    Your luxury product or service is not selling for a reason. You might be making one or more, of five mistakes outlined by André in this video. These mistakes will prevent your success, no matter how wonderful your product or service may be.
    Why Your Luxury Product/Service is Not Selling

    The five reasons are:
    (5) Sales Process: You are not professional in your sales efforts. You don't have a defined approach and sales process. You are not trying to sell your product or service. You are depending on clients to show up, or expect word-of-mouth, or minimal marketing to do the work for you. Your sales process is sloppy.
    (4) Copy: You have not carefully chosen the right words to sell your product or service whether it is in-person scripts, or copy for marketing and sales materials. You have left the words up to chance, and what you are saying is not having the right impact with your prospects and clients.
    (3) Offer: You have not positioned, packaged, and presented a compelling offer to the marketplace. Your overtures do not make the prospect or client want to act to get what you have in return or to deal with you specifically. You may not know how to construct and offer your luxury product or service properly or how to create alternate or additional offers in the sales process to close the deal.
    (2) List: You are not directing your sales efforts to the right persons. You don't understand the different levels of affluence and wealth, specialized segments of these income categories and how these potential buyers think and act. You may not even have a list at all and are completely aimed at the wrong target to sell your product or service.
    (1) Your Psychology: You have conflicts in the way you think that block your ability to be successful with affluent and wealthy clients. Conflicts can be wide range from, not liking the role of selling, not being a student of sales and marketing, feeling like you are bothering others, resentment toward successful people, not feeling prosperous, being more in-tune with lack rather than abundance, a poor work ethic, or a lack of skill and professional development.

    Dang Andre. As always, simple and elegant advice that pulls no punches, but delivered so smoothly that your ego doesn't have time to reject it. I've seen this before, the 'Hollywood Movie" (protagonist just magically stumbles onto the 'one right' fairy Godmother character who makes their business profitable) approach to business strategy. I've definitely seen it in my own projects. Thanks as always.

    This is wonderful information. It reminds me of how The Gap branched into lower end (Old Navy) and higher end (Banana Republic) after they had a nice base. If I am honest with myself, I may be better anchoring myself in middle end and branching out into higher end after I get some experience in selling my business/idea. Yankee Candle did that with their candles that eventually morphed into the Woodwick brand with fancy fire wicks that crackle.
    I want to sell motivational athletic wear to Ironman Triathletes, and I have a great product, but it doesn't move ppl. It really is a, "oh that's nice...love the slogan" response and I have been trying to build on what I am learning from the responses of the higher end (Bently-driving and Park Avenue living) ppl I know. They are on board, and clearly they have the money, but they are not buying. I seriously expected them to buy merely because they had the money (bahahahahaha!).
    These videos have really opened my eyes. Do I want to go high end? Yes. Can I rise to the challenge? Yes. Can I relate to this population? Not at all. I do have faith that if I can launch a brand I can work to make it great so I CAN eventually vibe with these clients. High end triathlete wear translates into my competition is Lulu Lemon...and....I am not Lulu Lemon...so that could be a problem for sure. Now I know that from this video.
    Admittedly, it is hard as a triathlete to dim my light and consider mid-end clients instead of going for the highest heights, but self-knowledge is power and if authenticity and connections sell a brand, there is no shame in giving ppl what they want through what I can offer.
    Maybe for the time being I can look at becoming the cool kids clothes instead of the rich kids brand...at least for now. I can sharpen the saw as I make my mistakes with a more forgiving crowd. Still going to learn and watch these videos, though. I will check in with how it resonates with me which way to go, but assuming someone will buy just because they have the money is...well...sophmore at best.
    Thanks again. Maybe not the usual comment here, but maybe I can make my mistakes early and move into a higher level as I see fit. Still going for quality and culture, though. This strategy doesn't vibe with my overachieving spirit, though. I will figure it all out. I am thinking out loud here.
