Warner Bros. Me: I never saw Batman and Robin.
Nolan: And you'll never have to.
Actually Robin was in the dark knight rises
@@loganpeterjones batman & robin is a movie😒
@@jannesvanurk sadly, yes it is.
😂
I like when people think calling someone a "Nolanite" is a derogatory term. I'm proud to consider myself one. This man is a genius.
I don't get it, why woulden't a Batman fan like the Nolan films? Doesn't make sense.
This Is What Awesome Looks Like what does mcu have to do with it
I really love how he diverted the question from the reaction of seeing Anne Hathaway's outfit to the reaction of her work with the character.
The way Christopher Nolan speaks, I'm reminded of Gordon Murray (who used to design Formula One cars). The way he approaches movies seems to be the same way Gordon Murray approaches cars. Nolan looks at existing ideas, and approaches them in a different, very refreshing way. He has effectively changed the way we percieve different characters, such as the Joker and Bane, the same way Murray has helped change the way F1 cars are designed.
Truly inspirational!
Yes, I'm a Formula One fanatic.
Christopher Nolan is the director that we deserve... and the one we need right now.
So this guy is the genius behind the best superhero movie of all time.
@Itachi Is Invincible what The Dark Knight is better than The Godfather you kidding right? 😂
He is truly the modern day Alfred Hitchcock.
We'll have to see. Nolan is a talented filmmaker in his own right, if anything he's like Spielberg.
@@h.b.smith_writer Spielberg took Hollywood's VFX standard to a whole new level... Nolan's taking practical effects to a whole new level.
I'd say he's our Kubrick!
I honestly enjoyed this movie the most out of the trilogy especially the first time I saw it. I liked batman begins and I loved the dark knight but I thought tdkr was truly amazing
The Dark Knight Rises (2012) 10/10
Batman Begins (2005) 10/10
The Dark Knight (2008) 10/10
Following (1998) 10/10
Dunkirk 2017 11/10
Dark Knight Rises 8/10 Batman Begins 9/10
@@orangewarm1 10/10 for all of them imo but I prefer rises over the others
@@imperfect_dan7519 Agreed.
@@imperfect_dan7519 lmao rises was the worst film i've ever seen and you seriously prefer that crap over the other 2 movies????
Batman: I never got a chance to thank you
Christopher Nolan: And you'll never have too "flys away"
Can't wait for more amazing films from him.
all i have for you is a word TENET
Omar Javaid 😄👍🏽
Oppenheimer is coming! The destroyer of worlds…
Oppenheimer was way too ambitious in a bad way , @@brucetenet6140 hate to break it to y'all✌🏼
This guy is such a class act! A role model. He's sincerely humble and gentelmenlike. Really love the man's movies and it just makes it that much better to see how gracious he is in real life
Such a genius writer/director. So humble and polite and intelligent. This is an example of a true great director.
Such a humble dude I like how he's able to make amazing movies and not have any profanity in them
There is. At least in the last one.
watch following, lots of profanity there.
Dunkirk had profanity and Memento
All of his films have profanity in them. Nolan has cursed in a few interviews as well.
I second this. No questions asked, this will remain the most recognized of all Batman renditions on screen... past, present, and future. Pure genius
Also saw it here in sweden, and after the movie had ended, EVERYONE in the theater clapped! I had never experienced that in a cinema before, not even after the lord of the ring movies! Goosebumps!
Oh yes, and Nolan is absolutely awesome. The guy knows what hes talking about.
At of 2016, 7 out of the 9 films Nolan has made are in IMDb top 250:
4th = The Dark Knight
14th = Inception
33rd = Interstellar
47th = Memento
49th = The Prestige
62nd =The Dark Knight Rises
110th = Batman Begins.
Agree or disagree with the order, this filmmaker has influenced and revolutionized cinema (and science itself). He's carved a niche for himself where he's able to spearhead his own creative decisions without studio restriction or interference. He may not be the best director ever (who is, anyways), but he's certainly a favourite among many (myself included). If he continues in the next decade or 2, Nolan might earn his rightful place atop the crème de la crème
*as of
I like most of Nolan's films, but most of them are very boring and they take far too long to get off the ground. His Batman films are paced too slow except for maybe TDK, and interstellar is imo 30 mins too long.
@@LordMalice6d9 His films run at a pretty tight pace, they show what is needed.
"He may not be the best director ever (who is, anyways)" Robert Bresson and Andrei Tarkovsky are the greatest ever.
Christopher Nolan is the thinking man's Michael Bay! :-)
those two names shouldn't be in the same sentence man
Michael bay? How dare you?
+ankurama Michael bay isn't that bad
James Leran Earth is trolling its people he is...
Best fucking director of all time.
I love Christopher Nolan! At the end when she tells him "it's brilliant and spectacular," he says with his mouth, "Thank You" then with his body, "I know."
He reminds me of Daniel Craig
Gotham is actually a English name meaning homested and their is actually a town in the region of Nottinghamshire named Gotham.
The biggest thing Gotham City has in common with Gotham Engand is that it is always raining.
Should have been nominated for Oscars instead of Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Snow White and the Huntsman
I agree. It’s a fantastic film and it seems to be getting more love as time goes on.
Lincoln and SLP earned those noms.
But yeah TDKR over Huntsman any day
I love how chill he is when he talks about the opening scene. xD Priceless.
CHRISTOPHER NOLAN DID AN AMAZING AND ABSOLUTE WONDERFUL JOB ON THE THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY👏👏👍👍🔥🔥🔥🤩🤩LOVE THE TRILOGY.
a very modest and calm man, simply a genius :)
BRAVO NOLAN I LOVE YOU
You know you're the real thing when you call Joseph Gordon-Levitt "Joe."
i m a comic book fan and i loved what Chris Nolan did with Batman. He brought the character back on his feet and i m very proud of his work on Batman. This guy is a genius.
Thats what makes this guy such an effective, if not great director--he only goes forward with a movie if he feels he's got a coherent story to tell, and from that you can put everything else into place when your as skilled and humble as Nolan is. Can't wait too see what he does after Rises.
not just a phenomenal director, but phenomenal writer as well. A director just follows the orders of the writer, after all.
I would be really scared if Chris did a RomCom
😂😂
What an incredible man, truly one of the best and most inspirational directors of all time.
The way chrsitian bale described the dark night rises, was perfect. "The best way to describe it is, the dark night rises and batman begins combined."
after I saw the Dark Knight 4 years ago I realized how much better it was than any other superhero movies this is the superhero movie you dreamed off as a kid but thought it would never be made thanks Chris for the effort an the amazing movies!
Best director ever!
I can't thank Nolan enough for all the films he has directed, there isn't a film by him that I don't like and The Dark Knight Rises is just absolutely epic, well done Christopher :)
It's so funny how much Nolan can look like DiCaprio in certain stances.
These are really great interviews, good questions!
I will die happy if they make an extended cut of The Dark Knight Rises on blu ray and dvd!
Peter Jackson is the same way when it comes to Lord of the Rings. Humble directors really gain my respect.
director of the century
have learnt how to control thoughts and .influence audience ... .. he have evolved great and so are his characters :: epic nolan ... u have made me understand so much .....lets see...how the darknight rises ..waiting for tomorow !
Oh god, that would be WOW. His visuals in his films are so crisp and his his screen plays are very intellectual... I approve.
TDKR was one of the best comic book interpretations on screen ever filmed....
Christopher Nolan is amazing. He is the reason I'm trying to become a director/producer/screenwriter and it's going we'll so far because of his ideas for movies and the way he makes movies
Inception, The Prestige and Batman Trilogy. Five of the greatest movies ever!
I love how modest he seems.
when i think in: memory, insomnia, magic, justice or dreams....Nolan pops to my mind
Such an amazing Writer/Director
I really was not expecting this. Hes the greatest director ever... speechless
One of the best directors in the history. The Batman trilogy and Inception was just insane!
I absolutely love this man
Christopher gives me Ghoosebumps just by his talk
i figured the pattern in the background and now that is all i can see!!!
what a genius - a truly phenomenal man
Best fucking movie of all times. I cried like ten fucking times emotional. Batman was my first hero when i was a kid brought back memories. I will go watch it at the IMAX and definitely buy it on blu ray the trilogy and watch them one by one again and again.
such an awesome man! he's just a genius i mean... i have no words... btw I really like the interviewer so props to her
I loved The Avengers as well, but this movie, this man...there's just no beating it.
one of the brightest directors today!
Brilliant director
He meticulously researched these films (including reading loads of Batman comics) and then worked with David Goyer on the story as Nolan felt he'd bring a further level of expertise, question = answered!
I've been into Batman since watching the Burton films when I was younger. I found a lot of the Nolan films reminiscent of comic elements but mixed into a realistic world. They all took parts from existing storylines.
BB - Year One + The Man who falls
TDK - The Killing Joke + The Long Halloween
TDKR - No Man's Land + Knightfall + TDKReturns
I would love to follow Nolan around for a day on shoot to see how it is all put together
Noooooooooo! Plz Nolan do more I need them, its a part of me, I feel like empty. Me and more want another movies of Batman!!!
The Man. The Legend.
*flies away
Christopher you are so Amazing This Movie was so Amazing !!!! You are Great and Thanks!!!
20 years later we can tell our kids that we were there to watch this experience
Nolan is a genius, not to mention the fact that every single one of his movies are AWSOME!!!
Yeah, Chris has said many a time that Heat is one of his favourite and most inspiring movies.
Class act.
Stood outside the London premiere mostly to see him (no disrespect to Bale and co.). Hes the best director around imo.
Christopher Nolan is like Michael Mann. I think he (Mann) was one of his influences as a director. They both make great films with great stories and its sad that these two directors dont get the recognition they deserve.
Christopher Nolan is an interesting character, he always wears a suit, even on set, he doesn't have a mobile phone, and he's a relatively quiet man, always speaking softly. His movies are always thought out and are both visually stunning and sophisticated, dark and complex. He pays attention to details and tries to use as little special effects as possible. GODAMNIT WHY COULDN"T MICHEAL BAY BE MORE LIKE HIM!!!
This man defines a new term. MOVIE GENIUS.
I love Nolan so much
Mr. Christopher nolan i appreciate the films that you made for us.
His best work has to be the film 'following' it's actually on youtube in full if you've not seen it
I love Lean's work, especially his earlier films. I understand what you mean with Hitchcock's camera work but also his camera operator invented the reverse tracking shot. I personally hate top 10s and comparing directors, I just enjoy studying and making films. I was just merely responding to someone's comment in which he stated that Chris Nolan was the greatest. Always great chatting about cinema with other movie lovers, cheers!
Cant wait
Chris Nolan better get nominated for an Oscar this year, he is a phenomenal director.
Let's pray for it. He deserved the Oscars for Memento and Inception
Christopher Nolan. YOU ARE AMAZING
he's so modest
LOVE this man. :D
I hope to god this movie will get an extended version I would go trough hell to buy that!!! :D
And can't wait to get the best trilogy on Bluray :D
GENIUS
mr nolan has taken the batman concept to new heights
GENIUS!
I liked the ending very much the last shoot of batman piloting the bat wing with the bomb was so moving and intense , you know the Joker and Harley Queen were suppose to be in this movie so it could be so much different
The Dark Knight Rises got a STANDING OVATION at the first screening! They are already talking about the movie getting Oscars! HAIL NOLAN!!!
Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday To You, Birthday Dear Chris, Happy Birthday, To You!
I agree to a certain extent. It's good to have a different interpretation of a story but it's also good to remember the roots of where it all came from. Also remember that comic books are completely different from cinema. Christopher Nolan's films are in a completely different league from cinema.
this man would do a good job with any movie.
Chris you are a GOD! I admire this man! he is so modest and so creative- the best director ever lived
Handsome, intelligent, humble, refined, inventive and incredibly talented. Christopher Nolan ladies and gentleman.
There is something about the way he talks and furrows his brow that reminds me of Tim Robbins.
This guy is going to be the greatest when it's all said and done.
He could do one if wanted to. Its good when directors branch out into different genres.
Here after Chris Nolan Oscar Award for Best Director 🙌🙌.
