- The softest type of tofu, sundubu, is mostly well known in spicy tofu stew. It also makes a great side dish or a fancy appetizer. There's no need for cooking; just carefully cut the tofu, make a sauce, and add a spoonful of sauce on tofu slices. It’s so simple yet surprisingly delicious!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ingredients
400g or 14oz sundubu(soft type tofu)
1 stalk green onion
1/2 green and red chili
3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Cut the tofu package into half. Place the tofu on a wire rack for 15 minutes, to remove the liquid from soft tofu.
2. Thinly slice the green onion and chop the chilis In a small bowl, combine green onion, chilis, dark soy sauce, water, sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds. Stir well and set aside.
3. Carefully slice soft tofu into one to two inch thick. Keep it in a refrigerator.
4. Add the sauce to each piece of tofu just before serving

Thanks Jia! Love your videos! Yet another delicious looking vegan dish! I can't wait to try. I have not tried this type of very soft tofu. Looking forward to giving it a taste.
Thank you for the comment! : )
So simple, so delicious. What is silken tofu?
Great video Jia. You mentioned that the dish can be served warm - how do you do that? Can the soondubu be warmed in hot water without breaking up? Curious because I wish to serve this warm. Thanks!
Cut the tofu into one and a half or two inches thick, a bit thicker than when it's served cold. Then cook it in the microwave oven for 1min 30 seconds to 2 minutes (700 Watts). Sundubu or silken tofu is very soft and they easily break, so cut it carefully. I hope you make it successfully! : )
@@JiaChoiChef Thank you for this.
