  • Should you buy an aftermarket intake manifold for your 2jz? Here is a comparison of the OEM GTE intake manifold versus a Sleeper Designs RMR style intake manifold. 3 different boost levels were tested. Wastegate boost with boost controller turned off, 26psi and 32psi. Both dyno sessions had similar air temps of 75-80F and 83-85% ethanol in the tank. This is on 100% stock engine with the only modification being Kelford D cams, and valve springs.

    Great videos would love to see more! I am on my 5th supra looking for a 6th to do another build on. Do you have a link to the turbo, turbo manifold, and cams you are running? Thanks.

    Hi Vlad love the car, what pedal did you use for the DBW?

    Do you do remote tuning, how can I get a hold of you?

    you plan on making this one fast like your black supra or you going to make this one stronger

    Great Video... I also have the LS DBW setup on the Brangers intake with short runners. Running Proefi and E 85, But i have had just so much issues with the DBW. pressing your throttle slowly down at idle, nothing happens and then boom, goes to 3000 rpm. Or i would drive and the Rpm would not come down less than 2500 Rpm. Break stop on the clutch and sure then the car would idle at 850 rpm. It's back on the rollers for more tuning now, but have you run into such issues ?

      No issues like that. That is all tune related.

    WHAT PEDAL ARE YOU USING FOR THE DRIVE BY WIRE SETUP.

    Hi Vlad. Would I be able to make big horsepower with a precision 8685 with a stock 2jzgte oem intake manifold. I like the idea of being able to get good low end torque with high horsepower.

    Very nice review, I noticed that you had over all more boost on the wastegate level, oem vs aftermarket. Looks like it was a little over 20psi with the aftermarket unit. I'm going to assume with all runs the boost wasn't matched exactly between all oem vs aftermarket @ 6300rpm+?

      Yes the first run had boost controller turned off so it naturally made a little more boost. The other runs had PID feedback controlling boost and targetting the same exact boost levels.

    Vlad, what happens to the idle control valve water side with the new plentum. Is it just rerouted and how. Thanks

    • @vlads2jz
      @vlads2jz  5 років тому +1

      I never use the water ports on any idle valve even on OEM intake. With that said the aftermarket intake manifold has a drive by wire throttle body, it does not need an idle air valve.

      @@vlads2jz Thanks man, like I said I installed this motor and haven't had time to finish her up because of a demanding 'Job' and have forgotten a few details.

      @@vlads2jz Question? Is there any benefits for not using the water ports? I'm new to this engine and enjoy hearing different opinions on do's and don't's and why and why nots. So are you just recirculating or closing them off. Your thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks
