"they" never want is to know he had a Ph.D in Social Science. "they" want us to think he was just some ignorant trouble-making thug.

At any given time, he was probably the smartest and most insightful guy in the room. Even during his interview with William Buckley, Jr., he appeared, at least to me, to have the edge in both understanding, ability to communicate and real-world experience concerning the issues they discussed.

It's late night and I am listening to this audio tape of one of the greatest men that ever lived. I wish that I was born during his time and knew him. He was always so calm, so intelligent and so genuine. Huey P Newton! I hope that you are resting well and looking down on us.

So true it is all about the residaivsim , homelessness , Alcohol , and drugs Crack. This is just add that the justice system is practice discrimination every day . I walked into the city and county building wearing my hoodie baring the pictures of MalcomX Huey P. Newton , frederick Dougles ect . anyway it was truely clear to me that the hate for what I was weare ing this one of sevarale hoodies witch One owns , but my point is that that inter hate from the political systemis still in place , I am sure that the Afro american race is not hated because of the color of our skin but simply ; because ,of our belief.

It is amazing that the ten point program established by the Black Panther Party in the 60's is still relevant today! We must teach our history to our youth, parents, adults, and community leaders. In Point (5) it reads: "We want education for our people that exposes the true nature of this decadent American society. We want education that teaches us our true history and our role in the present day society." and Point (7) We want an immediate end to POLICE BRUTALITY and MURDER of Black people. Both are more relevant even today!!! Wow, we are still in the struggle...

Crack set the African American community further away from the revolution that huey called for than the kkk ever could. Crack and the glorification of ignorance, violence, and hypercapitalism through film and hiphop

@@tulayamalavenapi4028 Yup, everyone who reads your words are just going to assume you are FBI rookie. Your critique reads completely tone deaf and full of falsehoods. The way you speak is as a fool. You do not know the thing you speak about nor the ears that might hear it. You are useless. So, good luck with that? Bush did 9/11!

Thanks. I have since read Revolutionary Suicide and revised my thoughts.
      🙏🏻
I went to the university Huey got a degree from at the same time, but didn't have any clue. Must have been some trash in my brain from my totalitarian mother's censoring all TV. Only NBC news blared at the dinner table. The rest of the time she watched her own shows, nothing for us 3 young girls. We got to witness nepalm victims in Vietnam, assassinations, and race riots every night. 🤢

It really makes me angry that as I look back over my High School and College years, this man nor his contribution as a great activist for black people was never once mentioned in the curriculums. I only learned if who he was just recently; so I take responsibility in missing this very key part of my people's history. But I certainly do not let our school systems off the hook (at least in my case) for not even making an introduction concerning Dr. Huey P. Newton and the Black Panther Party Organization. I will endeavor to personally do better educating myself on our important leaders and heritage - Also, I'd be remiss not to mention ( and to agree with so many other women) how charismatic, intelligent and completely handsome this guy was. Dream guy for sure 🙂💜

Something happened to him between 1970 and the time the picture posted was taken. I'm not sure the whole story has ever been told. I think it would be disturbing and painful to know, but necessary.
