My two cents about Aputure 300X - once on a shoot I had four of these, and strangely enough none of them had the same light color - some more magenta, some more green and even different in color temperature when set do the same settings. When buying these, it's good idea to check the received unit for color accuracy, especially if you plan to use few at the same time.

Yeah that is something I‘ve noticed as well, pretty much with all manufacturers. And if you‘re renting lights for bigger jobs, you‘ll run into fixtures with wildly different hours on them which results into an all you can eat color shift buffet.

Love it, kinda. I like that it’s a totally contained system based off of the older Mole and ARRI fresnel units that I tossed around for many years on a grip truck. I’m not sure about the poly housing though. I don’t look at a light this size as something I’m hiking up a mountain with, so “ounces equal pounds” logic doesn’t apply, thus a steel or aluminum housing would have instilled more confidence for me. I’m also not sure about silicon being used as a focus lens.
I’m in the midst of doing my research on what lights I should buy to get going again after a solid 6 year hiatus from working professionally doing commercial and narrative, and it looks like I’m about to have to invest $5000 in one brand or another.
Or I’m going to try to buy two to three cheaper lights for about $1000, the price of one 300X, just to get me going on sit downs for a while until new lights come out from the major COB players, which seems imminent.
The lights that have caught my eye are the Forza, which seem to me to be priced at close out prices, hinting at a Version II about to drop. I don’t really want to spend nearly twice as much on Aputure, even though they’re the ones everyone seems to be using. I feel like new lights are imminent from them too.
The reason being, the iFootage Anglerfish. Those lights seems to have cracked some code that have gotten the color rendering and brightness to beat all of the predecessors, at half the price. If anything I’ll buy three of those, which looks like I can do for about $1000, and wait to see what the response is.
Also, where did you get the generic store brand version of the James Bond Theme? It’s so close to the real thing! 😂

      Thanks for comment😎
As of now, I am also more invested into the offerings of Nanlite since they keep getting better and better. Specially the 60C is an amazing light for its weight and size. I usually get my soundtrack from Artlist and invest sometimes almost hours into finding them😅

@@MichaelEgglerFilms I do the same thing looking for music. I have a buddy who makes the stuff and he’ll always tell me, “you can just make your own!” I mean, yeah, I could take the time to figure out how to do that, and it’s not like I don’t have a midi keyboard around
here somewhere, but I need a song for this edit right now!
He also never offers to let me scroll his library and pick something of his, which I find funny too. Maybe I need to just ask directly.
Are you able to find the name of that background track so I can check it out? If that artist made that, and it’s so close to the real thing, I’m wondering what else they have.
