Accurate. I also just let out the biggest disappointed sigh. I just remembered all the times it rained, and I fell. Particularly at the start of my first ever game where I wasn't used to using the glider and dropped to my death several hundred times.
Link has another power: There used to be a theory that Link's abilities are passed down along with his soul, at least in part. That's also why Link easily masters all weapons and tools he touches.
@@kurag5198 It actually seemed to explain a couple of things for the peeps and I too. I mean, at this point, it's impossible to tell just how many times Link and Zelda have been coming back over and over and over and over again to do this little dance with Gannon-- surely the signs of battle fatigue have *got* to be showing up, don't they? To us, they kind of did too, I mean, Link just doing this grim one-foot-in-front-of-the-other almost death march through everything before he goes into stasis, Zelda just *not* being able to get it together for the longest time under the heavy pressure she's been under.... Both are indeed valid and common PTSD symptoms. A buddy even pointed out that it explains Zelda's reaction after Gannon goes down- After all, supposedly, it's over, finally, once and for all. Gannon is down and supposed to be staying there at long last so..... what's that mean for her and Link? From that perspective, it's kind of like that one member of an older couple on the verge of retirement wondering if their spouse still finds them sexy and interesting now that the kids and the jobs and the distractions of everything are over with. LOL. I *will* say that as for the "overthinking it" comment that they made in the video- given just how much detail that these guys go into whenever they make a Zelda game-- particularly *this* one..... I'm not so sure that we, as the "audience" *can*. They've gotten, like, *hella* detailed with this stuff by this point and, it really does show for those of us that actually get curious and go looking. So, are we *really* getting too detailed or, are we just responding to their encouragement? LOL.
couldn't it also be that link's "soul" is the player?, ask yourself this, how many LoZ titles have you played throughout the years, and can you still recall some of the movesets, would fit nicely with this idea + it fit's with the whole "link's supposed to be an empty avatar that the players project themselves into, that's he's a *link* between the game & player"
@@Yarblocosifilitico Those have been refuted and explained as alternate phenomena multiple times. It is poorly thought out at best, and actively harmful to scientific discourse. The logic behind it is actually worse than antivax logic, and is solely grounded in paranormal and psychic mumbo jumbo.
"Link doesn't have super strength" Also link: Parries an 8 ton lynel charging at him at 24 meters per second. (Which for the record, requires 500,000 newtons.)
I shook my head at that comment. Basically every theorist agree that Link has super strength for a hylian. Black Crisis even used a clip of Daruk's journal where Daruk praised Link for his "goron-like strength"😂
Also fought THREE AT ONCE when he was like 17 or so (based off the timing of the journal entries) but also that's also just a great feat regardless. (Plus over ten annoying as all hell bokoblins being annoying at the same time.)
@@Celebratory_Diaper When you accelerate time for you or slow down time except for you ( at the end, it's the same ), you may move normally from your point of view, but from a point of view that isn't yours you are just seen going faster.
I thought that was just a tongue in cheek references to the new mechanic but he has really good eye sight. So maybe it was a tongue in cheek reference to links actual ability! Good catch.
A more accurate explanation is that Link gets faster. His perception included. Why? Because time slowing down for the rest of the world is technically the same as you getting faster.
I can just imagine if Link was just a normal guy: Revali: the power to control wind Urbosa: Dominion over lightning Mipha: Unparalleled medical skills Daruk: Ultimate defense Zelda: sealing Power and blood of a Goddess. Link: *s o r d*
It's the Triforce of Courage. The power of the Third Triforce is subtle, but unbelievably potent. The Triforce of Power grants unlimited power... Both physical and magical. The Triforce of Wisdom grants supreme mental and magical skill. So what does Courage do? Well... Nothing. Or so it would seem. In actuality... It brings out it's bearer's full potential. It takes years to master any one weapon, yet BOTW Link can pick up ANY weapon he sees and know instinctively how to use it with full skill and mastery. Even ancient weapons forgotten by time such as the Rods or Guardian weapons he can't have had a teacher for. He can forge a bond with any animal he tries, instinctively able to handle them (deer do NOT usually take to riders, people!) He can also learn how to utilize all equipment he finds perfectly and figure out weaknesses to any foe. When he concentrates his speed and reflexes increase as if he's been training his reflexes and reaction times for decades. He's an absolute paragon of mortality, a person brought to the full power a person can naturally wield. All this is the Triforce of Courage's influence, and Link's own secret and subtle power.
I was about to mention this. In every game I've played (I haven't played them all) Link has the triforce of courage, Zelda the triforce of wisdom and Ganon the triforce of power. Its a pretty easy explanation where his powers comes from.
There is a slight problem with this. When Zelda uses her power, we can clearly see that she has the full triforce and that's what's granting her the power. If that is true than link has no triforce in BOTW.
And holds over like 30000 Rupees in his pocket and Switchs so many clothes he can still jump even with soo much stuff in his inventory i just.... HOW do he do DIS??? Even WHEN he NAKEY BAKEY AKKA CHAKEY where does he keep the stuff?
The biggest misconception of Links focus abilities is that he’s not slowing down time, his PERCEPTION of time is slowing down. His movements in focus mode in crease 19x faster which is why you can flurry rush an enemy before a shot arrow, or a lightening strike hits the ground. His Strength feats come from his precision with time dilation, natural strength, and speed.
No, you had it right the first time. His real power is the ability to make everyone thirsty for him, including the godesses themselves. The godess of time just slows down time in some places so that she can enjoy the sight in slow motion.
He would have to be able to put more force behind an anti-lynel shield bash than there is in a rocket launch. But that's just a theory, *A GAME THEORY!!!!!* thanks for reading!
*pushes up glasses* Well actually if he can move quickly even when he slows time down he'd have to use a lot of force to move himself at such speeds so he would need super strength (or at least a decent amount of strength)
If your talking about OoT then remember that he had gauntlets that give him godly strength which I still think it was lie that “Golden gauntlets give him super human strength”
"But when playing this game, one of the things that always made me roll my eyes was that a child could defeat older, more experienced swordsmen in duels." Uhhhh... You do realize that in Wind Waker, Link defeats Ganondorf, right? In that game, Link is a child, and Ganondorf is an older, more experienced swordsman.
Link goes to fight hordes of enemies. Jumps of a ledge slows down time pulls out a 5 shot bow with bomb arrows and decimated them. Lands, puts away bow and pulls out Master Sword. Daruk comes and is like “lol wut”.
Mipha loves him Ravioli hates him Daruk refers to him as his brother And Urbosa teaches him how to cross dress as a woman to get access to gerudo town Seems legit
@@YvngDuckSauce A late reply but the Urbosa scenes were more than likely just for cinematic purposes and showing her speed. Link’s “time slowing” effect is seen by Teba and Link himself says he feels time slows down when he focuses in his journal.
Simple Link was shot by a stand arrow and gained a stand the ability to stop time also giving him the ability to have a *snacc* break in the middle of a deathmatch
Holy shit now that reminded me the memory where Zelda is being chased by the Yiga and Link was nowhere to be seen but in a fraction of a second he's there and saves her. Makes sense now 👌
Wow, that... Actually makes a lot of sense! Man, I thought flurry rushes were cool before, but thinking of that being Link's special ability makes it that much cooler!
Number 16 bus shelter no, both Urbosa and the Yiga move in slow motion there, it’s just for dramatic effect. However Link doesn’t slow time when he successfully parries with a shield either. He just makes the enemy vulnerable for a few seconds. You can see this because other enemies still move the same speed after you parry.
The fact that BOTW link beating knights as a child sounds super weird until you take in to account that BOTW child link could be comparable to young link from OOT and Majoras Mask.
The deku tree does seem very familiar with him, more so than just being the guardian of the sword I'm assuming link spent plenty of time in the korok forest despite actually having a father in this games lore.
@@ralcogaming7674 That's one of the things about link in the series. Link is always Link in every game. He's the same person. Whether reborn, dropped into the world, poofed into existance by faerie magic or whatever else may happen. He's always the same person and He's always Link. The only other protagonist I can think of right now that is that way through multiple games is Ryu from the Breath of Fire Series. He was always Ryu no matter how he was put into that particular world. You can play all the games and no matter how he got there you're playing the same person.

@@YvngDuckSauce Yeah I thought about that too XD It's a really cool theory with in-game evidence, but depending on how canonical we consider Age of Calamity it could disprove it
Also when you read daruks diary he says and I quote “he said sometimes when he focuses time slows down. Heh! I really like that guy.” Oml I think we are into something haha
@Nirek Setty ... yes. Link isn't mute ( at least in this game. But in most Zelda games he can clearly produce sound anyway ). He chooses not to talk because of pressure and expectations, but he CAN talk. It's likely either selective mutism ( which I don't think you can help ) or he's simply quiet. If Daruk considers him his bro, I bet Link would feel close enough to be comfortable talking to him.
@Nirek Setty Makes sense but then again he doesn't talk because in cutscenes because he's a silent protagonist. But it's implied that he does talk, just not often compared to other people. Out of all the Champions, I think he might be the most comfortable with Daruk, honestly. You'd tell me "but he knows Mipha from way back", true, but I think that's why he probably wouldn't open up too much to her. My reasoning might not make much sense to you, but it might be a guilt thing. Just my thoughts though. Plus Daruk is a bro in general.
@Nirek Setty If you read Zelda's diary in her room in the castle, you find out that Link did speak to her, though it took some prodding. I believe the exact wording was "he opened up."
And in the hands of a speedrunner he gains the power of amphetimines mixed with lsd which allow him to no clip through the boundaries of his universe and accomplish his goals in record time.
either hes Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail because Erza stores her weapons and armor inside a kind of personal pocket dimension and can call upon these weapons at will and switch at will or hes a fucking Time Lord from Doctor Who that has pockets that are bigger on the inside
the speed of light -_- ur kidding me his attacks aren't even close to the speed of *sound.* at least I don't think they are. anyways the extreme speeds and stress would wear a weapon out faster tho. (to put into perspective how fast light is it's basically billions of times faster than literally any living thing. *billions* of times faster. it travels at like 120,000 miles per *second.* so it can travel around the Earth 7 times in one second. If link were actually that fast he would have to wait *years* before noticing any movement.) okay I over reacted, my nerd side got offended, but still this is something I haven't thought of, noice idea.
+NintendoBlackCrisis honestly I think it's a good idea. i've wondered about it myself a few times, I mean, look at the fact you can hit a lynel with (hundreds of?) years of experience in the face 5 times before it can get back up out of a dash.

Well not to mention, in Majora's Mask he could control time moving back and forth 3 days, slowing or speeding time. He is reborn over again and again whenever Gannon is rising, a curse (gift) from Demise from Skyward Sword.
well.. Link is the "hero of time" in almost all games there is a Temple of time. in Majora's Mask you can play multiple songs that affect the passage of time. he also has the triforce of courage, being chosen by the gods. it may be possible that the gods bestowed this power to him.
@@doctorbright1065 there's is actually a thing called 'Morphic resonance' (or something close to that) where knowledge adquired by individuals is passed to the whole species, it was proven with rats learning a maze faster because other rats in the other side of the world learned it before them. So it wouldn't far fetched at all if everything a Link learns is there to be picked up by other Links, making it easier to master whatever ability or weapon as long as some Link mastered it before.
None of the shrines were activated yet. It wouldn't have made a difference if Link was holding the Shiekah slate or not. That's why the shrines remain locked until you activate the tower at the Great Plateau, which itself was not accessible until the actions of Calamity Ganondorf caused the Tower to be revealed.
Ha! Wrong! Link's true ability is his spider climbing powers. Flat walls and sheer cliffsides? No problem. I mean, why else was Link in the Shrine of Resurrection? The Sheikah knew about his powers and sealed him away with unclimbable walls. He would've climbed the heck out of Ganon and ended the war too quickly!
When preparing to fight Vah Medoh Teba says, “You’re...a skilled archer. It was as if time stopped with every arrow you let fly.” Just some more evidence I found after playing the game over. This evidence probably won’t be available if you’ve already completed the Devine beasts so I just thought I might add it. These videos are great to get my mind going and look for things I didn’t look for before, including this which I didn’t notice at first. Thanks for making great videos!
I was always under the impression that time slowing down was just a representation of his skill and speed. Like his reactions and analysis are so precise and quick it’s seems like time is slower, but he’s just moving faster. After all, Daruk says it’s _like_ time slows down, he doesn’t say that’s what actually happens. Other NPCs note the same thing with the same wording in regards to Link’s skill with the bow.
4:54 woah woah woah. stop right there. "As seen in the game, the Champion's all have their own unique abilities, Mipha's Grace, Daruk's Protection Urbosa's Fury and *Ravioli's* Gale 😏👌
Flurry rushes and parrys give me goosebumps, such a cool feature and power. I like the idea that his power is slowing down time in his own perception 😊
Link's ability to slow time could be both his perception and reflexes gaining a boost during those moments, due to the way each Link inherits the Hero's Spirit.. By the time of BOTW, there's most likely been hundreds of incarnations, so hundreds of lifetimes of experience to draw from
Toryu Naminosaki however, the triforce of courage (and the time between each reincarnation) would remove those memories and experiences as he is a completely different person but with a similar facial structure. His hair almost always changes along with his height, age, family, friends, point of origin and sword skills. In botw he is Zeldas appointed knight. In the Minish Cap he is Zeldas childhood friend. And in Majoras Mask he is the child hero who saved the world and was robbed by Skull Kid
The master sword has some control over time. We know that from Oot, when it's paired with the ocarina to allow link to travel between the seven years. It might be something relating to his connection with the sword
OoT isnt the only game in which those on the side of Hyrule have the benefit of time, Hylia seems to be associated with it in the same way the golden goddesses are with power wisdom and courage, you know? So maybe she intervened and gifted that power (and possibly the other champion abilities?) to certain bloodlines? Or maybe it was a happy accident from one too many heroes and princesses falling in love leading to a bloodline saturated in the blood of the reincarnation of Hylia herself? Hell, looking at that old theory of the heroes of the triforce of courage having their special ability in the form of the save mechanic, maybe it's an evolved form of that kind of time based power? After all, what is the ability to return to the point before everything went wrong but some sort of time travel?
Sure, Link's time slowing moves might give him an edge, but look at it like this: if you were a trained soldier and were put in a sparring match with a four year old, would you give the kid some leeway or would you beat the shit out of the boy when his dad is a knight and therefore quite possibly your boss or at least ranked above you? Yeah, don't think so. But at Link started to grow up he turned out to be the real deal and so he was made a knight. But when he gets the Master Sword he's a lot more powerful than you'd think. In the cutscene where Link saves Zelda from the Yiga we hear him attack only once and cuts down the Yiga Footsoldier in a single hit. Problem with this is that Yiga Footsoldiers have 72 health, while the Master Sword deals 60 damage max. So I hereby theorize that the Master Sword was, to use the scientific term, "OP HAX bullshit" before Ganondorf implemented the Calamity patch on Hyrule which saw it nerfed. But before that was it a one-hit kill weapon like the One-Hit Obliterator, or did it just deal massive amounts of damage? I can't say for sure. So if Link carried the middle finger of the goddess in his hand, why did he lose even with his time stopping power? Probably because he got overrun. Remember that before the Calamity Link had never visited the Shrines, meaning he never got any Spirit Orbs, meaning he never upgraded his hearts or stamina. This means that once Ganonmania started to run (Breath of the) wild on Hyrule, Link was essentially on a three-heart run dealing with several Guardians at the same time with a limited set of equipment. You'd lost too on your first try. But since we didn't get to play that part we couldn't reload the game and try again to not die (in gaming this is called the Rule of Aerith). And before you ask, no, Link does not have the power of「Za Warudo」since it's not a complete time stop. Instead he can avoid being hit, slow down time around him so that he can plan his next move. To the outside world it looks like he's teleporting and a few monsters just died. That's not quite「Za Warudo 」... that's「King Crimson」. And given that Breath of the Wild is the Skyrim of Zelda games... it just works.
Beriorn A very interesting thought indeed! One thing I will say though is that from what I remember, in Daruk's dlc memory zelda mentions that link was the "best swordsman in all of hyrule". This implies that he was better than basically everyone. So I feel that him besting adults wouldn't just be a fluke.
actually link had more hearts When you go to get the master sword from the lost woods the ancient tree man tells you that you were stronger before you were ressurected and could easily pull that sword out(meaning he had at least 12 hearts) Sooooo yeah
I've always thought that the power of the triforce of courage is the ability to save. Like save your game. I'd be courageous if I knew I could go ahead and die and just reload. Plus I think it's cool that the mechanic that was pioneered by the 1st Zelda game is Link's ultimate power
By that logic Link is literally more powerful than almost anything in the MCU, DCU, XMENU and any form of fiction(Heck, even the SCP Universe, except for SCP-001 Swanns Proposal and SCP-3821)
@@Georgefloydthesneedster How is a post box that can teleport envelopes to anywhere in America within two day's stronger than the ability to save and reload?
@@kerwinramage4162 must have mistook it for another scp, my bad. I mean the scp that is basically god(he ascended above us basically, which isnt rly true, since ya kknow, hes not real, but still)
It could just be both tbh. And if it's not both, then it could still be both because one can result from the other. (If you can save/reload you can essentialy do everything mentioned in the video, given enough time.)
By the transitive property of being a descendant or just inheriting the spirit of the hero that resides in all Links, I can get behind this. Even though his title is more likely Champion Link or Hero of the Wild, I wouldn't be surprised much that his Champion Power involves swiftness and a change in a perception of time given that he was a Hero of Time in a past era.
Omfg I'm sick of people calling every incarnation of link "The hero of time" he is only the hero of time in OoT (ocarina) and I guess Majora's mask. He is a different hero in each game. so Wind waker is the hero of winds, TP is the hero of twilight, SS is the hero of the sky I think, and BotW is the hero of the wild
When you finish the shooting things with Teba in the flight range to get acces to vah Medoh, Teba says that it seems like time slows down when he lets loose of an arrow
i honestly belive the Master Cycle Zero is link's divine beast, even when they reveled it in the chanpions ballad trailer (AND THE DLC ITSELF) they used the music when you free a divine beast and it take aim at hyrule castle. THE PIECES JUST FIT TOO PERFECTLY!
It was probably wooden swords and once the adults saw him play fight other kids and seen his strength they attempted with a wooden sword and lost. Kind of how in Asian culture they would practice their own combat and perfect their technique.
To be honest, I am more inclined to believe that Link has superhuman strength, endurance, durability, and speed. It likely comes form being the reincarnated "Spirit of the Hero". As we know the knowledge, abilities, and powers of the past Links are pass down to the next Link. This is why Link is a master swordsman in all of his lives despite never having wielded a sword in his whole life in some of his games. For example, in OoT, Link is only a child and one that was raised in a peaceful forest and yet he is able to wield the very first sword he ever gets his hands on with enough skill to best monsters and other warriors of his time (like the Gerudo Pirates in MM). In Twilight Princess, Link is even strong enough to beat Gorons in wrestling competitions despite being raised in a ranch for all his life. Now you might believe that other Hylians (if they trained enough) would be able to have his strength as Link doesn't seem to be consistent across all his games in terms of his physical attributes which would hurt the idea that each Link passes down their knowledge and strength to the next Link. This would mean that each Link simply trains to get to their level in each game and thus have distinct strength and weaknesses that the others don't have based on the circumstances of the game that they are in. To that I would just say that there wouldn't be a reason for why Link can wield a sword with such speed and strength as a child who was raised in a forest in OoT. If the Links of the past hadn't granted him their knowledge and experience he just wouldn't be able to do what we see him do in his video games. You might point out that, if the Links passed down their abilities to the next at birth, then Link should have been able to beat Ganon as a kid in OoT when he first met him which would mean that Link's abilities are just plot holes Nintendo has in the Legend of Zelda stories. To that I say that there is a possible explanation. While it is true that not every Link seems to be as strong as the one in Twilight Princess or as fast as the one in Breath of the Wild, there is another inconsistency across the games that could ironically explain the inconstancy of Link's abilities. The age at which Link confronts Ganon tends to be different across each of the Legend of Zelda installments. Sometimes he is a child, sometimes he is a teenager. It is likely that Link reaches certain ages where his superhuman abilities manifest. It would explain why he isn't quite as strong as he is as a kid in comparison to his later years or even in some of his other lives (Twilight Princess Link is the eldest of the Links being the age of 19). I even have some evidence to back it up. When you have max hearts and stamina in BotW but extra spirit orbs (by way of DLC) and then go talk to the goddess statue, it will tell you that your being overflows with life energy and stamina and that increasing your power any further could actually destroy you. It is likely that Link's 16 year old Hylian body can't contain the full power of the Spirit of the Hero which is why he isn't as physically strong as 19 year old Twilight Princess Link. This would explain why he struggles to lift certain weapons in BotW but is stronger than Gorons in Twilight Princess. You might then ask about why Link in Twilight Princess isn't as fast as Breath of the Wild Link as he is older than BotW Link and thus should have access to all of the younger Links strengths plus more according to my logic. To that I have two explanations. The first is out-of-world and is simply that the devs didn't decide to include the mechanic in the previous games because they hadn't thought of it yet and they didn't have consoles that had the power to perform a mechanic like the flurry rush. The in-world explanation is one that has to be put together using multiple hints given in the Legend of Zelda franchise. The first thing I should mention is that we have never seen Link in his prime. He always defeats Ganon in his teens or younger, never in his twenties. It is possible that Link attains this speed in his prime age and that is what makes him unbelievably fast. Why does this Link have this power at the age of 16 you ask? Remember how I said that you can enchange "essence" in this game for extra hearts or stamina. The Spirit of the Hero likely traded physical strength which normally would be represented by hearts (think of the 13 heart requirement for the Master Sword) for greater speed in order for a younger Link to be ready to fight Calamity Ganon. Also you have to remember that it takes a lot of energy to move that fast and so Link wouldn't want to do it all the time. It would explain why Link likes to eat so much in BotW and yet he doesn't gain a pound. Link in BotW may not be as physically strong as Twilight Princess Link but I will remind you that Link wields weapons in this game that a man of his size and muscle mass shouldn't be able to. So he definitely has superhuman strength just not to the degree that Twilight Princess Link did. So I don't think that Link has a time manipulation ability. He is simply so fast that everything appears to be slow around him. I think you are making a mistake to assume that Link is as strong as a normal Hylian. Also if Link does have a time-manipulation ability, then it isn't something that he got from a family member. It is likely something that he got in a past life and thus was pass down to him in this life. So no matter what, in order for either of ours theories to work, Link has to gain knowledge, power, and experience from his past lives. So whether or not it is super-speed or time-manipulation Link gained this from his past lives. P.S.: I know this was extremely long but I needed to cover most of the different counterarguments and different pieces of evidence for my "theory" if you will.
Gyro 10499 i 100% agree and theorized the same thing myself. Link is technically immortal through his hero spirit and it’s been hinted that his past lives effect him. Also with the ocarina of time I’m sure that set the groundwork for a lot of links even in different universes. He traveled time and space to defeat evil and I’ll bet even train some of the other links. For example In twilight princes there is the hero(link) that teaches you different skills. In fact ocarina of time link could actually be the one who made it so the hero spirit is passed down(yes it’s a paradox) gone back to the very beginning of the world and Infused the triforce of courage with his spirit as to protect all the links that come after. This is hinted at in Twilight Princess when everyone was fighting over the triforce (and they were all links and shadow links)
Gyro 10499 yep and the fact that in most of the games he posses the courage triforce piece which helps also. He’s not afraid to get in fights even if he has a small chance of winning.
Daruk: I can become invinsible Ravioli: I can create a huge gale Urbosa: I can snap my fingers and call down lightning Mipha: I can heal others mortal wounds Link: ZA WARUDO
"Besides seeing Link's awakened master sword" Okay i almost choked on my cracker at that. Legend Of Zelda: Everybody Wants Link could be an alternate name for BOTW Also isn't it obvious? Link's ability is Za Warudo!
Urbosa has very similar ability because when she perfect gaurds a Yiga Clan member's attack and showed a similar slow down effect. This, along with the shrine teaching this style of combat, implies that it's just an advanced skill. Maybe a rare skill, but one the shrine predicates Link having
BROSKIMAN 1 I see. The shrine builders could've foreseen Link having this power ahead of Link himself. Though I think it remains plausible they expect any given chosen one to be able to master it as a skill. It might even be some technique Sheika invented on their own, they are like ninja and Link couldn't do this before BOTW.
"Four year old Link defeated adults in combat." I like to think of this as analogous to adult Link beating Hinoxes. He can do stuff like this because he manifested his quirk: the Triforce of -Comeliness- Courage.
It would be pretty interesting if the royal guard set you find was either Links’s father or was supposed to be his own when or if he is ready to be one.
Julian Ion remember though, this wasn’t his role until his actions caught the eye of the king, so maybe there’s a chance that if he didn’t get appointed, he would have been a royal knight

I know this is a year old but... this Link is the Hero of the Wild. The Hero of Time is the one from Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask. And the time powers that one had were all from divine objects ( ie. The Master Sword and the Ocarina of Time ) and that said, they do say that the Ocarina of Time allows you to call upon the Goddess of Time, whoever she is. The Master Sword on the over hand seems to have an innate power over time, being able to skip through it, helping the hero. This may be thanks to Goddess Hylia, as Fi, the spirit of the Sword, was created by her. And it's shown in Skyward Sword that Hylia has some power over time ( if the Time Gates are anything to go by ). And now that I mention that... you know how BotW Link can talk to the goddess statues to upgrade his health and stamina ? I don't believe the average person can just hear Hylia's voice from the statues, so already Link has a special connection to her. So what if his time powers are a blessing from said Goddess ? Originally I was going to say it could be Fi's power, but he can do it without the Sword, so clearly that's not her doing. Honestly I think this is pretty plausible ! Age of Calamity kinda breaks the theory by allowing other characters to use flurry rushes when they fo a perfect dodge, but I guess we could just say Hylia just decides to help once in a while. And who knows... [ Age of Calamity spoilers incoming ] Maybe Terrako's time power is also a blessing from Hylia, thanks to Zelda's connection to the Goddess. Or maybe a whim of the Goddess of Time ( though some people speculate that the Goddess of Time mentioned in Majora's mask is actually Hylia ).

"Ka Ka Kachi Daze plays."
You re fucking right
I was about to mention this. In every game I've played (I haven't played them all) Link has the triforce of courage, Zelda the triforce of wisdom and Ganon the triforce of power. Its a pretty easy explanation where his powers comes from.
It’s because he’s a Mary Sue.
There is a slight problem with this. When Zelda uses her power, we can clearly see that she has the full triforce and that's what's granting her the power. If that is true than link has no triforce in BOTW.
That explains why he changes clothes so fast!

Tristan Neal In the perspective of others, time wouldn't slow down. Link would just be really fast :)

By the time of BOTW, there's most likely been hundreds of incarnations, so hundreds of lifetimes of experience to draw from
Toryu Naminosaki if you look at other games its clear he slows time
Toryu Naminosaki however, the triforce of courage (and the time between each reincarnation) would remove those memories and experiences as he is a completely different person but with a similar facial structure.
It might be something relating to his connection with the sword
but he doesn't have it most of the time.
The ocarina of time has a different stasis power
I would also like to say that the Master Sword also unlocks a sleeping Gate of Time in Skyward Sword.
NintendoBlackCrisis
I'm pretty sure adult soldiers wouldn't like being beaten by a kid anyway.
NintendoBlackCrisis "He deflected the gardian's laser with a pot lid and disabled the machine" was that actually apart of the story?

Yes, it was in the DLC under Daruk's "training journal"

I've always thought that the power of the triforce of courage is the ability to save. Like save your game. I'd be courageous if I knew I could go ahead and die and just reload. Plus I think it's cool that the mechanic that was pioneered by the 1st Zelda game is Link's ultimate power
By that logic Link is literally more powerful than almost anything in the MCU, DCU, XMENU and any form of fiction(Heck, even the SCP Universe, except for SCP-001 Swanns Proposal and SCP-3821)
Just like Frisk - Undertale. They have determation and it gives them the ability to save, reload, reset etc.
Makes sense. Link IS the hero of time.
Erin S how???
By the transitive property of being a descendant or just inheriting the spirit of the hero that resides in all Links, I can get behind this. Even though his title is more likely Champion Link or Hero of the Wild, I wouldn't be surprised much that his Champion Power involves swiftness and a change in a perception of time given that he was a Hero of Time in a past era.
Michael Olegario I guess, but this possibly takes place millions of years after lot and it doesn't appear to be present link in any other
games
Omfg I'm sick of people calling every incarnation of link "The hero of time" he is only the hero of time in OoT (ocarina) and I guess Majora's mask. He is a different hero in each game.
so Wind waker is the hero of winds, TP is the hero of twilight, SS is the hero of the sky I think, and BotW is the hero of the wild
Elijah Hanson actually the link in skyward sword carries the title of “the chosen hero”

Training to be a knight
So the spirit of the hero is essentially One For All from Boku no Hero? I can accept this as canon.
Waiiitttt Link has past lives?!?! But... but... so there is multiple links?!?! Or the same link just as multiple stages of his life?
Paragraphs dude...
Gyro 10499 yep and the fact that in most of the games he posses the courage triforce piece which helps also. He’s not afraid to get in fights even if he has a small chance of winning.

Urbosa has very similar ability because when she perfect gaurds a Yiga Clan member's attack and showed a similar slow down effect.

That slowdown was most likely for show
Well the only people who were allowed in the shrines were chosen by the sword...

The Hero of Time has time controlling abilities?
The hero of time is Link from Ocarina of time and Majora's mask
[ Age of Calamity spoilers incoming ]
Maybe Terrako's time power is also a blessing from Hylia, thanks to Zelda's connection to the Goddess. Or maybe a whim of the Goddess of Time ( though some people speculate that the Goddess of Time mentioned in Majora's mask is actually Hylia ). No matter which divinity it was, they probably took pity on the fate of the warriors of this era and decided to give them help, effectively splitting the timeline again.
Sorry about going on a tangent like this. I love to theorize- Originally I was just gonna point out the wrong in your statement, but it actually made me think of all this, so thanks !
The intro was so true.
