- If you are deciding if to travel with G Adventures or Intrepid travel, this comparison review of both adventure travel companies will help you decide which is best for you.
Both small group adventure companies are amazing and I think you'll have a brilliant time regardless of which small group tour you choose. I've travelled with G Adventures and Intrepid travel 11 times now and have no plans to stop!

I just did my first SOLO group trip with EF GoAhead Tours to Venice, Florene and Rome and had the BEST time of my life! I even extended my trip an extra 2 days to visit the Amalfi Coast (Positano) on my own, after my group members departed. I would also highly advise checking their Solo Tours out as there is no supplement charge for their solo tours. Good amount of balanced time with the group as well as free time. I would also check them out. But I may look into doing my next trip with G Adventures or Intrepid as EF GoAhead doesn't currently have any solo trips that I'm interested in.
I’ve done seven trips with intrepid now coming up. And quite honestly most of the only issue appears to be a distance tune from the hotel to where we’re going and sometimes not enough group size. Safety wise it’s good I’m staying with intrepid
I am so excited to find out about these two companies. I have always wanted to travel and especially like guided tours. I have bad legs. I can walk but need to sit often or even take a motorized wheelchair if walking a lot for multiple days. I understand I couldn't do all trips but are there trips you've taken that you've seen somebody in a wheelchair? If so, how annoying was it for the other people in the tour? I would not want to inhibit other's joy. Would you recommend one company over the other when it comes to meeting special needs?

I had G Adventures for my Peru last 2019. Cant complain...However this after pandemic it seems to me both are overpriced...
Anyone any idea which is best for families? We're hoping to go with my husband and 11 year old son to Morocco in December. Average temperature about 18 degrees, which is fine by us.
Love your informative review. I had actually never heard of G Adventures. I came here to just learn about Intrepid, but based on this review it would seem that G Adventures wins out against Intrepid in the majority of the categories. Thank you.
G Adventures has its regional offices in the countries you visit. G Adventures SUV take you to the tourist attractions on the itineraries.

They may not exist anymore but i can recommend African Routes for a low budget option that really looks after you and offer great routes. I did South Africa pick up in Pretoria, travel through kruger, the veldt, swaziland (very briefly) Durban and then along the garden route to Cape Town. I could have travelled on with the same bus & guide on their next leg up to Namibia and i wish i'd let them talk me into that but i'd organised my flight home by then and after a year away, home was calling but they were a fantastic pair of guides (a couple doing it together) and i do wish i'd just pushed on another week or so with them.

Thank you for this video Leanne. I am about to make my first solo trip. I'm excited but a bit afraid also. I am going to Germany and Switzerland to visit where my ancestors came from. Do you have advise for a beginner solo traveler? I was thinking for safety to stay at one hotel as a base, then make day trips tot he surrounding areas. But a bus tour might be better?
Hi there. I live in Switzerland and I can tell you that it is very safe here. But of course everywhere something can happen... In Switzerland there is a good transport network so I would recommend that you book a few bases and then go on day trips from there to the surrounding areas ;)

I was on an intrepid trip by myself, and g adventures with someone I knew. I think it all depends on the group. The group is unknown before you go and can have huge effect on your trip. The guide and the destination don’t have as much input on solo’s experience. In general I enjoyed the g adventures trip more but that might not have anything to do with the company.
Both companies care about the world.
Does G Adventures have an options to have your own room? I'm not a roommate type person

I wanted to go on a G Adventure trip but apparently I was too old for your I wanted to do. They offered a similar tour but it cost about £1000 more. Definitely won’t be booking with them at that extra cost.

@@marykay8587 No, the other tour was with with G Adventures but it was more expensive for a shorter trip with less going on, all because I'm over 39!
I have looked at Intrepid and they seem like a good company, reasonably priced with no age restrictions.
The company that i travelled with before was Dragoman who were excellent but it seems like the pandemic has done for them as their website isn't showing anything.
Are the hotel included in the package ? Or how does it work
You can book with or without airfare usually.

However, I need to have the free time to read, go out at night for drinks, and take my moments. I saw the trip suggested by Intrepid and Lonely Planet: Turkey uncovered. Do you think I will like it? No they aren't. Only some of them are; they have the 18 to 30 tours, but they also have tours for older individuals.
I don’t care about supporting worldwide countries honestly. I am a frugal traveler and taking a lot of time to save up for traveling. I probably stay away from the companies which use our money to generously give away to foreign countries. In my minds, when I travel to a country, I already helped out its economy by eating at restaurants, staying in hotels, giving tips to services, drivers, local guides, tour leaders and so forth.
Independent travellers don't do G adventures or Intrepid.They go solo.I have been to 99 countries and do it on my own.Save 1000s.With Internet you don't need a package tour.If you are too lazy to book a bus ticket and a hotel...stay at home.
Or .. you do what you want and let others do what they want? There’s an idea 😁
Not all of us are poor. I don’t mind spending money for the convenience. I already work hard enough to make the money I earn
