Ichang attention to details is amazing. She as foreigner can differentiate that there is something different about Pattani/Kelantanese women. I also feel the same.
The rice dish is usually called, "Nasi Bujang" which literally means Single's Rice. It used to be a budget meal for singles or end of month's before getting salary meals but I eat them all the time because it is so good and cheap! White rice, that special egg, cucumbers, chicken soup and east coast style of belachan as condiment.
The Japanese folks I know here are super fussy with their food, they mainly eat Japanese 99% of the time. Even when I took them to eat local food like curry laksa and wantan mee, they didn't finish what they ordered and said politely that it was nice but they wouldn't eat it often, perhaps only 2x/year. But you eat every mouthful like it's really "oishi"! Makes me want to try it too!
As usual I watch your video without reading the description and I really wouldn't know this place is in KL until you mentioned it at the end of the video. It's so rare and does give me the original vibe of Thai or border of Thai in Malaysia.
iChang & Jimmy さん, instead of mineral water , ask for "ais kosong" (ice water), "air suam" (warm water) , some places don't offer normal water in a bottle!
Yes. Northern Malaysia and Southern Thai people share very similar cuisine due to historical reasons. Just like how the food in the different corners of Thailand are similar to the other countries they border e.g Isaan and Lao cuisine (northeast Thai)
Nasi bujang(bachelor rice).. is the staple food for everyone saving money. Cheapest in the menu. Pretty well balanced too.. Sambal belacan makes all the difference.. Mee Celup! Sedapnya!
I went today at 1pm and the mee celup was out of order. It seems a lot of people went there today and the owner was very apologetic about the situation. It’s seem you make the place famous. Thank you iChang and Jimmy Hansup 😅

The one added into the eggs is Golden Mountain seasoning. One of vital items in ala Thai cooking. Just a few drop will make wonder to your foods. Even its ingredients stated no MSG (for those concerns on this) The fish sauce (normally with the squid 🦑 pic label) is much more distinguish taste.

hi ichang and Jimmy..i noticed you like the white rice with omelet so much ^^.. actually in Malaysia, we have something called 'Nasi Bujang', it is like a 'Budget rice' hahah.. usually a simple dish eaten by university students or single people in order to save money or when they are lazy to cook.. because it is so simple.. Nasi Bujang usually comes with just plain white rice, fried omelet, some cucumber as ulam, and sambal belacan with 'sup kosong' (sup kosong is just soup with no meat). During my time at university, the price is for RM2.00 - RM2.50.. but now in my area right now around RM4.00 - 4.50... Later just in case if you are craving for it, just ask for 'Nasi Bujang'.. :)
