the wear and tear on the seatbelt and bolsters suggests much higher mileage, especially as a rental where people like to get their moneys worth and drive it as much as they can.
I mean rollbacks are super easy these days, but you'd think someone would wait till right before selling to drop that bomb. 35,000 miles is a lot for a Ferrari seat and that seat belt flopping around is likely responsible for the bolster damage. Personally I think it's just a front end hit that wasn't properly repaired and a lot of city life damage. That airbag stitching, gauge hood jankiness, and gorked up seat belt tensioner is pretty indicative of a deployment. Good work by Detective Ferretti.
I’m not sure what’s going on here. Rob’s words > “looks reasonably like a Ferrari”, “I have slightly better standards”, “not a terrible use of money”, “I would pay another $100 for delivery”, “I’m up in the air whether this car was in a accident”. Interesting breakdown. Did you need the car for anything specific or you just wanted to check out the competition? I have no idea about whether it's good value because I don't rent Ferraris 🙈
Turo is weird when it comes to pricing. You've either got exotics where the rental fee can't be covering the true cost of ownership, and you've got basic pedestrian cars that are asking a lot more than you could rent a new one for at a rental agencies.

Protection plans are mandated by Turo, not the Host. Host's can set the mileage, but they have to pay Turo a cut for any overages. So the host gets X% of what the daily rate was and that same percentage for any miles over the trip limit. Everything else goes in Turo's pocket unless you paid for an "Extra". Its entirely possible that the host only earned $330 of the $762 you paid.

I know Rob is an exotic car critic, but how many people in the United States actually drive exotic cars. Someone renting a vehicle in the video glad to be driving something "exotic"
I am really having a hard time to believe that car really does just have 32K miles because the wear and tear on the driver's seat doesn't match the mileage. Thoughts anyone?
I have seen those high side seat bolsters worn through in 10,000 kms on 2000 model year and up Aston Martins and Ferrari's, usually caused by owners that wear denim jeans and do frequent short journeys . As a contrast the leather drivers seat bolster n my wifes 2015 Honda with 150,000 kms on it looks great despite the two of us driving it in jeans most of the time . .
There was a Porsche 911 on Turo in London for £190 a day, the car was so fucked every time you did a hard launch it’ll go into limp mode lmao had to turn it off and turn it on again. No complaints though it did what I wanted it to do lol
Pretty much what I expected of a $500 Ferrari. Still more than I can afford. I'd say if it was 500 flat I'd do it, the fees make it kind of a waste though.
I think Turo should put privacy screens on the fence. You picked up a Ferrari from a space where you can see bags of garbage piled up with flies buzzing all over them. Ick! The cosmetic issues and the seatbelt being obvious signs of a front end collision on a rental at a $763 per day all-in is a no-go for me. we dont have turo in the UK, we have hiyacar it's known for being quite overpriced. It rented out by their owner - usually they're renting out their pride and joy and they put a really high price on it. If you compare it to commercial rental companies - their prices are actually high in comparison and the wear and tear on them is unacceptable. Commercial rental companies will not give you a vehicle with defects and "to do" maintenance work on them. It would be straight up illegal to rent that vehicle with the faulty seatbelt, in a collision it's not going to offer any support what so ever.

It’s the insurance companies that are really the thieves. If this car gets rented 30x/year (probably low) the minimum 100$ fee (while the customer has valid exotic ins & rental ins, so it’s probably more for others) nets the insurance 3$K, owner’s insurance is probably double, so the ins co is getting 10$/K a year on a car that probably total’s at 25$K and obviously isn’t being used to fix-minor , but obviously noticeable-customer accidents (although to be fair, it’s possible the ins did pay out and owner just pocketed the $).

Personally I think it's just a front end hit that wasn't properly repaired and a lot of city life damage. That airbag stitching, gauge hood jankiness, and gorked up seat belt tensioner is pretty indicative of a deployment. Good work by Detective Ferretti.
To the person renting this to Rob...... he went easy. Trust me.
Just being objective.
When will we get an update on the evo?
Rob is trying to get rid of his competition. And btw I have no seen you using the cowboy hat anymore. Good you listened to your viewers.
Rob rates another chef’s meatball recipe
Do you need some phonebooks to sit on Rob? You can barely see over the dash!
😂🤣
That Ferrari deserves better
The trash laden yard next to where he parks the car sums up Jersey City nicely.
I love how I can double click to perfectly fast forward through the intro
Why refill it with 93? I'd be putting 87 in that shit and let the next guy deal with the ECU pulling timing.
I’m not sure what’s going on here. Rob’s words > “looks reasonably like a Ferrari”, “I have slightly better standards”, “not a terrible use of money”, “I would pay another $100 for delivery”, “I’m up in the air whether this car was in a accident”. What a salesman for your company when most of your cars have been in accidents and you rent them as well.
how does a car this expensive fall apart so fast
Because its expensive to maintain
never designed to be a rental car lol
It’s a 12 year old Italian car that wasn’t well maintained
...exactly as designed...
The PS button is a shortened abbreviation for P.O.S. Press the button three times it activates the ejector seat and self destruct. The best spec option that could have been offered for these cars.
California = Maserati GT
Holy crap congrats on 800k!!! it seemed like we were in the 700s forever 😭😭
This was a good way for Rob to cover his ass by videoing/documenting his whole experience less likely to get sued for “damages” that were already there
??? comparing ur luxury rental company to a standard rental car service that so happens to allow any range of vehicles is by far the most reaching we've seen u pull
Interesting breakdown. Did you need the car for anything specific or you just wanted to check out the competition?
I have no idea about whether it's good value because I don't rent Ferraris 🙈
“I rented a lambo for significantly cheaper than what I’m renting them out for, so I’m going to bash every aspect I can find on it”.
Turo is weird when it comes to pricing. You've either got exotics where the rental fee can't be covering the true cost of ownership, and you've got basic pedestrian cars that are asking a lot more than you could rent a new one for at a rental agencies.
10:45 92P a litre for the UK guys! WOW!!!! So.. going the other way... in Gallons USD, we pay $9.04 per gallon in the UK! Rob man. .. you have it easy.
Today, Mr Spagetti explains why Chef Boyardee is not as good quality as Olive Garden
Rob: "This would prevent me from renting a car"
Exhibit A: *The car is equipped with seatbelts*
who better to comment on a renting a Ferrari than Rob ?? He's the perfect resource !
Just rented a 2019 Mclaren 570S for $600 on Turo. Car looked brand new.

Today, Mr. spaghetti shows us what a meatball looks like when it goes bad
Well said Henry
@@shouldigetit thanks
Mr. Spaghetti burns up $500 on a spicy Italian meatball. He was left with incurable heartburn afterwards.
Its entirely possible that the host only earned $330 of the $762 you paid.
thanks for teaching us young bloods i mean bucks how to spot the little stuff. cleaning the seat belt of all the unseen oils then lubing it will help too
How short are you Rob? 4ft9? Looks like you’re struggling to look over the dashboard!
Moral of the story, don’t rent from Turo only rent from Mr.Spaghetti.
I don't know, I thought it was fair feedback on the condition of the car....I definitely wouldn't call it "roasting." I think of "roasting" as making fun of it...which he wasn't doing at all.
You should have showed the quirks and features
I know Rob is an exotic car critic, but how many people in the United States actually drive exotic cars. Someone renting a vehicle in the video glad to be driving something "exotic"
$762 per day for an old California... Heck No. 👎🏽
I am really having a hard time to believe that car really does just have 32K miles because the wear and tear on the driver's seat doesn't match the mileage. Thoughts anyone?
Rolled back miles
What I get from these videos is that my car with 130,000 miles holds better than luxury sports cars at 30k.
Nothing will ever beat the $70/day NC Miata I yeeted for a week around Colorado like an amateur rally driver.
If I’m renting an exotic, I’m going with one that wasn’t so “well used”. Perhaps something from Gotham, you follow?
Today Mr. Spaghetti spends $762 to rent a Ferrari that he features in a video that will make him more than $762. That takes some big meatballs.
As much as I hate when businesses nickel and dime you, hate it more when they $50-$100 dollar you ,,,,,$550 a day for only $750 !
yeah what is "trip fee"?
@@huzcer Its all in pages 7 and 8 of the rental agreement under also covered under the directory of page 1, " these are minimum fees, subject to change "
Will ferretti do a honest review on royalty exotic rental?
It will be content.
I haven't watched a video in a long time but it's cool to see that the Mr Spaghetti jokes are still a thing
Today rob spaghetti shows us why your seat belts shouldn’t be as loose as spaghetti noodles
Man, this guy is something else. Rents a cheap old ferrari just to bash on it
Today Rob gives us a crash course in distracted driving.
$4.41 a gallon for premium? It’s not even June! This is going to be an expensive summer in the north east for car people
So funny, I’ve actually seen that car on Turo. 😂🤦🏻♂️
“You want a safe car which I think this is” he says with a non retracting seatbelt 😂😂
when the seatbelts are locked out that usually means there might have been an airbag deployment
$500 is a deal for average consumer to drive a Ferrari, and check that off the bucket list.
12:04 Almost shat myself. Suddenly my walls were shaking lol
I wouldn't tell Mr Spaghetti I was a huge fan if I was renting him a lemon. I would hate to see what the guy rents to people he hasn't heard of.
we dont have turo in the UK, we have hiyacar it's known for being quite overpriced.
Ive been to miani a couple of times. Im from europe btw
Rental company's tried to rip me off with the insurance
For a mustang convertible( ecoboost) the total costs for 3 days was 700$
On turro i got it for 450 in the end
Do these cars have a DCT? I wasn't big on them when the California first came out but they're actually pretty good looking. The NA V8 probably sounds pretty good too compared to the California "T" that came after it.
I know this is a pretty old comment but, the California has a dct. I believe it's pretty similar to the gearbox that they put in the 458 italia, but I could be wrong about that.
@X-RAY Gotcha. I wasnt sure if it had a single clutch/torque converter auto or DCT but that makes sense. Car would've been fantastic if it came in a 6 speed gated manual but Ferrari is clearly done putting manuals in anything
@@L8-APEX Yeah, I think that could've saved the car in the eyes of a lot of people to be honest. But this car was made at the time when nobody wanted a 6 speed anymore and it wasn't nostalgic to have one yet, so they were phased out unfortunately.
would love to see more of these!
I like that you didn’t go easy on his car cause it was a fan that says a lot about your channel 🙌🏽👍🏽 but shit if it wasn’t all the way in jearsy and it had the seat belt fixed I’d rent it lmao there’s no cheap exotic rentals like that down here 😂
The seatbelt won't retract- it was definitely in an accident. Same thing happened to my evo when I crashed it. Seatbelt would not retract afterwards
bet he ran vin number outside of the vid.
I couldn’t see the airbag light come on on start up?
Yoooo Handycam Rob Is BACK Baby
If there's one thing I've learned on UA-cam about used/worn luxury/exotic cars, they are shit when you look at them closely.
Why did you fill it up full if you picked it up empty? :|
That car actually looks really good!
