    Thanks very much, fixed the buzzer with a new one from Ebay. The buzzer was broken for 4 years and has resulted in 2 callouts for the AA. Came across this video, and found out how easy it is to get the cluster out and fix a new buzzer.
    Only problem was putting back in again, it took a while to work out that the wire from the green connector was getting stuck behind the right screw hole.
    Thanks very much, saved me a fortune.

    Hi. Do you know how to remove rear shelf in audi a4 b6 saloon ? Thank you.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  8 років тому +1

      Hi there. Yes, indeed we do :-)
      It would be completely off-topic to discuss in details here as this video is for the speedo removal. We will be doing a video on the rear shelf removal in the saloon before too long actually.
      We're filming a complete headlining removal video series for the avant, and also the saloon (which will include the rear shelf as although not part of the headlining technically, many people need to change if they are upgrading their headlining colour).
      Some tips (from memory, it's been a few months since the last one!): the C pillar trim passes through/interlocks with the rear shelf, so those usually have to come out first. Remember the sub speaker, and also the high line brake light at the rear!
      Sorry we can't be more help right now, but look out for the official video coming soon.
      For others reading, sorry to go off-topic :-)

    Hey guys! Do you need to program the new cluster, or will it have the same info as the old one? Miles, service etc..

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  7 років тому

      Hey there
      I've not done a refit with a different unit personally TBH, but from my understanding the cluster retains the information such as mileage etc and so it would change to the new information, additionally I'm pretty sure it must be coded in (not plug and play).
      Quite a few people have done this mod (for example changing speedo on A4 to S4 or RS4 versions to get the nice S4/RS4 logo on the dials) and may be able to confirm some of the finer details for you - if you're reading this then join in!!
      If it's something you are seriously considering then I'd do a bit more research. Some Google searches should bring up some links on forums etc from people who have done it.

    2 screws, easy as that! I'm right in saying a common fault lies within the immobiliser module located inside the instrument cluster?

      Nope those immobilisers are good and not faulty

    Hi
    I’ve got a Octavia vrs 2011 & I can’t remove the instrument cluster.
    I’ve taken out all the bolts & only have a small amount of movement,sometimes seems to be holding it tight in place but I can’t see what it is.
    Any help,advice would be great?
    Thanks

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  5 років тому

      Hey there! I'd drop the panel down below the steering wheel so you can reach up from underneath and push it forward. Sometimes they can be quite stuck in there, just be sure you definitely got all the screws ;-)

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  7 років тому

      Hey there!
      Not easily, no. You would probably need to (carefully!!) open it up, take it apart and clean it that way.

    Is there a way to remove just the plastic glass so I can clean it?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  6 років тому

      I don't believe so, sorry about that. You'd have to take it apart I think to remove the ABS clear front, and so still have to remove it. You are better off cleaning it in situ with a decent cleaning product (glass cleaner can work well).

    Hello, is it possible to get that s4 look cluster?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  6 років тому

      Absolutely! You'll need a new S4 speedo - you can pick them up used on eBay for reasonable money.
      And of course it will need to be coded in once fitted also.
      Best of luck!
