Turo is a good platform although the business model is not great unless you automate stuff. Make sure you are not attached to the car you are renting else won't be able to sleep at night 😂
I would recommend as I’ve been doing a lot of research on Turo as well. Looking to start at least one car to add to my properties as I do midterm/short term rentals that you can definitely convenience yourself far more than having to have woken up at 6 AM to ready the car for your 8 AM booking by blocking off the car on your calendar and making sure that you would have had it cleaned, and ready for your next booking without being inconvenienced

Thanks for the info. I rented my Rv out for a while and something always was a bit of a pain in the neck. Plus with each rents it’s get more west and tear then you want. Having a specific car just to rent might be better.

My main hang up is where do you park the car for renters to pick up? Obviously I wouldn't want strangers to pick up from my home. But, my airport (IAH) frowns upon Turo and car services so not sure if I can park there for renters to pick up and pay parking fee.
Ride share parking lots or rent spaces from retail stores or office complexes.
I loved your breakdown on Turo side hustle. I also own a Honda HRV. Do you think that making profit is based on the model of the car or the location? I’m curious on your thoughts because I live in West palm and have been thinking about doing Turo.

No, I used a nearby apartment complex. You kind of have to get creative. I've seen some people use their jobs or find a lot that lets you rent a stall.
Hey Mercedes, Loved this video, it was very insightful. I feel you on not liking cars. Turo may not be too bad for some but what got me was the smoke in the car. It is very unpleasant for other renters and yourself as you said. I know you will find something that works better for you! Im considering selling on amazon currently. Still trying to figure it out and still doing amazon influencer at the same time.
Hey! Thank you as always! The smoke in the car was definitely annoying. Thankfully, I bought a bunch of stuff on Amazon to review and use to try to remove the smoke smell. A combination of using a steamer and this air freshener bomb removed the smoke smell completely. Like everything turo is about learning as you go and you just figure it out. But yes, it was very unpleasant. I appreciate your kind words. I think selling on Amazon could be very lucrative for you! I don’t know if that’s the route I want to go just yet but will see. I have some ideas I hope to share soon! Amazon influencer hasn’t been good lately….

Stay away from Turo. Gave me a ban. Guest said I had low tread on my tires. I literally had a tire shop say I had the min 4/32. They didn't care. Since I argued the unlisted all my cars and cancelled all my reservations. I had 5 cars. Not fun

I’m not. The only thing I can recommend is searching UA-cam. I’ve found a lot of helpful information by watching other UA-camrs talk about turo. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I talked to a friend who has several cars on turo. He said you can't prove it even if you smell it , he just gives a lower rating to the guest, BUT he said if he finds a cig butt he takes a picture and file the claim for them to pay

Where are you getting your cars to put on turo?😅
One car is a personal car that I just don't use because I work from home. The other car was a car I had paid off and saved specifically for Turo. You can look for a cash car to buy or start by putting your personal car on when you aren't using it.
What happens when the renter crashes your car and hurts someone? Renting your care definately voids your insurance.
When you rent your car on Turo, Turo provides an insurance policy. If something happens to your car it wouldn't go through your personal insurance. Your personal insurance is only for you when you are driving the vehicle when the vehicle isn't being rented out.
Should have gotten a management company to run it for you. I run many cars for other ppl. 60 40 your way slip

What are some cars I should consider buying to put on the platform
Ok so the host needs to fill the car with gas? Does it have to be returned with the same amount or how does that part works, because on fuel alone goes the profit 😂
You're the host you said it the way you want.
Essentially the more convenient you make it the higher the price.
Conversely the more inconvenient you make it the lower the price should be.
For example you want $300 a day for luxury midsize that you will bring to the customer what's a tank full of gas plus you're allowed them to smoke and you give them candies and mints or unlimited miles and drop off anywhere within 30 me of the pickup
Option two would be the same vehicle whatever gas is in must be at the same point when it comes back no free mi no frills vehicle is $150 a day pick up and drop off is the exact same must be returned clean.
What’s the toll app?
The app is different depending on where you live. You'll have to look up whatever toll system your state uses.

It depends on how much a person's time is worth. Turo doesn't pay for my time, so it's not worth it for me
