Hi! Thank you for thr great review. I'm considering to do this trip aswell in end of July/August. But I'm concerned it will be very cold. When have you been there? Would you recommend this time of the year you have been?
I’ve been on their southern and northern Spain tours, it was fantastic, best holidays I have been on in my opinion :) I hope to use G adventures again to go to Australia and Canada though they are very expensive tours so probably wait to earn more money before I try and go on them. The tours I went on were fairly small and it felt great with how close you got to people in a short amount of time. I have kept in contact with some people as well, it was amazing! I think my fav places were Granada and the Pyrenees :)
Looking for a USA national parks camping, road trip type. But 40 next year and the only one that G offers, that had camping has 39 age limit. The others tours were hotels, but ill rather camp out in the national parks. Love camping and dislike hotels. I wish they did a road trip to all states and national parks with camping for all ages. I think ill only ever get to visit USA once (money) and i want to see it all.. 😅 Will be doing the alaska hike and kenya safari camp hopefully next year or after. But im debating whether to just book this USA western camping tour, before i turn 40 and miss out seeing the other states i wanted to see or look for another tour...
Hi! I would love to talk with you to see if you found what you were looking for :) I hope you have. A lot of these group travel companies have age limits which I dislike. I’d love to talk with you!
Hi! I was personally on birth control which did not give me my period during the time I was there. But i would recommend pads over tampons & also some people used the diva cup. There are decent toilets & showers in most campsites (1 or 2 drop toilets on the trip, but that’s it). During the day you do spend more time in vehicles with not so many toilet stops, and mainly bushy bushy stops. I’d use night pads, which are okay if you wear them a bit longer than a few hours.
@@travelaimes thanks so much for the super fast reply! Another question I would have regarding the camping: did you also bring the sleeping mat or was it provided? If the latter: how thick/comfortable was it?
@@allfortravel a sleeping pad was provided (about 10cm/3inch thick) and personally found them very comfortable for sleeping pads. Nobody on my tour used additional sleeping pads and slept fine on them. You need to bring your own pillow and sleeping bag however! I recommend a sleeping bag that can handle the negative temperatures at night in certain places during certain times of the year. On day 2-3 of the tour they do usually stop at a shopping centre so you can buy extra things if needed (on the long trip there is also another shop stop) If you ever find it needed there are many places to upgrade to a room for a night to recharge! Usually rooms are around 25-75USD a night/per person
Thanks for making the vid. What was the solo to couples ratio like? I don't mind some couples but sometimes they exceed the amount of sole travellers which can be a bit isolating
Hi, I loved your video! I'm looking to book a trip with G Adventure and had a few questions, if you don't mind answering ☺️ Since everyone is flying in from all over, how do you meet up with everyone at the beginning of the trip? Did you have to book a taxi/accomodation from the airport to a meeting spot? Also, I'm sure it's different for each tour, but how well were the hotels/hostels you stayed at? Thanks!
Hi! We had a welcome meeting on day 1, there is also an app of G (but it doesnt work well, to meet before). We stayed in campsites mostly or some hostels as well which were nice and clean
You can see them a bit in this IG post linked. They are easy to set up tents with 4 poles/corners to pitch in the ground. And it fits 2 mattresses and our luggage (2 big bags) would fit in between the 2 mattresses instagram.com/p/CgABoX2NOx2/

Yes some days are driving days and they are Looong, but people use it to catch up on sleep, chat and have fun. Also some long driving days are safari days so that makes it fun. As for toilet breaks (most of them are bushy bushy breaks, not that many stretching stops)
How cold was it during the night? I’m going to join this trip during the summer holidays, so in July / August. You did it in June right? How did you experience the cold during the nights and during the day?
In may/june some nights it was -5*C and it was coldddd especially in the mornings when breaking down the tents. I’d recommend a thermal top & pants & gloves & hat! And a GOOD sleeping bag that can handle the cold

My boyfriend and I are planning on booking the 21 day G Adventure trip from Victoria Falls through Botswana, Namibia and then down to Cape Town. So some part of your Trip was the same. Your video really helped me to get an overall idea since I wasn't really sure on how much extra costs will come along during the trip. I do have some other questions I'm still kind of uncertain about. How much sleep do you really get on the trip? Does the group have to get up really early every day and around what time are you able to get to your tent and sleep for the night? A friend who did a shorter G Adventure Trip told me his group was having loud partys with lots of drinking almost every night until 1 or 2 in the morning and they had to get up around 5am. Was it also a lot of loud partying and drinking during the nights on your trip? Or can you easily klick yourself out of tje group in the evenings to sometimes also get some quiet time and enough sleep in your tent? Thank you in advance for your answers! :-)
Hi! How exciting 😊 from my experience you can get between 6-8 hours of sleep every night easily. I’d say dinner is usually done by 9pm, and tents are mostly pitched before dinner, so maybe 6pm? (Timing is roughly cuz everything is relevant in Africa hahah) The group did have drinks most nights however you could decide where to pitch your tent, so we came to the consensus with the group that the people who wanted an early night would pitch the tents the furthest from the firepits (where people were drinking). We also tried to be respectful and not play music after midnight, just chatting. As for the mornings, yes early morning are not an exception we had wake up times between 5-7am most nights but this is because you want to take advantage of the daylight to be on safari. I recommend packing at night & in the morning just put on fresh clothes, and get to breakfast with tents down. Hope this answers your questions, just chat with the group about expectations and rules because they should respect privacy and sleep of others. Ps lot’s of people take naps during the long driving hours (but you could miss sightings of animals, although they do usually shout it through the bus if there is a sight you shouldn’t miss!
Thank you very much for your answer, this helps a lot! Since I'm not a drinker at all (well sometimes I like to drink one glass of wine or one beer just to enjoy but that's it haha) and usually need more sleep than others to get through the day, I was kind of afraid the group won't tolerate me not partying and drinking with them or going to bed earlier than everyone else.. Did you also have people in your group that didn't drink and sometimes went to bed early? Where they still integrated into the group like the others or did everyone kind of made them feel left out? I'm sorry for all the questions. This just always is one of my fears when travelling with a group around my age because I know most people like to drink and party when they travel. Just trying to get an idea what the groups main focus was on this trip :)
