I honestly enjoyed this movie the most out of the trilogy especially the first time I saw it. I liked batman begins and I loved the dark knight but I thought tdkr was truly amazing
The way Christopher Nolan speaks, I'm reminded of Gordon Murray (who used to design Formula One cars). The way he approaches movies seems to be the same way Gordon Murray approaches cars. Nolan looks at existing ideas, and approaches them in a different, very refreshing way. He has effectively changed the way we percieve different characters, such as the Joker and Bane, the same way Murray has helped change the way F1 cars are designed. Truly inspirational! Yes, I'm a Formula One fanatic.
This guy is such a class act! A role model. He's sincerely humble and gentelmenlike. Really love the man's movies and it just makes it that much better to see how gracious he is in real life
At of 2016, 7 out of the 9 films Nolan has made are in IMDb top 250: 4th = The Dark Knight 14th = Inception 33rd = Interstellar 47th = Memento 49th = The Prestige 62nd =The Dark Knight Rises 110th = Batman Begins. Agree or disagree with the order, this filmmaker has influenced and revolutionized cinema (and science itself). He's carved a niche for himself where he's able to spearhead his own creative decisions without studio restriction or interference. He may not be the best director ever (who is, anyways), but he's certainly a favourite among many (myself included). If he continues in the next decade or 2, Nolan might earn his rightful place atop the crème de la crème
I like most of Nolan's films, but most of them are very boring and they take far too long to get off the ground. His Batman films are paced too slow except for maybe TDK, and interstellar is imo 30 mins too long.
Also saw it here in sweden, and after the movie had ended, EVERYONE in the theater clapped! I had never experienced that in a cinema before, not even after the lord of the ring movies! Goosebumps! Oh yes, and Nolan is absolutely awesome. The guy knows what hes talking about.
I love Christopher Nolan! At the end when she tells him "it's brilliant and spectacular," he says with his mouth, "Thank You" then with his body, "I know."
Gotham is actually a English name meaning homested and their is actually a town in the region of Nottinghamshire named Gotham. The biggest thing Gotham City has in common with Gotham Engand is that it is always raining.
i m a comic book fan and i loved what Chris Nolan did with Batman. He brought the character back on his feet and i m very proud of his work on Batman. This guy is a genius.
I can't thank Nolan enough for all the films he has directed, there isn't a film by him that I don't like and The Dark Knight Rises is just absolutely epic, well done Christopher :)
after I saw the Dark Knight 4 years ago I realized how much better it was than any other superhero movies this is the superhero movie you dreamed off as a kid but thought it would never be made thanks Chris for the effort an the amazing movies!
Thats what makes this guy such an effective, if not great director--he only goes forward with a movie if he feels he's got a coherent story to tell, and from that you can put everything else into place when your as skilled and humble as Nolan is. Can't wait too see what he does after Rises.
He meticulously researched these films (including reading loads of Batman comics) and then worked with David Goyer on the story as Nolan felt he'd bring a further level of expertise, question = answered!
I've been into Batman since watching the Burton films when I was younger. I found a lot of the Nolan films reminiscent of comic elements but mixed into a realistic world. They all took parts from existing storylines. BB - Year One + The Man who falls TDK - The Killing Joke + The Long Halloween TDKR - No Man's Land + Knightfall + TDKReturns
Best fucking movie of all times. I cried like ten fucking times emotional. Batman was my first hero when i was a kid brought back memories. I will go watch it at the IMAX and definitely buy it on blu ray the trilogy and watch them one by one again and again.
Christopher Nolan is amazing. He is the reason I'm trying to become a director/producer/screenwriter and it's going we'll so far because of his ideas for movies and the way he makes movies
Christopher Nolan is an interesting character, he always wears a suit, even on set, he doesn't have a mobile phone, and he's a relatively quiet man, always speaking softly. His movies are always thought out and are both visually stunning and sophisticated, dark and complex. He pays attention to details and tries to use as little special effects as possible. GODAMNIT WHY COULDN"T MICHEAL BAY BE MORE LIKE HIM!!!
I liked the ending very much the last shoot of batman piloting the bat wing with the bomb was so moving and intense , you know the Joker and Harley Queen were suppose to be in this movie so it could be so much different
Christopher Nolan is like Michael Mann. I think he (Mann) was one of his influences as a director. They both make great films with great stories and its sad that these two directors dont get the recognition they deserve.
i know this movie is gonna be the best from the dark knight trilogy i know it, first batman begins the the dark knight the inception, as she said nolan continues topping himself man i will cry when the movie ends it's been some amazing years and what a best way to end than to win best picture award from the academy because if this movie doesn't win that award the any superheroe movie will ever do it!! sorry for my english
Have you seen Following? It's a super low budget (in fact he financed it himself while working a day job) debut. It has all his trademarks all over it. Film noir influence, non-linear narrative, a clever plot twist at the end... Not as polished as something like Memento but still enormous fun!
I agree to a certain extent. It's good to have a different interpretation of a story but it's also good to remember the roots of where it all came from. Also remember that comic books are completely different from cinema. Christopher Nolan's films are in a completely different league from cinema.
have learnt how to control thoughts and .influence audience ... .. he have evolved great and so are his characters :: epic nolan ... u have made me understand so much .....lets see...how the darknight rises ..waiting for tomorow !
How could anyone be so cruel and ruin such a night for all those people? and Christopher must just be beyond mad of such an unforgiving horrific act of violence.
I loved The Avengers movie, and I also love the Dark Knight trilogy. Whedon and Nolan have two completely different styles of film-making, you can't really compare the two.
Did you know that Chris Nolan sat down to write a horror movie once? And it ended up being Inception. You can find the article online somewhere. He mentions Inception was supposed to be a horror but ended up being an action/sci-fi. Nolan explained that his mind just takes him to the action/spy/sci-fi genre and he can't help it. Because that's what he likes.
In the end it's Batman who gives it all as the hero. He takes it so that Dent can succeed in inspiring and bringing light to Gotham, and proving that the Joker can lose. I could go into detail on how it explores psychological/philosophical meanings through characters like Joker, Rachel and Gordon but I really can't be arsed. If you want more I'm sure you can search for Dark Knight character studies somewhere.
yeye you're absolutely right. I dont think any superhero movie will able to pull this off as good as Nolan's Batman trilogy did, I just think Daredevil has the potential to catch another type of audience than it currently has. :)
I love Lean's work, especially his earlier films. I understand what you mean with Hitchcock's camera work but also his camera operator invented the reverse tracking shot. I personally hate top 10s and comparing directors, I just enjoy studying and making films. I was just merely responding to someone's comment in which he stated that Chris Nolan was the greatest. Always great chatting about cinema with other movie lovers, cheers!
PTA is actually my second favorite working filmmaker alive. Behind Nolan, that is. Personally, I think The Master deserved Best Picture. I really enjoyed Silver Linings Playbook, and clearly, Tarantino is one of the modern day masters. Regardless, no filmmaker be it foreign, independent, or Hollywood is doing what Nolan is. TDKR is far behind Memento, Insomnia and TDR, but the man has been consistently brilliant in all creative areas involved in making a film like no one else.
I like when people think calling someone a "Nolanite" is a derogatory term. I'm proud to consider myself one. This man is a genius.
I don't get it, why woulden't a Batman fan like the Nolan films? Doesn't make sense.
This Is What Awesome Looks Like what does mcu have to do with it
Me: I never saw Batman and Robin.
Nolan: And you'll never have to.
Actually Robin was in the dark knight rises
@@loganpeterjones batman & robin is a movie😒
@@jannesvanurk sadly, yes it is.

I really love how he diverted the question from the reaction of seeing Anne Hathaway's outfit to the reaction of her work with the character.
Christopher Nolan is the director that we deserve... and the one we need right now.

@Itachi Is Invincible what The Dark Knight is better than The Godfather you kidding right? 😂

Oppenheimer was way too ambitious in a bad way , @@brucetenet6140 hate to break it to y'all✌🏼

We'll have to see. Nolan is a talented filmmaker in his own right, if anything he's like Spielberg.

watch following, lots of profanity there.
Dunkirk had profanity and Memento

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN DID AN AMAZING AND ABSOLUTE WONDERFUL JOB ON THE THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY👏👏👍👍🔥🔥🔥🤩🤩LOVE THE TRILOGY.

Christopher Nolan is the thinking man's Michael Bay! :-)

Michael bay? How dare you?

James Leran Earth is trolling its people he is...
Should have been nominated for Oscars instead of Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Snow White and the Huntsman
I agree. It’s a fantastic film and it seems to be getting more love as time goes on.
Lincoln and SLP earned those noms.
But yeah TDKR over Huntsman any day
