I’m glad I’m not alone in the ‘this’ll just take me a minute’ followed by the ‘5 hours later’ plant chores… I don’t have 100+ plants, but I always think I can get my watering done in 30 minutes and then suddenly the day is over!!! 😅

Wow some of the comments you get are wild. A part of the fun with having plants is (to me) trying out new things and figuring out what works with each plant&the collection as a whole. The way ppl are bothered about how other ppl do their plants is real weird.
You can never be too extra por caring for plants. They are what makes us happy and we care for them, plus they are not cheap. And it's a hobby we enjoy.

I just happened to notice that I hadn’t seen this vid and thought I’d comment, even though I’m half a year late…I learned to be very careful when un-potting nursery plants when my husband ended up with a staph infection from one. We used to own a landscaping company and he and I were finishing up some of the last bits of planting at a doctor’s office in our area when he went to loosen up the roots on a plant and got cut across his palm by a random piece of barbed wire that was tangled up in the root system. We’ve come across lots of plastic bits and colored string, and even aluminum can tabs here and there, but the barbed wire was the worst! Also - I love the “extra”! Keep being hilarious and awesome!😊

My Calathea Dottie just ☠. I will not be getting another Calathea - way too fussy. I do want to get that water additive to get the chlorine out for my other plants (like my NO-Peace Lillies 🙄). I don't think you're "too extra," maybe other people aren't extra enough?
You are not extra! My plants get the exact products your does! The Yucca Oil and Probiotics by BIOS. I love giving my plants anything extra that's going to make them look healthy and beautiful!!! 🪴💚

Well I water my plants when they want it. And they never all want water at the same time so I'm always watering a plant. I have 189 plants. Didn't know I had that many until I counted them

Are you using neem drops as gnat drops in your water? I have a neem spray bottle but I'd like the magic drops you use! Couldn't find them in your Amazon store. So I have two spots open for new plants, both have to be able to handle hanging but don’t have to be vining/climbing. One spot is high light in front of my west facing window, the other is in a corner on that same window wall but low light. Easy care plants. Love variegation. Already have Pothos so not necessarily wanting a third unless I find the perfect one. Got any recommendations? The corner spot is right above my bed so don’t want anything that could be messy… Also, those calathea are so gorgeous! Never seen that variety before!
Oh you think the broken plastic knife is odd? That's nothing, one time I bought a beautiful plant in a 5 gallon pot from a large well known nursery, it was pricey. It didn't survive. When I dumped out the soil to reuse the pot >> there was a bunch of actual garbage in the pot!! Empty milk cartons and other things like juice boxes. They clearly did this to fill up the pot and use less soil. Obviously, I never shopped there again.

I don’t understand how you “massacre” your plants. And to suggest your routines are “over the top” is subjective because you have gorgeous plants with high success rates of rooting and growing… if that is too much then they may as well just say waking up is over the top too! 😂
Was always told you should not repot for several months, unless absolutely necessary. What are your thoughts on how to handle that or do you not do it in cold weather? Also, which humidifier is that because it looks like it’s cordless
I repot when (1) the plant is rootbound (2) there is a bad pest infestation (3) I don’t like the soil the plant came in. I repot though out the year regardless of season 🤷🏻♀️. The humidifier is linked in the video’s description!
I’m also an 🚁 🪴 parent. Now, serious question. How the hell are you able to keep soil out of your carpet without getting it all over? Are you doing witchcraft or something like that? Cause you can’t tell me that small plastic mat is doing the work. 🤨

Calatheas are prayer plants. Their leaves go down during the day and then move up into “prayer” mode in the evening 🙏

It’s a nice-to-have and not a must-have so if you omit this from your plant care routine it will be fine. Just keep on top of watering 👍
