea and it quenched the thirst of my question....kudos to powerdrift and shumi sir...love from west bengal
Absolutely golden words shumi bro..nothing will be accomplished until we stop worrying, when it comes to owning a motorcycle, its very important to experience the bike thoroughly, the good and bad of the machine is always on the cards... only then we get to explore the pros and cons of that particular vehicle, always think possitive and your mind and soul will be ready to go ahead to achieve your dream of buying a better motorcycle in future.... Life is all about the magical blend of happiness and sadness, once you overcome your mistakes or worries, only then we get to experience ultimate satisfaction ..your spontaneity in your speech and sharp thinking is exemplary..having achieved the pinnacle in your career and yet you are grounded is the whole mark of a gentleman to the highest order..god bless you in your future endeavours shumi bro...🙏
Good analogy but I differ on the following Why should one choose a wrong bike when one has plenty of choices and guys like you provide all the pros and cons. Gone are the days when we only had RE, Jawa, & Rajdoot. My dad bought a Rajdoot in 1974 and we replaced with RX 100 in 1986 . After evaluating all the pros/cons of all bikes ie Hero Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki , I chose RX 100 although my dad wanted me to buy Yamaha RD 350 . Was happy with RX100 riding for over 13 years which was stolen. Got a Pulsar 150 whose quality was not to my expectations and after it was stolen got a Honda Unicorn thinking it to be a right bike but I lost my interest since it lacked the thrills of RX. Post marriage rode a Kinetic Honda which was replaced with Activa which I still enjoy to ride . 4 years back I got a Suzuki Gixxer for my son which rekindled the fond memories of RX thrills but I dislike it's rear set footpegs and the scooped seat. Frankly i am still looking forward for a bike which can offer me : Better seating posture with flatter seat and comfortable ergonomics like RE classic. Weight within 145 kgs 250 cc twin cylinder Around 20 BHP Upside down forks Seat height around 765 MM Neo retro look design Mileage around 45 kmpl Strong headlights Pillion seat should offer seating comfort for lady Foot pegs should be ideally placed Ground clearance not less than 167 mm Probably, i may not find a bike offering me all the above 😆 Shumi, I dont
6:10- I confirm what shumi is saying. Planning on buying a used bike since Mar 20th 2020 and today is Feb 27th 2021, it's close to a year and I haven't bought one yet. I live in another city and the bike is meant to be used in my Hometown. Reasons - Avenger nahi bullet, bullet nahi rs200, etc Bike kharaab mil jayega, Mai wapas bahar chala jaunga, Thora patience rakh leta hai badiya bike milega toh lamba time tak rakhenge. And there were many reasons which stopped me and I had to ask for help regularly from friends and family. Hell even the money came twice for the bike and vanished in day to day non sense or important purchases. For last 1 year I am sitting without a bike in my home, nowhere to go.
Awesome! I did the same thing after graduation. Bought a pulsar and rode it like Hell!! Now after a few years I know I can handle big bikes, not the litre class but atleast 300cc.
I came here to hear about motorcycles but i heard much more than that, much more than just motorcycles... I recently stumbled upon this channel and damn, it's awesome.
So well said!! i was worried that I may end of making a mistake if I buy a bike. The thing is we just have to have fun with it once you make a purchase.
there is something truely inspiring everytime shumi sir talks about a topic....its grabs your attention, it gets you focussed and truely makes you think n imagine that feeling .Spell binding stuff
The riding community and specially the more experienced riders are often the most clear headed sane people I meet. I'm 21 and riding and meeting riders of different age and economic backgrounds has made me more mature than anything.
One podcast from PD that resonated with me the most.. had experienced all the talking points with My old pulsar 150 that I loved so much.. not getting a proper upgrade over that still..and still trying to understand and learn what went wrong over my current bike and pulsar
This video. is the best motivation video than any professional. simple, clear, efficient. It's more than a bike buying guide. Good work. No words to describe how good this video is
To leave stress I feel petrol and go for big ride without planning and those rides are memorable. Even all of my 100 cc bikes and scooters satisfied my bikeing pleasure .Just be passionate
Guruve Saranam. Rightly said Shumi guru, I don't want to waste time in decision fatigue. I just came out of such fatigue of selling jawa42. It's not the bike to satisfy my soul... I made mistakes and i definitely know there is calm beach down south waiting to be explored. Thanks again
TOMMOROW WILL BE MY 5th DAY OF MBA 3rd SEMESTER EXAM AND I JUST FINISHED THIS VIDEO...SHUMI SIR YOU TAUGHT ME ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON OF MY LIFE...THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH
Somehow, these podcasts literally help by addressing some personal issues that I'd have earlier in the day... Couldn't thank you enough! 🙌🔥 If only the fuel prices weren't always rising...
After 10 years I still look back at my motorcycle in awe after parking. And every time I ride it still feels like the first time. I'm sure I got the absolute right one for me.
Do you have a problem? -No Then why worry? Do you have a problem? -Yes Can you do something about it? -No Then why worry? Do you have a problem? -Yes Can you do something about it? -Yes Then why worry?
Oh goodness! You haven't an idea HOW relevant and much much needed this was for someone like me at this juncture in life. For the last 3 years I have only mentally toyed with the idea of a bike for myself but esp in the last few months, I have been getting torn mentally between options without being able to make up my mind. I have even had dreams of the bikes am crazy about from over thinking. However, I have set myself a deadline of June'21 to book a bike. I am 37 and have like forever now been on an Activa only and now I am deciding to go for a 600 + CC ride. Have booked the Trident but leaning more towards the Street Twin from the pillion seat and slight touring perspective(added more ambiguity here with the intro if the 2021 Bonneville line up from which am absolutely smitten by the Street Twin gold line but then again the cost comes to my mind) but at the same time leaning also towards Triple R from the road presence and design perspective. You see what I mean? I am the classic example who you must have aimed a video like this at. I guess this talk from you has solved it completely for me :) Well almost I think! :) :(
I really love when we are not limited to a small topic like "How to select a bike?" and other bla blas. Here we talk about life and look at the bigger picture.
This is an amazing topic you shared and made me feel at ease about life! Thanks a lot. I also made a mistake 3 years back by purchasing a 100cc bike which was easy on pocket but had punctures almost every week. That mistake taught me a lesson to look for a bike with tubeless tyres and CBS/ABS so that I and my family can be a bit tension free!
Wow I totally agree.. I'm 22 working my first job and I was so worried about spending any money as I wanted to save for the street triple r but I just took a deep breath and got an r15 for now and I'm enjoying it a lot. Yes it will take me longer to get the triple but I'm happy now and the time will come when it comes!
My mother approves this message. Especially these bits - "Stop worrying" and "Its OK to waste your money a littlebit here and there". OK, back to worrying about the Triple R's stick price in Bengaluru. Cheers.
Great take on rather difficult topic(s) which still doesn't have enough theories and papers written about it, and even greater minds haven't figured it out. To name a few, 'Time', 'Money', 'Stress', 'Decisions', 'Life' and 'Motorcycles', Sadly, humans don't act like machines, and no aspects of it's functions can be but in User Manuals. But I have figured out this much for sure: The time you'd give to ride a motorcycle you'd want to spend your money on, is definitely going to take away stress, and will perhaps be the best decision in life. Just ride on, ride a lot, and ride safe.
I am going to forward this video to friends who don't know the first thing about bikes. Its because this video tells us something that is way beyond purchasing motorcycles, something about life! Hats-off @PowerDrift for coming up with this content and a salute to the man himself, @shumi, for delivering it in a way as if we needed (rather than wanted) to hear this! Thank You for being this awesome!
I was late on this video but glad that I saw it anyhow. A minute or so in the video I just forgot that it was about bikes. You gave a lesson about life in general in possibly the simplest words. Thank you.
Exactly what i wanted to hear. Having second thought's after buying apache rr310, but it's growing on me now and i know what to buy next. learn from your mistakes aye!
I have been confused about which motorcycle to buy and wasted time b4 seeing this video After seeing this video today I booked my duke390 Thank you so much shumiii❤❤

Shumi ji, I don't usually follow motor journalists, but watching your videos and following your Instagram page brings immense pleasure. You are definitely one of the best motorcycle journalists, but you probably know that already.

Hey #PDArmy, did this take away your woes? Let us know below, and Share this with a friend who needs to watch this!
I m afraid of increasing petrol prices for buying motorcycles
Hey tvs apache rr310 or gixer 250. ?
cb350rs vs hness better option
Shumi -you are gem of a person, those words are diamonds ,used very well in context to motorycling,Good Job and God Bless.
Well done, very good piece of containt and it is very helpful..
Golden words by prof. Shumi , honestly one of the best video without a single motor around.
Oooh wee!
This 9 minute podcast motivated me to leave UA-cam and prepare for my certification exam.
All the best Apurv!
Remember, education is important!
Dont leave PD😄😄
Ppppp
Ha ha

This video isn't just for bikes, this is for life itself🙏🏼❤️
Absolutely!
It was all because of their experience throughout their life journey!♥️♥️
I came here for bikes, wasted 5 mins of my life.
Seeing the hikes in petrol prices u should start recommending HERO SPLENDOR+
Bajal platina or ct 100
Or bicycle
You making this comment just defeats the purpose and efforts they put in this video. Watch the video again
If EV bikes get better we can forget about petrol costs.

More practical than a sandeep maheshwari motivation video.. shumi you're great!
Hahaha! Appreciate that compliment, Chirag!
Indeed man.
In these 9 minutes shumi gave us very important lessons of life...👍🔥
True that!
Professor Shumi from the Dept of Psychology in PowerDrift Institute of Automobiles... 🤪
🤣🤣
Actually HOD shumi!
Someone said "after 4-5 days it doesn't matter(brand name) you own a motorcycle from Yamaha, Bajaj, ktm or Honda or even Kawasaki etc..
The thing that matters is, is it giving the same fun and happiness like before.
*That's what we need right*
So basically what Shumi is saying is, buy whatever bike fits your budget right now. I repeat, RIGHT NOW. And go rip it like Rossi. No time to waste.
Hhahaha! Not that extreme, but ride it!
@@powerdriftofficial 😅😂
Damn! I had no idea I needed to hear this today. And no, I wasn't talking about motorcycles!. Thanks Shumi & PD
We are glad this helped, Gopikrishnan!
what Shumi explained was exactly me 2 yrs back, gradually things changed and so do I.
Yay!
This just got me in tears! I have been researching for the correct bike since many months.. but truly said that I could have used those months in riding than just waiting to make a decision

7 months later and don't know how many times I've watched this podcast but it's always fresh.

How did I miss it two years also!! What a gem.
Thank thanks thanks.... At age of 24 I've been wondering to get an interceptor or a Himalayan. I have made up my mind now.

Good job shumi.....🔆
Always buy stuffs for our needs, not for society & Consider practicality like cost, usage, mileage, maintenance, etc
Dude. How amazing can this get 🙌
“Focused on finding a solution, which is a very different state of mind”. Key takeaway, numero uno!
